Rising Dawn Release Date

I have been dealing with some personal stuff in my life that has really affected my mental health and caused so many delays in my writing progress with Rising Dawn. The one thing I really hate is disappointing my readers, so I continued hoping I could to meet my deadline, but I had to come to terms with the fact that I won’t make November’s intended release date.

Could I do finish in a month? Probably… if I sacrifice my health and neglect my family. All things I am not willing to do. I’ve come to accept that missing my deadline is not a failure. I am simply taking the time to give this book the care it deserves. That goes for me, too.

I know it’s not ideal, and I am so sorry for any disappointment this may cause. I would love to get my books in your hands much faster, but this is what’s best for now. I hope you won’t be too upset with me.

I love this story and I love my readers. The quality of the work I put out there has always been important to me and that will never change. So that being said, the new release date for Rising Dawn is January 16th, 2024.

What does this mean for you?

💚Amazon has canceled and refunded all ebook preorders. A new listing to preorder the ebook again will be available sometime today and linked on the Guardians webpage or in through link in my Instagram bio. Everyone who submitted their receipts will still receive their swag gift.

💚Website preorders for regular, exclusive editions, book boxes, print packs and windows will ship late January to February.

💚Street Team eARCS and PR ARCS will move over to late December. For newsletter subscribers, I might be able to release the first three chapters of Rising Dawn on Christmas!

💚The shop will temporarily close, but Rising Dawn will still be available for preorder if you want to take advantage of the swag gift offer.

What does this mean for me?

The new release date will cause a shift in my schedule for the next books planned for both Chronicles and Guardians. King’s Kiss will likely become a summer release instead of spring, then GOTM 5 will release late 2025. It’s been nonstop writing and publishing since the release of Divine Blood. I need a little break.

Of course, I will still be here keeping you updated on everything behind the scenes with new snippets, merch, and art. Speaking of, check out the glorious art I have for you below!

Swoon with me over one of the most beautiful art pieces I have ever commissioned. @selenada.art has officially become my favorite artist because look at this stunning work. I swear she paints with magic in every stroke. The colors, the details, THE WAY HE IS LOOKING AT HER. My boy, Klyde, is smitten. How could he not be when Lucenna is absolutely beautiful. And doesn’t he look so handsome all cleaned up? I still can’t stop staring at it.

I don’t have a title for this artwork yet, but it will be featured in the Rising Dawn Print Pack, and it is from a scene in the book. I think you will be melting over what happens next. 🔮

GOTM merch:

Dyna plushie and dagger samples have arrived, and they look amazing. I will save that book box spoiler for the end of this email incase some of you may prefer to be surprised.

Other art commissions have been in the works for a bit now like new Zev art and a group illustration of all the Guardians.

Chronicles merch:

You know I also had to get more King’s Bride art and maybe a couple *cough* NSFW art for both book 1 and book 2. I saw the sketch for King’s Kiss exclusive under the dust jacket art and I might have screamed. 👀

I have also picked out the colors for Jokull and Sunneva’s pin! It’s big, it’s beautiful, and it’s magical. Reveal coming soon.

Oh, Cassiel. My poor sad boy. He made some bad choices, and believe me, he pays for them. Dyna does NOT take it easy on him. She is mean and petty and he grovels through all of it. ❤️‍🔥

I Have Amazing News … And Some Bad News

Hey Guardians,

Fall is coming and I am so ready for the leaves to change and for all the holiday decorations. Life is always busy for me around the desk with new things coming like new merch, new art, and new books! But sometimes, it’s not always all sunshine and rainbows. Settle in everything because I have lots to share today in this month’s blog post.

First things first, I have to share some bad news. Earlier this month, my printer announced a discount increase authors must give to bookstores to continue having our books available for sale in their stores. Unfortunately, that is forcing many authors like myself to increase book prices merely to continue earning a living off our books. It’s very upsetting because we already struggle to stay competitive in affordability against traditional book prices, not to mention there was an increase earlier this year due to paper costs.

What does this mean for you? Both hardbacks and paperbacks in US bookstores will reflect this new pricing. This change may cause concern among my readers, but there is hope. International readers can take a sigh of relief as this price adjustment is US only. Furthermore, I want to assure my readers that I will maintain the current book prices on my website and on Amazon paperbacks.

This situation is unfortunate and I apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. I am actively seeking ways to make my books more accessible to everyone. Your support and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Look at him! 😍 Rawn is the sweet elf daddy of the Guardian group. Full of wisdom, this honorable warrior is quick with a bow, lethal with a blade, and completely dedicated to his family. For those who didn’t know, he was inspired by my girl crush on Legolas when I was younger lol.

I really love Dyna. I'm so proud of how far my girl has come. Her character has gone through so much and she only keeps changing as she grows and perseveres. She's a whole new person in Rising Dawn. A little reckless, a little violent, and a little bit mad.

Each book I write is a challenge, and Rising Dawn is no different. From prose, to new POVs, and heartbreaking themes, this book really does take my whole heart. Sometimes, it’s difficult to write because it’s hard on me to see these characters I love go through so much. It’s a journey of a lifetime and I have a feeling I will come out of it differently at the end, too.

💚 Pre-order for the Rising Dawn exclusive edition and book box drops August 11th at 10AM EST for newsletter subscribers. VIP members will get first access at 9:30AM EST. Both lists will receive an email with a special password to access the store at their respective times.

If you ordered a box last year, you were automatically added to the VIP list. Anyone purchasing the Rising Dawn box this year will also be added to the list. While we will have a limited amount of boxes and editions available on pre-order day, there will be enough books for the newsletter list to have a chance to order the exclusive editions before the store opens to the public on August 12th.

What’s Going on Behind the Desk

Hey Guardians!

How has your summer been? Mine has been busy! So much has been going on behind the scenes as I plan many more books to come, the campaign for Rising Dawn, and new merch coming to the shop. I have a lot to update you on in this month’s newsletter, so settle in.

King’s Bride released on May 23rd and the day was phenomenal. I had so much fun with everyone during the release day party. I am so grateful for everyone’s support and reviews. This was a new book in a new series and genre, so I didn’t know what to expect, but the response has been amazing.

King’s Bride got a #1 New Release tag on Amazon. Thank you so much!

It took me a little bit, but I am finally done shipping out all King’s Bride pre-orders with their swag goodies. Ebook swag was mailed out too.

We remain on schedule. Books are estimated to begin shipping mid-July. We are only waiting on the last couple pieces of art by @Sallteas that will be featured in the book, and they are almost done. Here is a little peek below!

The art by @sallteas will also be available as prints and overlays in the shop soon. The overlays will both fit the paperback and hardback of both the regular and exclusive edition. I also have plans for King’s Bride pin.

And because I am not done showering you with special news, I have another announcement! I have been asked over and over for a special edition paperback of King’s Bride with the cover art, so you’re getting it!

What’s next in the Chronicles of Urn series?

Book two! King’s Kiss is coming in early 2024. When I saw the finished artwork, I swooned. Salome knocked it out of the park again. I love it so much and it’s very hard to keep it to myself. (You can find a hint of who book two will be about on the Chronicles page, but it’s a spoiler if you haven’t read King’s Bride yet.)

I should be taking a break from writing but that lasted about a week. I am already starting on Rising Dawn. It’s slow drafting without pressure. Just letting things flow while I enjoy my summer. If you follow me on Instagram, I have been sharing some snippets from my WIP in my stories, which are saved to my highlights. (Cassiel’s spoiler snippet was shared in the Guardians Facebook page) I am super excited for this book and I can already tell it will be an emotional one as the Guardians learn to heal and to forgive. I can’t wait to share more with you.

Cover reveal is July 3rd along with a synopsis and release date.

I have a special pre-order gift planned for you too!

Will there be a Rising Dawn exclusive edition? Absolutely! I already have artists lined up with some new ones like @cebanart and @ghostinthegvrden, plus previous favorites like @morgana0anagrom and @petit_kitsune. When I took this photo yesterday I stared at it for a long time.

I made this.

With my own hands, my own mind, my hard work, and my determination I published four books. Plus eleven other editions. That’s not something small. Nor is it insignificant. I need to remind myself of that sometimes.

Lately, I have been feeling stagnant in my career as an author. I feel like I am not growing and improving as much as I should be. The journey of being a published author has been a mix of emotions for me. On one hand, it has been incredibly rewarding to see my books find success and reach readers all over the world. It's amazing to have found a community that supports and loves my stories. However, the journey has also had its fair share of challenges.

One of my biggest battles has been with impostor syndrome. This crippling voice lurks around me with each book, making me doubt my abilities and question whether I truly belong in this industry. It's a constant struggle, but a quote from Vinh Giang helped me push through. “Change the way you view impostor syndrome. It’s not your enemy. It’s your friend that’s telling you ‘don’t be sh*t. Don’t get complacent. Remember to keep getting better.”

Despite the ups and downs, the journey has been an amazing adventure. I am not a perfect writer, and I am still learning, but I made this. These pages carry my heart, my tears, and my dreams. And I will keep making more. My goal with every book I put out there is always to make each one better than the last.

To all of my readers, whether you have been with me from the beginning or joined recently, thank you all for being here with me. I'm excited for what the future holds and can't wait to continue sharing my stories with the world.

When the story of Jökull and Sunnëva first came to me while writing Bonded Fate, I had no idea what it would become. I only knew that it had to be told. I’ve always wanted to write a Beauty and the Beast fairytale, and for it to mean something to every reader.

King’s Bride is a love story about healing the scars in your heart, about grieving over what you lost and never had, about growing and forgiving yourself. It’s a dark tale based on impossibilities and how far you could go if you believe.

I embed a piece of heart and some of my tears in all of my books, because I grow with these characters and I heal with them, too. This was book was no different.

King’s Bride is funny, it’s dark, it's sad, it’s steamy and it might make you believe in happily ever after.

King’s Bride ARC

How was your Easter weekend? I can’t believe it’s April already. We are just six weeks away from the release of King’s Bride! 😱

Lots of new things are coming! Last month I got to celebrate the release of Shattered Souls’ audiobook now available on Audible. I have been very busy lately with writing, planning out my book release schedule, and making plans for all the fun stuff I have for you coming soon.

First news, the ebook for King’s Bride will have the beautiful art by Salome Totladze on the cover! It was just too beautiful to not display it further. Since she will do the artwork for all the Chronicle books going forward, it just made sense.

Here is my book map for the Chronicles series. Each standalone book follows a different couple and is based on a legend mentioned in the Guardians series. You may be able to guess a few of them. 😉

✨PSA: the Chronicles of Urn is a prequel series to the Guardians of the Maiden, but it is New Adult fantasy romance. While in the same world, it’s much darker and contains both triggering and explicit content. I just wanted to give a friendly warning to my readers who may not want to venture in that genre. I have written King’s Bride in a way that you won’t miss any major details if you decide to skip it or get spoilers if you read out of order.

What’s Next

NEW ART:

Amazing news! I am so ecstatic to share with you that I have commissioned @sallteas to create art for King’s Bride page overlays. I absolutely love her work. This is the first time I am offering art in this format and I cannot wait. They will be available for pre-order soon! 🤩

BOOKS:

It’s been non-stop writing and planning for me since I fist published Divine Blood. I love what I do, but I sometimes get lost in my work and I have to remind myself to take care of myself, too. After King’s Bride, I will take a much needed summer vacation to recharge my brain. It needs to be in tip-top shape so I can keep writing those heart-wrenching plot lines. 🥹

Coming up first will be the German edition of Bonded Fate. I initially estimated a fall release, but I think the book will be out sometime in July.

After that comes the much awaited Rising Dawn! I hope you can forgive me after the ending of Shattered Souls. I promise I will make it up to you with book four. It’s in WIP form at the moment with scenes coming to me every day. The cover is finished and so beautiful! I will share that with you in June.

New Guardians Merch

Hey Guardians!

Spring is here and the sun is out. What are your plans for March? I can finally say the draft for King’s Bride is finished! I will spend most of this month editing and polishing the manuscript before it’s ready for ARC readers. I had so much fun writing this book, getting to know these characters, and flesh out more of Urn’s beginning. Can’t wait to share it with you.

Surprisingly, King’s Bride was the fastest book I have ever written. It came together a lot easier than I thought since it’s a complete story, I didn’t have to weave in so many details with a series, and most of the world is already set. The one thing I did struggle with a little was learning about two new characters I was not already familiar with. But the more time I spent with Jokull and Sunneva, the more I got to discover who they are. She is straight forward, hotheaded and ride or die for her family. He is action first ask questions later, a bit of a savage yet thoughtful (when it comes to her), and a shameless flirt.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this book! It has been fun getting learn about Jokull and Sunneva, and the version of Urn that they live in. It’s the age of the Everfrost where the land is rampant with demons and monsters. And Jokull is not the only God wandering around.

While their story is mostly separate from the main plot of the Guardians of the Maiden series, but you will see some connections to their world in the present, along with origins of some of the characters.
