The Key to the Passion of Christ

When I pray the Rosary, I typically seek to experience the Mysteries upon which I meditate in a manner that engages both my intellect, to understand the Truth, and my imagination, to experience the reality of the Mystery.

Sometimes, this approach is a bit frustrating, particularly if I am tired or not able to focus.  I have recently found, after adjusting my approach to making time for the Rosary, with much greater success, that the stability and frequency of this prayer greatly aids the recept...

Spiritual Warfare Book for Teenagers and Youth!

If you know anyone who is young (age 15 to 25), it is likely that you fear for their spiritual survival.

As a Theology teacher for ten years, and a father of three, I know why we fear for them.

I, too, was a wayward youth, and I learned the hard way that the youth need to be trained in spiritual warfare.
This book, Swords and Shadows: Navigating Youth Amidst the Wiles of Satan, is the fruit of a grand conversion which Our Lord orchestrated in my life twenty years ago, and which is still playing out...

The Saints Will Replace the Fallen Angels in Heaven

In my book, Slaying Dragons: What Exorcists See & What We Should Know , I discuss the point that men who, by God's grace and their fidelity to it, merit salvation and a particular degree of holiness in Heaven, will essentially sit upon the same "thrones" in the hierarchy of Heaven which were abandoned or, better, unused, by the angels that fell in the first moment of their creation.  By this, the saints will replace the demons in the hierarchy of Heaven.

A reader of my book inquired about the trad...

The Freemasonic Curse and You

Freemasonry is a common feature in our culture.  Many people are used to seeing lodges in every city, and seeing Shriner parades [video] where they drive around in tiny cars to the amusement of children and the pacification of objectors.

The Masons of California [link] have an interesting video about their noble and pseudo-religious aspirations [link], though, of course, they claim that Freemasonry is not a religion nor politically interested [link].

Yet, this is not true.
The True Nature and Aims...

Five Facts About the Angelic Nature

Angels are important instruments of God's will.  Though they are invisible, they are both active in our world and capable of helping us.  Here are five fascinating aspects of the nature angels and demons, as well as some important differences.

Angels are personal creatures: Though we only know the names of a few, angels are personal creatures like us, and possess names for they are unique individual spirits. Though they are pure spirits, without bodies, they are also rational, possessing an int...

The Three Most Senseless Ways to Flirt With Evil

There are many ways to flirt with evil.  Here are three of the most senseless ways to do so.

Making yourself a god: The primordial temptation, which Satan experienced, and which he shared with Adam and Eve, was the temptation to make oneself into the arbiter of right and wrong and even of reality itself. When we take too much pleasure in ourselves, look upon ourselves as more glorious than we are, embrace a feeling of strength and power, particularly in our youth, we set ourselves up, mentally...

Top Three Ways Satan Undermines Us

The primary ways that Satan undermines us and our pursuit of virtue and holiness are actually the more subtle and less dramatic, at least when it comes to “undermining” us in our spiritual pursuits.

Distraction: Satan seeks to lure us away from God, and from a focus on God, by simply offering us lots of earthly or lesser goods. The more we follow them, the less we follow God. Eventually, if we follow the earthly and lesser goods for long enough, we grow uninterested in the higher goods. Th...

This is the Third Part in the Four-Part series discussing the likelihood that, as exorcists have stated, our nation is suffering from diabolical oppression.  You can find PART I and PART II and PART IV here.

Rise of the Occult
It must be pointed out, and the news will show this to be the case, that long before we tolerated the rioting and social discord, we tolerated the rise of Satanism, even recognizing it as a religion protected by the laws of this land.

As I discuss in my book, Slaying...

The Absence of Sanctifying Grace

We live in a culture very much deprived of sanctifying grace. Sanctifying grace comes to us through the Sacraments to those who are properly disposed to receive it. That means it is available to those who profess the One True Faith and have kept or mad...
