Speechless

You know the pretty people who can talk their way out of a speeding ticket? $120
Free Shipping Included in US and Canada
Larunda managed to weasel her way out of a trip to the Underworld and on return had Mercury fall in love with her and they had two babies.

And all this she was able to do
without her tongue!Which is why this vase is called
“Gossip Girl”

Gossip Girlpays tribute to a nymph renowned for her beauty named Larunda. Larunda was also known for another trait. She talked a lot. Her parents, try as they might, could not curb this trait and her love of gossip.

(you can read the story for this vase here).

Whether up close Or further backLarunda always has something to say.

What do you imagine this
raku vase might be saying?

On the wheel Wednesday – Trim

In today’s ‘On The Wheel Wednesday’ post,

We will talk about letting go of and trimming the things that no longer serve us so it is only appropriate that I share some pictures of one of my favourite studio activities – trimming the bottoms of mugs.

Much like when I trim on a mug on the wheel

You may find yourself at a point in your life where you want to trim away things that no longer serve you thus allowing you to be your best self.

Letting go of these things or patterns

And refining our perceptions allows us to find new beauty within. It allows our best self and light to shine brighter, and in doing so we can find our feet again and stand taller.

Are there things you would like to let go of? Perceptions and thoughts or patterns you are looking to change?

If so, I would like to offer you an invitation to participate in our communal project of healing. You can find out more about our ‘Healing Vase‘ project in the video below, and participate by visiting here and adding your healing request on that page.

Have a beautiful day everyone!

I’m Urning It

A friend of mine recently had some sad news.

Their 18 year old house cat finally headed out on the rainbow road and her essence left this earth. From my past experience, when one loses a pet, it is like losing a family member. The loss of a pet leaves a hole in one’s heart and sadness in the soul.

My friend inquired if I had any urns that would be appropriate for pets as they wanted to purchase one. I had only made one urn before, but I volunteered to make them one. Looking past their grief, they suggested that I should be making them for others who have lost a pet. So while I was making an urn for their beloved kitty I made a prototype to add to the site:

I am really pleased with both how this piece and the one for my friend turned out and I will be adding it for sale and am in the process of making others. I hope to provide people with a beautiful, one of a kind, and affordable alternative in their time of grief to the commercial urns that are on the market. A cherished piece of beauty, much like the beloved they’ve lost.

The experience of making an urn was surprisingly beautiful, and of course a little sad. My friend was very happy with what I made for them (in a different glaze than this one), and the thought I was able to bring them a little bit of light in their time of sadness was both a relief and a blessing.

What colours do you think would help people find peace and comfort in their time of peace when losing a cherished four legged family member?

Please let me know in the comments below.

Thank you for reading this post, and for all those who have lost a pet

may you find healing and peace. 🙏

Recently Rakued

Getting new pieces from the kiln

When I have a moment to relax, it’s always a nice boost to my mood to look over each piece and follow the cracks to see what interesting journeys they may take me on.

This past weekend we were able to complete a raku firing which means these beautiful new works will soon be coming to the site for sale, but before they do, I would like to invite you to be among the first to view this new art work!

Here is a sneak peak! For me, the bubbles on this vase evoke a watery wonderland. But more importantly, what do you See? And how do you like our latest addition to the vase Family? If you like this colour,
but are less keen on the bubbles

🐈 In Honour Of The Greatest Most Wonderful, Incredible Chairman Meow 🙏

A message from our fearless leader and Chairman of Everyone’s hearts, Studio Kitty Extraordinaire CHAIRMAN MEOWTo my beloved friends, fans, and devotees

I have asked the human minions to transmit this message to all of you lovely folks on my behalf.

As you may have seen in our ‘this week in photos’ post, I did not have a good Halloween.

While exploring the giant jack-o-lantern,

I fell in.

Curse you, vegetable prison!

To cheer me up and honour me,

I have instructed the stooges to create ornaments in my liking so that I may use them as decorations on the sacrificial tree they bring into my home at the time when it is too cold out to escape. I sense this time is coming soon.

To say the least, I am most displeased at their creative choices. They will pay for this!fear not!

I have already instructed them to create a new ornament portraying me as the angel I am, and if they do not do so, I will go on strike at the studio until they do!

grey cat and box of clay Look at me, I am the potter now!I hope for their sake

That my Christmas dreams of a sacrificial tree covered in swattable ornaments fashioned in my likeness comes true.

And I also hope all your dreams for Christmas come true too. 🌈 🐈 🌈

With great catlike indifference and a little bit of wrath for all ankles everywhere,

Chairman MeowSo what do you think?

Should we listen to our striking feline leader Chairman Meow and make an angel kitty ornament in raku white?
