Bill Barr Suggests Special Counsel for Roe Leak

In a Tuesday interview on Megyn Kelly’s podcast, twice-former United States Attorney General Bill Barr responded to the unprecedented leak of a Supreme Court decision draft authored by Justice Samuel Alito that would appeal Roe v. Wade if the draft represents the Court’s final decision.Kelly asked Barr for his thoughts on Chief Justice John Roberts’ decision to direct the Marshal of the Court to investigate the leak, and Barr suggested the Marshal’s investigation may not be the only avenue that will be used to track down the party or parties responsible for breaching the integrity of the Supreme Court.“The Chief would’ve had the option, perhaps he still will, to appoint a counsel,” Barr noted. “A special counsel — not in the classical criminal sense — but the Court can appoint a counsel and bring in a former …

ECONOMIC DISASTER LOOMS

The Federal Reserve is poised to set out a path to rapidly withdraw support from the economy at its meeting on Wednesday — and while it hopes it can contain inflation without causing a recession, that is far from guaranteed.

Whether the central bank can gently land the economy is likely to serve as a referendum on its policy approach over the past two years, making this a tense moment for a Fed that has been criticized for being too slow to recognize that America’s 2021 price burst was turning into a more serious problem.

The Fed chair, Jerome H. Powell, and his colleagues are expected to raise interest rates half a percentage point on Wednesday, which would be the largest increase since 2000. Officials have also signaled that they will release a plan for shrinking their $9 trillion balance sheet starting in June, a policy move that will further push up borrowing costs.

That two-front push to cool off the economy is expected to continue throughout the year: Several policymakers have said they hope to get rates above 2 percent by the end of 2022. Taken together, the moves could prove to be the fastest withdrawal of monetary support in decades.

How do world’s stealth fighters stack up?

In September 1997, an unusual-looking aircraft — the world’s first truly stealth fighter — left the runway at Lockheed Martin’s Marietta, Georgia facility. Its wide, angular body looked like it had been ripped right out of the pages of a science fiction story. It blurred the lines between the unusual stealth aircraft the United States was using for attack and bombing missions and the high-performance fighters America relied on for control of the skies.

Before this new aircraft, the F‑15 Eagle had previously ruled the roost of America’s air superiority mission. Its astonishing air combat record of 104 wins and zero losses had been enough to make any nation think twice about picking a dogfight with Uncle Sam. But the F‑15’s famously massive radar signature (said to cover some …

JUST IN: Sinister Reason For SCOTUS Leak Revealed

Justices reportedly voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, according to Supreme Court experts who have expressed outrage at the unprecedented leak of the Court’s draft decision.

According to a draft opinion leaked to Politico, a majority of justices on the Supreme Court voted to overturn the landmark decision after oral arguments in December, though their decision is not yet final.

According to legal experts, the leak…

NGAD 6th Gen Stealth Fighter: Unaffordable?

Will price kill the NGAD program? Wars have always been expensive to fight. But the costs of many 21st century platforms run exponentially higher – so much so that some U.S. lawmakers routinely ask whether the weapons are worth the price. The per-unit cost of the Lockheed Martin F‑35 Lightning II has long been one focus of debate. Supporters of the system tout the aircraft’s advanced capabilities. Its detractors counter that there are more affordable alternatives.Incredibly Effective and Very ExpensiveSuch a debate is already starting to snare the U.S. Air Force’s Next Generation Air Dominance future fighter program, or NGAD, which is on track to become the most expensive aircraft program in history. The fighter could serve as the centerpiece of a family of systems that eventually succeeds the Lockheed Martin F‑22 Raptor. But each of the semi-autonomous aircraft could cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
During a House Armed Services Committee last week, Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall found himself in the hot seat as lawmakers questioned him about the total cost of the aircraft, which is still under development. Kendall couldn’t specify the exact cost of an individual aircraft, but he did say it could reach multiple hundreds of millions of dollars. It is likely to cost at least twice as much as the F‑35, which had …
