Biden hits campaign trail, but does he help or hurt Democrats?

President Joe Biden has upped the tempo of his travel before the 2022 midterm elections, months after expressing his desire to return to a campaign-style schedule to underscore his accomplishments.
But now that the Russia-Ukraine war has entered another phase, the White House’s renewed focus on the November contests, which will decide which party controls Congress, presents challenges for the president.

Biden’s New Hampshire, Oregon, and Washington itineraries this week, after trips to Iowa and North Carolina last week, emphasize the importance he and his White House aides are placing on the midterm cycle as his average approval rating hovers around 41%, or net negative 11 percentage points.
But Biden is an inconsistent performer on the campaign trail. While he may forge inroads with persuadable voters one on one, he can just as easily distract from the White House’s intended message with an off-script comment or a viral video clip.
BIDEN’S STUDENT DEBT GAMBLE MAY NOT PAY OFF WITH VOTER ENTHUSIASM
For Republican strategist John Feehery, the White House is in a difficult position since they aspire to portray Biden as an in-command leader as it simultaneously creates opportunities for him to make mistakes.
“He’s got to travel to show he’s up to the job. And he’s got to travel because he’s got to excite his base,” Feehery told the Washington Examiner. “Now, the downside of that is that every time he says something, he says something stupid.”
Biden does best in intimate settings rather than in large venues or on TV, according to Feehery. And that means it takes more effort to reach the same number of people effectively, a complication for a t …

Biden told Obama he’s running again

(The Hill) – President Biden has told former President Obama that he is planning to run for reelection in 2024, two sources tell The Hill.

The admission to Obama is the latest indication that Biden is likely to run for a second term, something the president has spoken about publicly.

During a press conference in Brussels last month, he told reporters he’d be “very fortunate” to run against his rival in the 2020 election, former President Trump.

“[Biden] wants to run and he’s clearly letting everyone know,” said one of the two sources familiar with the conversations between Obama and Biden.

The source also said that Biden, despite his faltering approval ratings, remains the most likely Democratic candidate to defeat Trump. This was a key part of Biden’s salesmanship to voters as he sought support for this 2020 bid — and a big reason primary voters rallied to him in South Carolina and “Super Tuesday” states where he sealed his status as the Democratic frontrunner.

“I believe he thinks he’s the only one who can beat Trump. I don’t think he thinks there’s anyone in the Democratic party who can beat Trump and that’s the biggest factor,” the source familiar with the Obama–Biden talks s …

End of Masks prompts mid-flight cheers

Airline cabins erupted in applause as jubilant pilots informed passengers they were free to remove their face coverings shortly after a Florida federal judge voided the Biden Administration’s mask mandate for planes, trains and buses.

Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, an appointee of President Donald Trump, ruled Monday that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention failed to properly explain its decision to impose the mandate or follow proper rule making procedures.

Pilots wasted no time in letting pandemic-weary passengers know via intercoms that they could remove their masks – setting off sky-high celebrations in the cabins, Newsweek reported.

KSAZ-TV reporter Erica Stapleton posted a video on Twitter in which Kool & the Gang’s “Celebration” is heard being played over the loudspeaker.

“When you’re actually on a flight & they tell you the federal mask mandate is lifted for travelers. Lots of cheering from passengers on board,” Stapleton wrote Monday night.

Ben Dietderich, press secretary for Republican Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan, posted a short clip of passengers applauded a similar announcement from the flight deck.

“A wonderful …

The study found that “low muscle strength was independently associated with an elevated risk of all-cause mortality, regardless of muscle mass, metabolic syndrome, sedentary time among US older adults, indicating the importance of muscle strength in predicting aging-related health outcomes in older adults.”
The new data indicates that restrictions placed in the personal fitness industry to combat the spread of COVID not only damaged the industry but harmed the demographic the pandemic restrictions were designed to protect through government enforced sedentary lifestyles.
The study, Associations of Muscle Mass and Strength with All-Cause Mortality among US Older Adults, was done in conjunction with Sports Health and Rehabilitation Research Center, China Institute of Sport Science, Beijing, and examined “individual and joint associations of low muscle mass and low muscle strength with all-cause mortality in a nationally representative sample.”
Gyms and fitness facilities in Canada were subject to some of the harshest restrictions, with closures, staged re-openings and capacity limits imposed by governments and health authorities across North America.
A 2021 member survey done by the Alberta coalition of the Fitness Industry Council of Canada (FIC) representing almost 200 gyms and studios in the province found that 50 per cent of the facilities polled would not be able to survive another two months of closures.

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
An opinion article from MSNBC suggested that White supremacists may be using fitness groups to help recruit new members. The column titled, “Pandemic fitness trends have gone extreme — literally” focused primarily on the assertion that far-right White supremacist groups are using online workout chats to find and encourage extremist beliefs.NOT THE BEE CEO LOCKED OUT OF TWITTER FOLLOWING BABYLON BEE ACCOUNT LOCK

Physical fitness training, especially in combat sports, appeals to the far right for many reasons: fighters are trained to accept significant physical pain, to be ‘warriors,’ and to embrace messaging around solidarity, heroism, and brotherhood,” she explained.Further on, she even suggested a link to between physical fitness and Hitler’s Nazi party.

Snoop Dogg Trolls Biden — It Immediately Goes Viral

Rap megastar turned pop culture icon Snoop Dogg posted a video of President Biden seemingly turning to shake hands with no one after a recent speech and the Instagram post soared to over 1 million views in the first hour.
Snoop Dogg exploded onto the American hip hop scene in the early 90s after being featured on Dr. Dre’s hit album, The Chronic. Since then, the rap icon has become best friends with Martha Stewart and is a pop culture staple. This year, the “Gin & Juice” rapper headlined the Super Bowl 56 Halftime Show alongside fellow 90s pop icons Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Eminem.
Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., known professionally as Snoop Dogg, has over 72 million followers on his Instagram alone. Those followers ate up the widely circulating video of the Biden blunder.

While this is nothing new for Biden, Snoop Dogg’s post could very well …

The Truth May Very Well Be ‘Out There’

My love for alien television was born first out of an infatuation with David Duchovny or, probably more accurately, Fox Mulder when I was a kid. As an adult, I still enjoy catching the occasional re-run marathon of “The X‑Files” but have also found myself hooked on pseudo-documentary shows.
For example, there is something delightful about “Ancient Aliens.” They transport you to an exotic location and teach a few exciting science stuff from real scientists. Then BAM…the show’s most eclectic hosts link it all to ancient aliens.

What do you think about aliens? 🤔 Watching Ancient Aliens… 👽 pic.twitter.com/O1pdMzCPz4

This past year I forced my husband to watch a new show called “Unidentified.” The show follows a group of people with various credentials ranging from the founder, former Blink182 band member Tom DeLonge, to former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Chris Mellon.
They investigate different alleged unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) primarily around particular military instances …

Former FM: Putin may use nukes

Why is Putin scared of NATO? Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says Europe needs to commit to making NATO ‘strong’ on ‘One Nation with Brian Kilmeade.‘NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
Russian President Vladimir Putin would only consider nuclear weapons in the event he feels an “existential threat” to his country or regime, according to foreign policy experts. “They could be used, but in very, very specific situations,” former Russian foreign minister Andrei Kozyrev told Fox News Digital. “If Russia or one of those countries really threatened in their hearts – existentially, that is … if NATO troops come to Moscow, then probably they will resort to nuclear weapons.” RUSSIA INVADES UKRAINE: LIVE UPDATES“But there is no existential threat to Russia under the present circumstances,” Kozyrev said. Russia has changed course over the past few weeks after failing to take Kyiv despite a month-long campaign in northern Ukraine. The Russian military claimed to have achieved its phase one goal and would instead focus on securing the Donbas region – a move that some have labeled a “consolation prize” to make up for the “sacrifice.” Heritage Foundation Senior Fellow Brent Sadler suggested that Putin could use a tactical nuclear strike if Russia faced an “overwhelming military defeat” in Donbas. “That might be the case where a tactical nuclear weapon might be considered to demonstrate resolve and basically reverse any trends going on in the Russian military,” Sadler said. “I don’t see them using city killers, because that would definitely usher in World War III, and the assumption is if he does that he’s attacking NATO.” MI …

Former CEO: Musk ‘in For a World of Pain’

The former CEO of Reddit said in an interview that Elon Musk had no idea what he was in for when he offered to buy Twitter.

Yishan Wong said that Musk was “in for a world of pain” if he bought Twitter and that “he has no idea.”

Wong’s Twitter thread said Musk shouldn’t waste time on the platform. “Elon is not going to fix some problems. I am absolutely sure of this. He has no idea what he’s in for,” Wong tweeted.

Wong said the growth of the modern internet “forced” Twitter to censor certain content. “Censorship is inevitable on large social network platforms. If you run one of sufficient size, you will be FORCED to censor things,” he claimed. “Not by governments, or even by ‘users,’ but by the emergent dynamics of the social network itself.”

He added that some ideas are “powerful and dangerous” and that social media platforms have a responsibility to users to enforce content moderation. “And it’s not because certain ideas are good or bad, or true or false. It has to do purely with operational issues that arise with humans that disagree in large numbers on digital platforms,” he said.

Wong also said that Musk’s purchase of Twitter would “hurt all of humanity.” “And the worst part, the part that is going to hurt ALL OF HUMAN …
