Happy Halloween Everyone!

Talveons,
For those who celebrate Happy Halloween.
Personally, I'll be spending Halloween at the local church trunk a treat like we do every year. We love dressing up, giving out treats, and then coming back home to just snuggle and watch movies. Of course, I always wait until the kids have gone to bed for the good ones.
This year will be different since my oldest daughter reached 18 and officially moved out so she won't be joining us. It's definitely a learning curve for me of letting go and releasing the reigns so she can become the person she is meant to be. She knows we love her and that she's welcome back anytime.
Honestly, I still hate it.
Emotions and experiences are what make writers who we are. We take from our experiences and apply them to our writing. Needless to say, everything I have or will experience in life goes into my writing, either as a character, place, backstory, or plot so hopefully, I can adjust and keep going as always.
Speaking of which, I'm so excited to start Nanowrimo this year. Last year I didn't complete the 50,000 words in 30 days, but I have a feeling that this year will be different. I'm actually working on a new project that I got the inspiration for and feel it's the right time to give it some much-needed attention.
Hopefully, if all goes well I will publish this one and you can actually see it.
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.

Upcoming Event - Kearns, Utah!

Talveons,
One event ends and another pops up.
I'm so excited to be a part of the Kearns Community Market again on October 22nd, 2022.
I think they must like me or something at this point.
If you're in the area, swing by and say hi. I love talking with everyone.
Since it's only the 11th, as I'm writing this, I have a lot of planning and organizing to ensure everything is ready. That being said it is also Preptober. Basically the month before National Novel Writing Month so I'm planning what project I'll be working on, as well as ensuring my schedule will allow for the writing sessions I'm hoping to do.
I pretty much feel like I'm starting to grasp having a family, working part-time, and running a business but it's not an easy task. I have lots of sticky notes, calendars, organizational notepads, etc that help keep me on track day to day.
I'm so lucky to have an amazing husband and kids that I do so I can reach out for help when I need it. Although we all know that I like to 'suffer in silence' until it gets way too much.
I'm working on that. But you know, small steps.
So this month as I mentioned I'll be preparing my project for November and checking in on book 3 to see what needs to be done there. Then there is the event on October 22nd and finishing up the month with my second favorite holiday, Halloween.
For those wondering I will be a minion this year.
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.

The Event I've Been Training For...Forks, Washington!
Talveons,
It finally happened. I've been training for months by doing other events, and it was finally time to make the 16-hour drive, one way, to Forks, Washington for the Author event portion of the Forever Twilight in Forks Festival.

Needless to say, I freaked out when I saw the final schedule and there it was.
My name.
It made it all very real for me, very quickly.
I admit that when they told me via email the months before I cried for about 20 minutes. No joke. Yet seeing it officially on the schedule just hit a different. I may have cried again but not for as long.
The Author's event was held inside the Ki'tla Center Roundhouse, also known as the Quileute Roundhouse. It was so beautiful inside with a raised platform in the center that was where the actors were signing autographs, as I signed on the other side of the curtains.
Leading up to the event I was very, very nervous and quite honestly suffering from imposter syndrome. I felt all the authors were more successful, more knowledgeable, more well-known, best-selling, etc. Yet, as soon as I had the table set up some of my nerves went away as at that point it was out of my hands.
I'm happy to say that the event was a great success. I was able to make some sales, the giveaway was a hit and I was able to meet so many great people. It was so nice to see old friends and make new ones throughout the day. At the end of the day, I was exhausted but it was well worth it.
Thank you so much to everyone who was able to attend and who came to our table just to say hi. I appreciate every single one of you. Near or far. I can't express my gratitude to all my Talveons. Your love and support through everything really just mean so much. You will never know how much.
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.

What A Crazy Day! August 20th 2022.
Talveons,
Another month has come and gone. This month I had an event again in Kearns, Utah on August 20th, 2022.
Admittedly it wasn't my best event, although I think the crazy thunderstorm didn't help. But hey, I still made a few sales so I'm happy. And as you can tell from the video I took a break to have my face painted as well.
It definitely wasn't a smooth sailing day, check out the video for the details of the crazy day.

Had to scale back this time due to weather.

Had to get my face painted.
Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by and the amazing women behind the event. I'm so proud to have been a part of the event.
I also have to give a massive shout-out to one of my best friends, Bonnie Foy, who has been a force to be reckoned with when it comes to keeping me on track during each event this summer. Without her, it would have been way harder and at times honestly, a little lonely.
As we move into September it's the big event of the year that I've been training for, Forks Washington. Can't wait to see what crazy adventures we have.
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.

July Event Aftermath!

Talveons,
WOW.
The July event in Kearns, Utah was just incredible. I always love interacting with people and making them smile in any way that I can.
Each event I learn something new and this event was no different. It was my first outdoor event and boy, the weather kicked my butt. It was so freaking hot and I, being me, wore pants instead of shorts. A huge decision I was rethinking two hours in. We had no fans for our table and it was a lot.
Luckily being able to talk to a few people, drinking cold drinks, and making new friends made the experience all the better.
A few sales never hurt either.
I even received a shirt order a few days after the event. Awesome.
I tell you what though events are definitely hard work. With all the before preparation, the actual event day, and then all the inventory counting, etc after the fact it really did take me a few days to recover. I felt like I'd been working out hard at the gym for days after.
Of course, books are not exactly light things so moving boxes really get you a workout. And I'm sure that being out in the heat the entire time didn't help.
As I said though overall it was a fantastic experience and I was already accepted as a vendor for the same event on August 20th, 2022. Very exciting. I'll give you more information once I have some in the coming weeks. In the meantime, have a wonderful week everyone.
Always Keep Fighting.

Mental Illness Is Crazy!

Honestly, I wasn't sure I was going to post about this but screw it. I haven't made it a secret that I suffer from depression and chronic pain which just love to play off each other.
Recently I've been experiencing more health issues and we all know how depression loves a mental crack and boy did it all rush in. Now I've lived with my issues for a long time so I'm really good at pushing them back for a long time. Sadly everyone has their breaking point and as someone who pushes down all the crap, it doesn't take much to trigger me. Especially when I've pushed everything down for so long.
In this case, it was seriously the dumbest thing. Something out of my control, that really had nothing to do with me at all. Anyway, my emotions crashed and the best way I know to deal with the level I reached was to sleep.
I, in all honestly, slept from 7.30 pm to around 9 am the next day. It was not restful and definitely not long enough, which probably means it was way over. But for me, it helped.
Mental illness really is crazy and no joke. If you need help and you can't help yourself, definitely reach out to a professional and get help. And for the record, I've been to therapy and highly recommend it.
I'm also lucky that I have an understanding family and hubby who know my craziness and are supportive. I was able to sleep and though I'm not 100% I'm in a better place than yesterday.
The best advice I ever heard was everything changes. Good times and bad both change. Everything will not stay in one or the other but we need to roll with each one.
For me, it's getting into my positive space. When you're in the darkness you have to find your light, no matter how small it is at that time.
For the record, I always try a number of things to bring out my light.
Music. Movies. TV shows. Just whatever I need to do to turn everything around. This time it was watching Rupaul's Drag Race. Love that show.
In this blog I'm telling myself as much as everyone else:
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.

Exciting Updates!
Talveons,
It's been a minute so I hope you are all well and taking 2022 head-on.
So much has happened since the last email that I wanted to break down the updates.
- With books one and two published, I am currently working on book three. Can't wait for the next adventure to start.
- Completed 2 events. Kearns, Utah, and Lehi Farmers Market. Both were just amazing and such a learning experience. Big shout out to one of my best friends, Bonnie Foy, for helping me out. I honestly would have been lost without her help.
- Amazingly, at the Lehi Farmers Market I completely sold out of book one, Heritage: Beginning. And I took a good supply with me, which is just amazing.
This leads me to the exciting announcement. Since my copies of book one, Heritage: Beginning, sold out I decided to look into changing a few things. Sadly, it was still not the final polished product that I wanted and it was the perfect time to make the adjustments. As you can see the most obvious and perfect change was the book cover.

I'm completely in love with it as I feel it captures the main character's arrogant beginning with her head held high and shows how her world, literally, gets set on fire so she is forced out into the world.
Inside the book, the story has not been changed in any way. Nothing was removed or added in terms of the main story. The font may appear different but that is all. I was also able to add a new contents page, and a new copyright page, and sadly the Maltesh crest has been removed.
All the changes, in my opinion, make the book far more mainstream and keep a wonderful flow from start to finish. And I've already raved about the book cover.
My sister made jokes that now she'll have to buy it again, but I promise that was not my intention. I always struggled with the first book as it just didn't seem finished, yet with these updates, I can finally say this is what I wanted to offer from the start.
I'm calling this the 2nd edition so any that have already been purchased this specific book will have their own place in the series.
Though, of course, if you feel you want a new version I won't stop you.
I really hope everyone is well and I'm excited for the new cover and book 3. Let's do this.
As always:
