Bout of Books - Day 4

This was not a good week for Bout of Books. A friend who's also doing it agrees. Just other stuff popping up, so we've done anything but read for the most part. On Wed, I finished my one book - bringing my total to 3 - and read half of another. SMH. So bad - for me. I stay at home and I read a lot, so I typically do at least 10 books for Bout of Books and that's on the low side.

Bookish Matchmaking - I tend to read all the books others aren't - especially women may age. While many read chick-lit (yuk) and books meant to make you cry (no thanks) I read more "guy books". I'll take guns blazing over sharing feelings any day. And while I read some shorter romantic suspense for the read-a-thons cuz they are quick and easy - I'd really rather not read more romance. Funny, since I'm editing (well I was before BoB week) the 2nd book of my Erotic Romance series. Still, it's different when 1 - I'm writing it and 2 - it's got naughty fun delicious sex in it! :)

So, I dunno that you all can help me but on the off chance you can - I'm always looking for:

Bout of Books - Day 3

Day 2 was a lot of other things other than reading! I'm on an Amazon Wish List group and I sent out a bunch of "blessings" as they are called. And I finalized my plans for my gaming PC upgrade, will likely purchase it Friday. I went back and forth with a guy on ebay over some Build-a-Bear plushes I'm getting from him (I collect them) and I hung out with my Hubby after He got home. I listened off and on to my book, for 4 hours total, just missed finishing it but I did the last hour this morning.

If I could get any book into a movie, of course it would be The Night Circus - but it would have to be done PERFECTLY!! :)

Bout of Books - Day 2

Day 2 was a lot better day in that it wasn't all over the place. Mainly, I was hyper all day which meant that... yup, not much reading. Finished a 2nd book and that was about it. Typically by this point I would have finished like 5 or 7, even if some shorter ones. But that's alright.

I did some giving on an Amazon Wish List group, and that was fun. I've always enjoyed giving to others but not had the means for several years. I also looked over my choices for what I want to do with upgrading or building a completely new PC. I finally decided on upgrading, but haven't bought anything yet.

I hope today to at least get in some more listening at some point. We'll see if I can settle enough to.

Bout of Books - Day 1

The obligatory - I'm Karsyn @ KaKiJoKoJa - posting here now.

So Bout of Books came at a bad tie for me. Monday was a roller coaster of stuff. Ugh. It ended up all being ok but we didn't know that until Tuesday. So on Monday I got all of one book read, didn't post my intro, even though I'm reluctantly on Twitter now.

Then there's today. Yup, no books again. I've been caught up in other things - mainly trying to decide if I want to upgrade my PC or build a new one. So I don't know how productive I'll be this week, and I'd wanted to read at least 10 books. Hopefully one of the days I can settle down enough to do so! We'll see.

Here's me in 6 words, with a new addition
Naughty reader, AUTHOR, and computer gamer!

Holy Shit. Still, over a month later, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I have a book. I'm self-published, but by choice. Am I good enough for traditional publishing? Considering some stuff that's trad published - probably - but I don't like how long it takes and how many people are involved. I can do it myself, thank you very much. I may never be a best seller, but 1 - I didn't start writing with the goal to be and 2 - I'm pretty niche, so although crappy books in my genre got big - that's rare.

I write erotic romance, and have the first book of a series out, along with a novelette prequel. Here's a few links if you'd like to learn more. I'll try not to talk about it too much. :) Links to my books are at the end of my posts.

Now that you're caught up. Today's Bijou Bugle subject:
The Studio's Rooms - Log Cabin
In my book, Natural Exposure, the Main Character - Kenzie - owns a HUGE photography studio. In her teens she worked briefly at mall portrait studios and hated it, thought they were stiff, boring, and impersonal. She had dreams to build her own.

When those dreams were made reality, she went nuts. You'll have to read Natural Exposure to get the full scope of just how big it is, but for now, I thought I'd share the first room you discover within the book.

Her studio is called - Natural Exposure - and I can see it as plain as can be in my head - so much so that I have a floorplan for the whole studio. While I didn't include those plans in the books, it's something I've thought about having with a deluxe edition down the road, once all the rooms are revealed, because in Natural Exposure, you don't get to see all of them - as neither does Ripley, Kenzie's romantic interest.

First, Ripley sees the Log Cabin, and now here, you do as well. While it's not perfect, because the floorplan is a little limiting, this is the basics of what the Log Cabin looks like within the studio.

My Gaming PC - Widget

NOTE --- I don't feel well (just a headache) but didn't want to skip posting. So tonight I'm telling you about when I built my gaming PC. I originally posted this February 18th, 2015 when I finished building him. I thought I'd share this now, because I might be upgrading and/or building a new PC soon. Hope you enjoy this little blast into the the past.

A few months back (November-ish, I think it was) I started kicking around the idea of building my own PC. What was once just a brief thought, turned into an obsession, and now, a reality!! I officially have a Gaming PC and he is GLORIOUS!!

A few days ago, I started out with a bunch of parts. Not pictured below (because I didn't think to take a photo before I put it together) is the HDD, memory and LED light strip.



With some time and not much effort (it really was pretty easy, seeing into the thing was the hardest part) I now have a beautiful Black/Red gaming PC. Come meet ~

I can't believe it's here and it's finally done and it's working like a DREAM!! The first night, I tried to play some Dead Rising 3 on just the integrated graphics card and it said NOPE!! It tried, but boy was it bad. I was able to play some Portal 2 though, so that was good. Then I got my Graphics Card in the next day and Dead Rising was AMAZING. It was crazy to see the difference from just the day before.

I love my gaming PC. Now, I think it's time for me to go kill some more zombies! :)

WIP Quote #1 (Book 2)

I'm working on re-writes of Book 2 still. I'd hoped to get them done in April during Camp NaNoWriMo, but the sudden appearance of "A Discovery of BDSM" popped in my head and I spend nearly two weeks writing it and putting it out on Kindle Unlimited. Do you prefer full novels on KU or only Novellas and Short Stories? I'm not in love with KU but I think it's a good place for my Novelette. I dunno that I'll put my novel on there, as I planned when Book 2 comes out. I dunno. If I didn't have to commit for 90 days I'd give it a try.

Anyways, today is about Quotes. :)

The #WriteLGBTQ prompt this past weeks was for "Wait" and while I gave a Twitter sized Quote using it, I thought I'd give a little more of a taste of what was happening in that scene.

The Quote:
The door opens and I turn, staring slack-jawed at Ripley. As always, my breath catches. I’ve seen her nude, clothed, and in bathing suits, but I’m never not blown away by her beauty. Now, she wears a suit I haven’t seen before, one of a sea green, highlighting the color of her eyes. A halter top contains her large breasts and high waist bottoms match. She dips her head at my attention, smiling shyly. I growl as I stalk towards her, take her face in my hands, and kiss her hard. When I tear my lips from hers, I step back, admiring the view once more.

“Lake will have to wait…” I whisper before reclaiming her lips.

Ripley giggles and presses into me, her soft and supple body fitting just right to mine. Her arms circle me, and she pulls herself closer as we deepen the kiss. Not breaking contact, I maneuver her around the room until she backs into the bed, then I pull free and grasp the bottom of the halter top, tugging it upward with slow deliberateness. My attention remains fixed on her contained breasts and I groan when they drop free — full and large, with nipples hardened in pleasure. I yank the top off and toss it to the floor before hefting her tits in my hands, lowering my head and feasting first on one turgid tip then the other. She moans and throws her head back in bliss. I never tire of Ripley’s massive chest and responsive nipples, swirling my tongue over one before nipping it with my teeth. My fingers pluck the other nub, pinching and pulling, increasing her cries.

Things I'm ...watching #1

This week on "Things I'm Watching"

Tonight my Husband and I watched Into the Spider-verse for the first time. We're woefully behind on most movies - we JUST completed our first ever watch-thru of the MCU though we had seen 3 of them, they were all we saw until we started watching them in chronological order last year.

Since finishing up with MCU, we've moved onto the Fast & the Furious franchise. He's seen most of them, but not all, while I've never seen any - except the first now.

Tonight I was in the mood for Into the Spider-verse since we've been playing Spider-Man on PS4 again.

I LOVED it. It was so wild & trippy. It was great!! I wish the next one was out already, AND I was super stoked that I caught the voice of Spider-Man Noir!

In TV this week - we're keeping up with The Masked Singer - only 2 more left. Booo. And we've been working our way through the first season of Big Hero 6 the Series.
