Can you believe this is the last month of 2021? I felt like the year just zoomed by. Seemed like yesterday that I was barely sharing the news of Bonded Fate’s upcoming release. Exclusive Edition Box News

I have been asked several times if I will bring back the exclusive editions and the answer is YES! The exclusives will return next summer when it is time to pre-order the exclusive edition box for Shattered Souls. Book 1 and 2 will be sold by themselves as add-ons. I still have some of the past merch for those boxes too. Once those have sold out, they will not be restocked.

If you have any bookish shops you love, favorite artists, or items you would like to see in an upcoming box, I want to hear about it. ❤️

I know it’s late (my schedule keeps me busy!), but we will finally hold the Instagram photo challenge for both the Starlight box and Sunlight box. The prompts will include all the box tiers so no one is left out, and I will pick 3 winners in honor of book three.

I spent my weekend packing Sunlight and Wishes boxes. Can't wait for all of you to see the amazing box we prepared for you. So many talented artists and shops joined in. I think you really will adore everything we put together.

Around the Desk

Since I have been pretty busy with boxes, I’m slowly working on book three of the Guardians series in the background. Mostly outlining and drafting scenes as they come to me. I have been sharing some snippets during Q&As in my Instagram stories, so if you’re anxious for any updates, you can find them in my highlights under WIP Book 3.

On the DL, I quietly posted the title for book three on Goodreads last week, and King’s Oath was placed under a new series title. It changed from a novella to a full novel and it’s going to be part of a companion standalone fantasy series that takes place in the same world of Urn, but these are all stories of the past. Want a hint? These tales have been mentioned throughout the Guardians series. More details on that next month. 👀

New Things Are Coming

It’s fall ya’ll!

Ok that was cheesy, but I love the fall season! Sweater weather, the colorful leaves, pumpkin patches, cozy blankets, and fire places. It’s my favorite. Do you have any plans or favorite traditions? This is when we like to binge watch all our favorite movies and TV shows, which is perfect because I have roped my husband into helping me assemble and pack book boxes.

Speaking of book boxes, I have an update.

The Sunlight and Wishes box has been rescheduled to ship between late November - to late December, along with restocks. They boxes were supposed to begin shipping last week in September, but my book printer has been having some issues, which may be related to the worldwide paper shortage. I am working to find a solution. This might mean using another printer to get these books printed, regardless, it’s clear the boxes may ship 1-3 months later than planned.

🥳 UPDATE 10/20: Boxes are set to ship mid-November.

The boxes and the merch are all here and ready to go, we are only waiting for the books. I will send another email with an update when I know more. I am very sorry about this. As an extra gift, I’m including the Zev art print for everyone.

I do have good news about these exclusives: The bonus chapter is by Rawn. It’s an introduction to his POV, which I plan to have in book three.

And after some testing, Bookish Signs and I have decided to change the sprayed edges from orange to shimmery maroon to better match the cover and the box theme.

Big Announcement!

I am so excited to finally reveal my current project! I am working with Nerdy Book Box on an special edition book box to celebrate their one year. Divine Blood was the first book they launched last year for their subscribers, and they have asked me to return to celebrate their anniversary. What does that mean? Pluma Press and NBB will release a white paperback of Bonded Fate. We are planning all sorts of exclusive goodies in this box, including a limited edition enamel pin and character cards. Check out Rawn’s below!

The box is projected for November-December and preorders are now open. There is also a second box option to pre-order both Bonded Fate and Divine Blood’s white paperback, so you can snag both. These books will contain my digital signature. Preorders close October 31st.

Restocks and New Merch!

Hello my lovelies, how was your August?

I’ll start September’s newsletter by saying my launch month went spectacular! Thanks to all the readers, friends, authors, and teams who supported me along the way. Bonded Fate reached #1 new release on Amazon, and hit bestseller along with Divine Blood. It means a lot that you love this series as much as I do.

Now my full focus will be on getting Sunlight and Wishes boxes packed up. All items have arrived, merch has taken over my house, and exclusives have been ordered to be painted. Boxes will begin shipping mid-September, along with all the Starlight boxes that have been on hold.

And because this is a newsletter, I of course have big news to share.

There has been an outcry for restocks and I have heard you loud and clear. So I will be doing a ✨ VERY LIMITED ✨ restock of both the Starlight and Sunlight boxes for newsletter subscribers only. When I say limited, I mean I only have a handful.

First come first serve! I highly recommend having the shop page open ready to go a couple minutes before opening. Check out with your chosen box ASAP. Adding to cart does not guarantee your box until its been purchased, so please proceed to check out right away. Then return to the shop to browse the other items.

For this time only, I will also offer a new option of buying single editions of the exclusives for those who don’t want merch or don’t manage to get a box. These will also be in limited quantity. If you missed out the first time, this is your FINAL chance.

Fun fact: when I wrote the first draft of Divine Blood a couple years ago, it included the major events of book two. But the book was way too long, so the last third was cut, and Divine Blood ended right on that cliff. Which many of you were not too happy about. (#sorrynotsorry 😎) The piece I ended up cutting then became the bones of Bonded Fate.

Time for the final Bonded Fate teaser. I’ve loved putting all of these together for you. They’re merely a sneak peek of the rollercoaster ride.

Our main trio go through so much in this book. In a way, I did too. Book two really took the story to new heights and challenged me as an author. My goal for each chapter was to draw out an emotion in my readers. So if you feel anything at all while reading Bonded Fate, whether it’s anger, sadness, excitement, grief, joy, or even annoyance, I may have succeeded. If a mob comes after me, well, then I definitely did. 😉

A lot of people helped support me and my books coming into the world. From my spouse, to all my teams, friends, and of course, all of YOU, the readers. One day a few years ago, I made a wish to not only share my stories with the world, but to share it with people who would fall in love with these characters as much as I did. And I can truly say it’s come true.

Launch Party and Bonded Fate Sneak Peek!

How was your fourth of July weekend? Mine was a nice little break from work, but now I am back and racing to get everything ready for the release of Bonded Fate. It’s less than a month away!

I have so many fun things planned for you. There will be several giveaways on Instagram starting July 7th and will continue throughout the month of August! “If you would like a distraction, I thought I might offer a new lesson,” Cassiel said.

His eyes roved over her face, taking in the tension of her brow and the firm set of her lips. Wherever he looked, Dyna felt the featherlight impression of his touch, exploring her the way he’d done on the cliff.

“A knife and bow are but tools—the true weapon is the one who wields them.” Cassiel removed a knife from his boot and flipped it in his hand, presenting it to her hilt first.

The black handle shone with an iridescent swirl of blue and green, the sunlight gracing the beautifully etched design on the blade. He held her gaze, his silver eyes full of grueling promises and something unknown that should have frightened her, but Dyna’s pulse rushed with nervous anticipation, wanting whatever he was offering. The corner of Cassiel’s mouth curled in a subtle smirk that scattered her thoughts as it had the first time she’d seen it.

“If you wish to learn how to fight, then brace yourself, Dynalya,” he said, his voice low and dark. “For when I’m finished, you will know exactly where and how to cut.”

The way he looked at her sent a rush of thrill along her skin. “You’ll teach me?”

“Is that not what you asked?”

It was. Though she’d half expected him to change his mind.

Dyna carefully accepted the knife and glanced at the trees. “Zev will not approve.”

“I have already spoken to him. I’m merely teaching you with the purpose of defense, not how to kill.”

Zev was worried about that? She couldn’t imagine ever killing someone.

Cassiel reached in his coat and removed a thin leather belt. From it dangled an empty sheath. “This is yours.”

He took a step, then hesitated, waiting for her reaction. When she didn’t move, his arms came around her waist and she held her breath. A tremble sank through her spine and her chest tightened with the conflicting need to escape him—or to get closer.

But he was careful, barely touching her as he fastened the belt on her waist.

Once it was buckled in place, with the sheath laying on her hip, Cassiel stepped back and looked her over, dragging a thumb along his bottom lip. “It is certainly … becoming.”

Divine Blood Exclusive

Hey readers!

Can you believe one year ago today I released Divine Blood into the world? And in exactly two months, Bonded Fate will make its debut. They look so beautiful together.

The Divine Blood Starlight and Wonder boxes are nearly complete so, I thought I’d give you a tiny sneak peek!

     

I worked with @bookish_pearl to create a Cassiel candle for the Starlight and Wonder box and a Zev candle for the Moonlight and Dreams box. Believe me when I say these smell INCREDIBLE.

Below you’ll find the exclusive edition! The first page of each chapter is inverted with a different motif to represent each character. The naked cover features the beautiful Aim for the Stars artwork by Alice Maria Power, and there is a quote from the book on the back.

My plan is for each exclusive edition in the series to have a different artist. Bonded Fate will feature artwork by Salome Totladze, and I have already commissioned another talented artist who will draw the art for book three. I may be a little obsessed with art.

         

As an extra surprise, we decided to upgrade the Starlight mini box from matte edges to shimmery black edges! 🤩

FAVORITE READS OF MAY EPIC FANTASY

I really enjoyed The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer Armentrout. This is the third book in the Blood and Ash series. Loved seeing Poppy grow into herself. The book started with a bang and ended with one, too.
