New Series Title!!!
My publisher has titled my new series! I wasn't sure if they would or not because they waited until book three before they did with my first one. But my new series definitely has a name-Yay!!! It's set in Scotland, and each of the Marquess's offspring receives their own story. The series is called "Roxbury Heirs," and Facing the Enemy, A Roxbury Heirs Romantic Suspense Novel debuts in April 2022. I can't wait to share it with you.
Blessings!

Book Birthday for Danger on the Loch
Yesterday, I hopped on Amazon to get the link for Danger on the Loch. There was a fun little tag beside my title that said, #1 Release Christian Fiction. Wow. That stopped me in my tracks. It was doubly sweet because we'd been up until 5 am Easter morning with a flooded laundry room that poured into our basement. Insurance peeps were out, and the tear-out had begun. Understandably, that little orange flag was a bright spot in my day.
I am super excited about this release for many reasons. It's my first national release and my first Christian release. My two previous novels in this series have LDS characters, so they were marketed differently. As a writer, I felt strongly that I needed to move "Danger" into mainstream Christian fiction. Many people of faith search for clean and uplifting entertainment than just the LDS niche market. My desire as an author is to touch and uplift others, to infuse hope that people can achieve their dreams and overcome hard things. I hope my writing, in some small way, can do that AND provide a break or reset button from the real world.

Edits vs Video Posts
For the last week, I've taken a hiatus from writing to handle edits for my co-authored, fall release, Heirs of Falcon Point. Yesterday, Traci, Sian, and I held a 9.5 hour Zoom meeting (without breaks) to cover our second round of edits. Guys--that book baby sparkles. I can't wait to share it with you!
The second part of being an author is not my favorite cup of tea. We're talking video posts. I love seeing clips of friends, their families, and what they've been up to on my feed. But put me in front of a camera, and my tummy twists, and I freeze. Today, I'm doing a short clip for Celebrating Sisterhood. (Grabs bottle of Tums & pastes smile on face--I'd honestly rather donate blood:).

UK Radio Interview
Since my romantic suspense novels are set mainly in the UK, a United Kingdom radio station (Chat and Spin) reached out and asked if I would do a LIVE interview. Yes!!! Then reality sank in . As a newer author, I sweat bullets worrying about what to say and how I would appeal to their listeners, etc. In the end, I was just myself, and it went really well. A totally fun experience. They asked if I'd be interested in doing another in the near future. It just goes to show, you never know how far your books will reach when you are stringing words together in the privacy of your home.

Titles vs Titles
Recently, my husband contributed to a conservation society in Scotland where we plan to do a great deal of hiking (hillwalking). Due to his contribution, they gave both of us several plots of land and titles to go with them. We are styled the Laird and Lady of Glencoe & Lochaber, or Lady Paige Edwards. (Don’t be impressed. About 100,000 other peeps carry that title too). In Scotland, on certain historical estates, the titles go with the land, not the people. That’s how this came about. So, when this group broke up the estate to promote conservation in an area we love, we got landed with a few extra perks.
Taking a flight of fancy here. Since my stories include British aristocracy, if one of my characters came to life, they would outrank me in the order of precedence:). Hahaha

The Good From 2020
What a unique year we've had. While I won't be sad to see the backside of 2020, parts of it were wonderful: extra family time, a weed-free yard, lots of walks, hikes, and kayaking to beautiful areas, which brought a new appreciation for this lovely planet. My writing opportunities increased, as well. I taught at my first writers conference, and my class was well received. The multi-author project I dreamed up in the summer of 2019 was completed and accepted earlier this year by my publisher. Heirs of Falcon Point is a novel that all four of us are incredibly proud of, and I hope you will enjoy it as well (coming October 2021). Lastly, I completed/submitted a full-length manuscript. So, while life in 2020 has been challenging, I will look back on the wins, the things that bring a sense of accomplishment, a sense of family, and a sense of peace. Happy Holidays y'all. Here's to 2021!

First Draft finished
Last week I completed the first draft of a new series. I'm a huge research nut and visit the UK on a regular basis. My pond hop this year was slated for May 2020.
Like all of you, plans changed, and the trip was shelved indefinitely. Luckily, I've visited the areas in this story before and was able to fill in the gaps via Scottish connections and other source materials I had on hand. (Libraries were closed).
The story problem explores: what happens when you can't do what you love the most? (We've all certainly faced that to some degree. Don't worry, this is not a Covid-19 story, but a romantic suspense set in Scotland).
Stay tuned for more.
Cheers!

suspense climax scenes
Writing a climax is such a rush for any author. It's the culmination of the tension that has built throughout your manuscript. I'm there right now with my first in a new series, I laughingly dubbed it Harry and the Hendersons, after an eighties comedy. However, this is no RomCom.
Like most of my novels, this one is set in the UK and is a good blend of romance and suspense.
This new series involves an MI6 agent who doesn't want to accept that her most recent injury might have ended her career.
Oh, and did I mention that her father is a an aristocrat? And that she changed her name because she hates the glam of that lifestyle?
Yeah, this chick has troubles:) Not to mention the fact that her old university flame, Harry, is back in the picture and stirring lots of memories.
