How I write… 1

I go through a few steps in order to write. None are complicated, and anyone CAN do it. It just takes a few steps.

But first, there are two basic styles of writing… Pantsing and Plotting.

I’ll start with Plotting, since I don’t really do that. I want to, but my characters generally make some drastic change to the direction of my story and the whole “plotting” thing goes in the can. Usually around the third page. Read More

“Pantsing” is some sort of made up euphemism for “writ...

Beta Readers

If you want to grab a FREE ebook, just sign up for my newsletter… The form is right over there —>

Beta Readers are a thing… a glorious and wonderful thing. Just like a beta tester gets early releases of software and finds the glitches and the issues with the user interface, Beta Readers do something similar with a novel. Read More

The process I personally use involves me writing (usually with some inline correction of errors… glaring, obvious errors). Then, I try to check for spelling,...

Surprises…

Don’t forget, you can grab a FREE ebook for signing up for my weekly newsletter… It’s just over there —->

I would like to get some of the incomplete stories finished… but they haven’t all revealed themselves, yet. However, there was one interesting story element that just popped onto the radar.

One of the stories that is in the hopper is a tech/thriller thing. And one of the “minor” characters just let me know who he really is… He’s from another series (obviously, Dixon=Prince since ...

Groovy Happenings

Pushing ahead with a new feature a weekly (or so) newsletter.

I dont plan on making this overwhelming, just a weekly newsletter that summarizes what is happening on the blog, and ads info about new releases and sales, before they happen. Read More

Planning Vengeance clip 10

This is one of the excerpts from the beginning of Planning Vengeance – Broken Path Part I on Amazon (Kindle link). It’s currently only $2.99. This is the first part of the Dixon-Prince series. It would make a great series to read over Christmas vacation.

When he came home from school that afternoon, Paul slipped a gun from his brother’s room and went out to his car.  Seeing Amy and Jack together, laughing and having fun was too much for him.  Their lesson time had come.  He had thought of a...

What is Kindle Unlimited?

Kindle has two programs that allow readers to read books for “free.” I’m throwing quotes around that because the definition of “free” changes between the two programs. Read More

The first one is Prime Reading. With this program, if you are an Amazon Prime member, you can read any enrolled book for free. I’m a Prime member, but I don’t know that I have actually read a book from Prime Reading. I just haven’t run across anything that grabbed me.

The second is Kindle Unlimited. KU...

NaNoWriMo

Maybe you’ve heard of it, maybe you haven’t, but NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. The idea is simple… set aside a month and write a novel. You can jump into the organization and take advantage of the community support, or you can just do it. And the month that is set aside for this undertaking is November.

This year, I have at least two friends that participated specifically in NaNoWriMo. One actually sent me a copy of his manuscript Saturday night, and hopefully in the next few...
