An Unexpected Visitation

From Firoz’s Diaries

Most people in the Mohanji community from the olden days know Firoz, Mohanji’s driver and man Friday in Oman. When Mohanji subsequently left Oman for India in 2012, Firoz continued working there but remained deeply connected to Mohanji. For a brief while, he returned to India and became Mohanji’s cook and driver in Dharamshala and Bangalore before returning to Kerala and later Oman. Firoz is deeply connected to Mohanji and Sai Baba, gifted to see subtle dimensions of Moha...

Mohanji on the Lure of the Himalayas

The following are Mohanji’s thoughts on the lure of the Himalayas.

I like to walk in the Himalayas. Usually, I prefer to go alone, but nowadays, I cannot do so. Earlier, I always travelled alone and did not have to prove to anybody. Otherwise, people drag me to fanciful glittering places I don’t want to go. I like to go to places which matter and simply sit and meditate. People will say, “What is the use of sitting? Did you come all the way here to keep quiet? You could have sat at home.” You...

Small, Interesting Encounters

Vethathiri Maharishi was a powerful saint from Tamil Nadu who always told his followers in Tamil, ‘vaazhaga valamudan’, which Mohanji interpreted as ‘live as manure is to Earth’ – enriching but extremely humble. This is similar to Mohanji’s exhortation to ask ourselves every morning,”What more can I do for the world?” Mohanji met him in the early 2000s with an acquaintance and stayed at his ashram near the picturesque Aliyar dam for a night. Then, he was already ninety-plus years old and had num...

New Year’s with Lord Adi Shankara

Mohanji spent New Year’s Eve of 2012 at Sarvadnya Peetham, where the peerless master, Adi Shankara, performed severe spiritual austerities to please the Divine Mother and was blessed to have her darshan (holy sighting) and her promise to follow him as long as he did not turn back, which resulted in the mighty Mookambika Temple probably the only place that boasts the presence of the Divine Masculine and Feminine Trinity. The travel required a jeep ride to the base and a trek up the Kudajadri hill...

A Spiritual Opportunist

The last logistics company that Mohanji worked in the shipping industry was part of a suite of shipping companies in Oman. One of his colleagues studied Puttaparthi in Bhagavan Sathya Sai’s school and institutions. They both reported to the same boss. During his tenure, Mohanji, as the CEO, created three companies with three new and different agency networks under it from the single company that was his original charge. It was becoming hard to cope since each needed proper attention and handling...

The Unscrupulous Astrologers

During Mohanji’s last stint in the Middle East before returning to India, he worked in Oman and frequently drove down to Dubai over the weekend to conduct the Power of Purity meditations. He was just starting his public work. Some people who attended the meditations brought astrologers to test him since they were curious to know if he was legit and how he managed to attract people. On one occasion, while Mohanji was having a casual conversation over dinner with the participants after the meditat...

A Friend’s Friend

A few days back, I conversed with Mohanji’s first cousin, who fondly recollected his memories of Mohanji’s college days when Mohanji stayed at their house for a few years. He mentioned that Mohanji was always a magnet who attracted a huge group of friends around the neighbourhood in no time. He said Mohanji’s friend circle encompassed the entire spectrum – from the intellectuals to the rowdies and the studious to oddball pipe-smoking potheads. Mohanji also befriended and invited many foreign tou...

The Prodigal Ones

In December 2015, Mohanji was in Pune while travelling with a group. He was unwell, having taken some of the ills of an ailing Master he had met in Shirdi a day before. One group member was a close follower of another Master whom Mohanji highly respected. He frequently joined Mohanji during Mohanji’s travels in Kerala. Due to this person’s Master, Mohanji accorded this person high respect, even allowing him to share Mohanji’s room if required. He offered to do a small fire ritual for Mohanji to ...

Controlling the Elements

Mohanji recently visited the Mohanji Center of Benevolence, Australia, to inaugurate the centre. The food was being prepared in a chalet a little distance away from Mohanji’s chalet. People sitting with him noticed that Mohanji would tap on the wall behind Him every time his personal assistant stepped out to get something from the kitchen. She would come back drenched, wondering about her misfortune to catch the rain precisely when she went out. No rain before, no rain after. She would check out...

Mohanji’s Invisible Bodyguards

Just like most VVIPs in the physical world, Mohanji has his security apparatus that screens spaces before his arrival, protects him physically whether in motion or at rest and locks down the place, protecting His body while He sleeps or travels out of the body to distant realms in the Universe. He once said, “If one saw the little birds and animals around Me for who they really are, they would be scared stiff.”

A journalist from the UK came to interview Mohanji while he was still working in t...
