WRAPPED IN GREEN COMFORT (Update)

Gathering steam. Chapter Eleven finished and the next chapter prepared in my head. The characters are developing nicely and as ever, at this stage of a novel, I get an idea to shift direction slightly. The original plot still holds but I've thought of another shocker to introduce during the final chapters. Virginia and Tommy's relationship is simmering, and its about to get hotter in a surprising way. Not only is her father being set up for a giant fall, so too her step mother. I intended this to be a literary novel but somehow its getting a little erotic and romantic. On course for late July finish.

Chapter Eight finished and the novel is taking shape. There are two central characters, Virginia and Tommy, and the peripheral character of Virginia's father. The story itself is about her complexities as a twenty-something female trapped between the love and respect she once felt for her father and her present attitude now that he is married to a woman who is not her mother. Add to this, the new attraction she finds in Tommy; she wants to love him but control him in a way her step-mother controls her father. A ghastly secret is the thread that ties and motivates her actions. Bit by bit the reader learns fragmented details of what happened in Milan a few months ago. On track for a late July finish.

WRAPPED IN GREEN COMFORT

My next novel WRAPPED IN GREEN COMFORT is coming along nicely, but unfortunately not at my usual pace. It is a literary fiction novel about a young middle-class woman who's been imprisoned in her bedroom by her father and step-mother. Of course, the reason for this is not revealed until the final chapter. She escapes with the help of a man who sees her at her window, and she goes to live with him in a downtrodden area of the city. What happens between Virginia and the young man isn't yet clear. I am writing Chapter Five and still fiddling with the plot. I always find that until I reach at least Chapter Twelve nothing is certain in the way of events. Characters eventually obtain a life of their own and ultimately determine the outcome. Hopefully the novel will be done by late July at the latest. More news when there's anything to report.

The Last Days of Childhood

NEW RELEASE: My New Adult Novel, The Last Days of Childhood, has been published on 18th May. It is a story about Lucy, a teenage girl, who has lots of personal issues. She carries a poor opinion of herself, believes she's overweight, unattractive, is unloved by her parents, and is self-harming. She needs to revise for forth-coming exams, and all this while confusion over her sexual identity fills her mind. And it gets worse... the coronavirus is bringing the United Kingdom to lockdown just as she hopes to decide between Kell, a boy in her class, and her beautiful best friend, Fortine. She needs help, and the only person she can turn to is Grandpa Bob, but will he be any use?

The Last Days of Childhood

Progressing nicely on my latest work, The Last Days of Childhood. This is a young adult novel about a girl who is slowly coming to terms with the transition from childhood to adulthood and how she deals with the associated concomitant problems. The story is set against the background events of the coronavirus and details how societal changes affect Lucy's relationship with her close friend Fortine. It is meant as an insight into the difficulties of the middle teenage years which I believe is a subject often overlooked as we get older and forget that childhood once affected us too. Expected publishing date around the end of the month or early May.

LOUANN'S HOME MOVIE

At last, my 50th published book will be available in the next day or two. LOUANN'S HOME MOVIE is another erotic tale, something in the same vogue as ROSALEE'S PUNISHMENT and hopefully with another surprise ending. Of course, there's one guy and a whole varied collection of interesting gals that include two moms, two daughters, and a store assistant. The guy receives so much attention that he doesn't know how he's got so lucky. Do any of these gals fancy him or are they all out for pleasure? Maybe a 20-year unsolved murder is a clue to his fortune? If you like this sort of book, then get reading!

50th Book

It has been difficult getting into my 50th book. Since late December I have completed a few chapters of three novels and abandoned each in turn because that all-important TWIST just hasn't sprung to mind. At last, I'm about 36,000 words into my fourth attempt and today thought of the splendid twist that will keep me going to the end. It is provisionally titled LOUANN'S HOME MOVIE, another erotic suspense novel something in the style of ROSALEE'S PUNISHMENT, and is going to be one mighty hot read. However, the background story unfolds slowly and hopefully, a quite shocking conclusion will be delivered in the end. Happy to be back working after so many stops and starts and hope to have the novel ready for early to mid March.

50th Book Next

I hadn't realized until yesterday that I'm approaching my half-century of published books. I found an old list of books from the 90s and added them to those of this century, and they total 49. A VIEW OF BRITISH POLITICS

A new book (more of an essay) coming in the next few days. Entitled A View of British Politics it is a personal assessment of how political parties go wrong when choosing a leader. I have long-held theories as to why some leaders reach the office of Prime Minister and others become also-rans who never had a realistic hope of attaining the highest office. After Labour's disastrous December election campaign I needed to get these thoughts of out my head and prepare the groundwork for a new novel in January. Happy Christmas to all readers.

ROSALEE'S PUNISHMENT

My latest novel should be on sale in a day or two. ROSALEE'S PUNISHMENT is in the form of a letter written by a grieving lover to his long-time partner who has died some months previously in an automobile accident. Of course, he begins mourning her passing but soon the letter turns into a narrative about how he's surviving and what's going on in his life. A confrontation with a middle-aged gal at his local store has his sexual appetite returning, and it gets hungrier, and he determines to find himself a young woman. Sure, as with my latest series, this novel becomes hot and sexy and retains an element of suspense through to the end. It is possible RP may have a follow-up. The characters are interesting and even though they've spilled much, there may be more juice in them.
