A Strange Visitation

A few years back, we had a strange visitation from a crow with broken legs. It was flying around the house and flopping at different places. We tried to get in touch with animal rescue teams and animal activist organisations to get some help, but it was evening, and they were on the other side of town. We tried but couldn’t even locate local veterinarians. When we asked Mohanji, Mohanji asked to get the crow in our space and make it comfortable. The bird kept flying away but eventually tired out...

Ageless Wisdom

In Mohanji’s early school days, the teacher asked all the children to write an essay on the topic, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” She expected the children to wax eloquent on their dream careers. Mohanji responded with a one-line essay, “I want to be alone.” His response offended the teacher, who took him to task for this unacceptable submission. Mohanji was non-plussed, wondering at the intensity of her reaction to what was a perfectly acceptable answer. The teacher thought that Moh...

Here and There, I am Everywhere

A Mohanji follower was deputed as an assistant priest at Sabarimala, a powerful temple of Lord Ayyappa, the son of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. The fellow assistants and the main priest did not consider Mohanji a real Master due to his appearance and dressing style. They frequently mocked Mohanji and also the follower for having a Master too flashy for their conservative expectations. Their disrespect to Mohanji pained the follower, and he prayed to Mohanji to display his stature and teach them a...

The Saviour of the Helpless

From Mishraji’s Diaries

Mishraji (Sandeep Miishra) was Mohanji’s personal assistant from June 2014 to March 2015. Possibly the first with many illustrious ones following in his great footsteps, including yours truly. I have mentioned his indelible print in my Mohanji journey in my first book, ‘Miraculous Days with Mohanji’. Many people in the Mohanji community from the older days know him well. He has been in hiding under a Macedonian rock in recent years surfacing at times in Balkan events. ...

Mohanji and Sai Baba are One

From Taiji’s Diaries

Many people in the Mohanji community know Taiji, a devout old lady deeply connected to Mohanji who has written the Mohanji ashtotari (the 108 names of Mohanji), sahasranaam (the 1008 names of Mohanji) and chalisa (the 40 verses of Mohanji). When Mohanji stayed in Dharamshala, Delhi was the closest major airport. Mohanji mostly stayed at her home in Delhi in those days. Hence, she was well acquainted with the many visitors who frequented her home to meet Mohanji. She also ...

A Wife From Another Life

In 2009, Mohanji had the first few of his programs in India at Delhi. The hotel chain, where Mohanji’s brother-in-law Ranveer then worked, organised the events. Each program had a hundred-odd people in attendance. The programs had satsang, question and answer sessions and concluded with people lining up individually for Shaktipat. When everyone left, a woman sitting at the back came to Mohanji and asked, “Do you remember me?” Mohanji looked at her intently and said, “In a past life, I was a Rajp...

A Doubting Thomas

A day before the end of the Rishikesh retreat in November 2014, Mohanji talked to a few participants about an experience in Serbia where he met an interesting person acquainted with him in a previous lifetime. The experience follows:

Once, a soon-to-be Mohanji follower stepped out of a coffee shop in Novi Sad, Serbia, leaving for home. He was accosted by a man who looked like a handyman based on his clothes, most likely a plumber. Our follower ignored the plumber and tried to walk away, but t...

The Deaf, Dumb and Mute Know-It-All

Though I met Him at satsangs twice before, I properly got acquainted with Mohanji during the 2014 Kailash pilgrimage. I attended the Rishikesh pilgrimage conducted soon after, where Mohanji asked me to stay in close proximity (you can read all about it in the 1st three chapters of my first book, Miraculous Days, with Mohanji). Since then, I have always made time to meet Mohanji when He was in India and also travelled with Him whenever time permitted. On one of those trips, Mohanji was staying at...

One Size Fits All

Before the trip to the remote Himalayan ashram (described in the Chapter ‘Secret Rendezvous to the Himalayas’ in the book ‘Baba: Mohanji and Masters’), Mishraji, his then P.A. discovered that he hadn’t packed Mohanji’s sandal. Hence, I went out to a nearby shop and bought them. Since I wasn’t aware of the foot size, I took a general guess based on Mohanji’s overall structure. When he wore them, it was a few sizes too big. Since I bought it during a pit stop, exchange was not an option. Further, ...
