Trump: Truth Social is ‘open and ready to go’

Photo: Alamy

President Donald Trump told an excited audience in Delaware, Ohio, on Saturday that Truth Social, his recently-launched free speech social media platform, is “open and ready to go.” The 45th president encouraged the crowd to “go out and use it and have fun with it.”

President Trump also openly discussed the partnership between Truth Social and Rumble, the popular and up-and-coming video streaming platform, which recently enabled Truth Social to onboard millions of users who had been waitlisted.

“Our team’s working around the clock,” Trump stated. “…Big Tech has banned so many Americans; there’s nobody left to ban!”

Additionally, President Trump talked about the censorship of the radical left, citing Twitter as an example and calling the platform a “real mess.”

Trump added that Truth Social would cancel the “plague of radical leftists that’s destroying America.”

Devin Nunes, the CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), recently stated in an interview with Newsmax’s Chis Salcedo that th …

Exercise may protect brain health by keeping insulin, BMI levels low

Share on PinterestHow does exercise protect brain health? New research sheds light. Suhaimi Abdullah/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesExisting studies show that exercise helps protect brain cells through mechanisms that researchers do not yet fully understand.Researchers know that exercise increases brain glucose metabolism, which correlates with improved brain function.Studies show that exercise affects insulin resistance and has a complex relationship with body mass index (BMI) levels.A new study suggests that exercise plays a role in maintaining insulin and BMI levels, which may help stave off dementia by protecting gray matter volume in the brain. A new study investigates the mechanisms involved in the relationship between exercise and brain health. Previous research had shown that larger gray matter volume can help protect against dementia by improving brain function. The new study shows that insulin resistance and BMI mediate the relationship between larger and smaller brain gray matter volumes (the part of the brain involved in processing information). The research is published in the April 2022 online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology. The corresponding author of the study was Dr. Geraldine Poisnel, of the Inserm Regional Research Center, in Caen, Normandy, France. The study involved 134 people with an average age of 69 who had no memory problems. The participants filled out a physical activity survey covering the past 12 months. They also had brain scans to measure glucose metabolism and brain volume. The metabolism of glucose in the brain provides fuel for the brain by generating adenosine 5′-triphosphate (ATP) — a key molecule for maintaining the health of neurons and other cells. ATP is also key for generating neurotransmitters. Reduced glucose metabolism in the brain can be seen in people with dementia.Gray matter development peaks at age 2–3 years. It begins to decrease afterward in some areas of the brain, but the density of the gray matter increases. From an evolutionary perspective, the higher processing ability of the human brain and its development are due to this increase in density. In some studies, larger total brain volume, estimated by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), has a weak correlation with higher intelligence in men and a very weak correlation in women with the ability to do well in intelligence tests. In contrast, brain tissue deterioration and loss of volume is a significant contributor to lower cognitive ability later in life.In the new study, researchers included 134 people with an average age of 69 who had no memory problems. The participants filled out a physical activity survey covering the past 12 months. They also had brain scans to measure glucose metabolism and brain volume. In the new study, researchers g …

Jim Jordan Says IRS Can’t Be Trusted After ‘Partisan’ Leak Investigation Stonewalls

Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said Americans couldn’t trust the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) after it failed to provide answers about a massive leak of confidential tax documents. The leaks of billionaires’ tax records to ProPublica seemed partisan, according to Jordan, and closely aligned with Democrats’ efforts to raise taxes on the wealthy.  “This looks just like one more example of the government being weaponized against we the people, against the American citizens,” Jordan told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Americans can’t trust the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) after its investigation of tax document leaks has so far failed to turn up any answers ten months after it began.Jordan and Republican California Rep. Darrell Issa sent letters to the IRS and the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (T …

Northeast Ohio House seat, a longtime Democratic redoubt, shifting to GOP

For decades, Northeast Ohio has been politically synonymous with populist Democrats.
But with Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan leaving the House for a Senate bid, and redistricting in Ohio that is seeing the state lose a seat due to low population growth, the newly configured 13th Congressional District has a good chance of flipping to the Republicans.

Starting Jan. 3, 2023, the district will include all of Summit County, northwestern Stark County, and a sliver of southwest Portage County. That’s a change from the 13th District’s current lines, which stretch from the Pennsylvania state line to take in a portion of the city of Akron, Ohio.
Ryan, first elected to the House in 2002 from a different district, has held the seat for the past decade. Ryan has been a consistent critic of American trade policies, particularly with China. He has portrayed himself as a champion for manufacturing in a country that has been fractured by trade and outsourcing.
PROXY VOTING LIKELY FINISHED IF REPUBLICANS WIN MIDTERM ELECTIONS
Ryan’s departure and the open seat weren’t the only changes to the district: Ohio’s redistricting process shifted the lines of the Youngstown-area district to make it friendlier t …

Trump: ‘Deranged Group of Extremists’ Running US

Pulling no punches, former President Donald Trump excoriated President Joe Biden and his stumbling administration at his Save America rally in Delaware, Ohio, on Saturday night.

“In this moment together, we’re standing up against some of the most menacing forces, entrenched interests, and vicious opponents our people have ever seen or fought against,” Trump told his rally, which aired live on Newsmax. “Despite great outside powers and dangers, our biggest threat remains the sick, sinister, and evil people from within our own country.

“There is no threat as dangerous to democracy as they are. Just look at the un-select committee of political hacks and what they’re doing to our country while radical-left murderers, rapists, and insurrectionists roam free: Nothing happens to them.

“But no matter how big or powerful these corrupt radicals may be, you must never forget this nation does not belong to them. This nation belongs to you. This …

Joe Biden met with Hunter Biden business partner at the White House

Hunter Biden’s closest business partner made at least 19 visits to the White House and other official locations between 2009 and 2015, including a sitdown with then-Vice President Joe Biden in the West Wing.

Visitor logs from the White House of former President Barack Obama reviewed by The Post cast further doubt over Joe Biden’s claims that he knew nothing of his son’s dealings.

Eric Schwerin met with Vice President Biden on November 17, 2010 in the West Wing, when he was the president of the since-dissolved investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners.

The logs also reveal that Schwerin met with various close aides of both Joe and Jill Biden at key moments in Hunter’s life when he was striking multi-million dollar deals in foreign countries, including China. Yet President Biden has long insisted he had no involvement in his son’s foreign affairs. “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas bu …

AGs Push Back Against ‘Absurd Effort’ to Thwart Border Security Efforts in Texas

The attorney generals of Texas and Missouri are pushing back against what they say is another attempt by the Biden administration to thwart border security efforts in Texas, this time through the Endangered Species Act.The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed listing the prostrate milkweed (Asclepias prostrata), a wildflower, as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. It’s also proposed designating 691.3 acres in two Texas border counties, Starr and Zapata, as critical habitat for the milkweed under the Act.
According to the agency, “All known Texas populations of prostrate milkweed are within 9 miles (14.5 kilometers) of the Texas-Mexico border. To address border security concerns, additional border barrier construction was proposed in the Rio Grande Valley, including the Arroyo Morteros tract of the Lower Rio Grande Valley NWR. Should border wall construction occur, and depending on the alignment, construction could remove prostrate milkweed plants that occur within the …

TRUMP TO DECIDE MCCARTHY’S FATE

House Republicans appear to be in no rush to consider dumping House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy over his double-speak reaction to the Jan. 6 riots and tapped comments that former President Donald Trump should “resign” over the affair.

According to multiple insiders, Republicans are first looking to see what Trump says (or doesn’t) on the growing scandal and then hope to kick questions about leadership toward a time after the fall elections so it doesn’t distract from the goal of taking back control of the House.

“Right now, they are still on Easter break, so there isn’t a rush to judgment,” said one leadership adviser. “And everyone is looking to Trump, the leader of the party, and what he will do,” added the adviser.

At issue is a new book by New York Times writers saying that McCarthy, during a call with House members on Jan. 10, 2021, suggested that Trump should resign if he was headed to a second impeachment. His office denied the claim but was caught in a lie when tapes held by the book authors were played on MSNBC…
