Prayer Request

A reader writes:
I would like to ask you and my fellow readers for prayers that my wife and I are reconciled and our marriage healed.. Right now she is unwilling to make the attempt at reconciliation and I am sinking into depression over that and being separated from my two year old daughter. Thank you!
Father, hear our prayer and heal this marriage through Christ our Lord. Holy Family, pray for them! Amen!

A reader asks for prayer...

for a change in my job situation - our family bills have more than doubled. Our marriage - to recover from a crisis
Father, hear our prayer for these folks that their needs will be met and their marriage will be healed through Jesus Christ. Holy Family, pray for them!

My Latest and (Please God) Last...

attempt to chew over the problem of lying for Jesus. Shorter version: I'm agin' it. Though I can certainly cut a lot of slack to people in a pinch who are doing the best they can in desperate circumstances (the proverbial Dutch hider of Jews) and would likely do the same, I think the attempt to make lying for Jesus (aka "consequentialism") a central pillar of the prolife movement is a catastrophically bad idea that will only end in tears, whatever short term benefits it reaps.

I hope this tome will atone for my lack of blogging of late.

Prayer Request

Still grinding away, but a reader writes:
Please pray for my cousin, Amanda, and her unborn son, Parker. Amanda is 23.5 weeks pregnant. An ultrasound revealed she has a softball size tumor in her uterus that was NOT present 4 weeks ago at a different ultrasound. Her doctors have advised her she has a 60% chance of miscarriage and they recommend she abort this baby. I spoke with my aunt, her mother, and they have gone from calling him "Parker" when they found out he was a boy at the last ultrasound to calling him "it". He has become an "it" to them, an "it" that is preventing them from biopsying this tumor. They are not agnostic at best. I have been praying since I found out today that Parker gets the chance to live. She will be making a decision regarding this on Monday. My aunt said, "Maybe this is God's way of telling her to take care of herself and not others." I dropped the phone. Please, please, pray for this little boy's life and his mother's heart. Pray that his mother puts his life as top priority.
Father, hear our prayer for Parker's safe delivery and for the health of his mother through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary, pray for this child and all involved.

Hey Western Washington!

Planned Parenthood, the people who advise people who might have STD's to give blood, injure women, helped to create political climate that made this monster a millionaire, have 107 charges (including 23 felonies) in one state alone, and helped to cover up the sexual abuse of a minor, are now laboring to make sure that Crisis Pregnancy Centers are crushed in Washington state.

A reader writes:
Y'all have probably noticed that I've posted quite a few vids about Planned Parenthood's 'activities' recently. The reason I've been drawing so much attention to their mismanagement lately is largely due to something called
the "Limited Service Pregnancy Center Accountability Act".

I've been silently watching the abortion industry for a long time, but having my own yet-to-be-born son has kindled in me a desire to fight for his *right* to live, which he has every bit as much as anyone else.

Sponsored by PP, this bill WILL KILL their "competition", small as it is. Crisis Pregnancy Centers provide over $16 Million in free maternal and infant services across the state without the benefit of taxpayer funding like PP receives. The bill will place restrictions on pregnancy centers' actions and remove restrictions for lawsuits. You can find the bill online - it's short, only took me a couple minutes to read.

Unfortunately, this bill passed the House on Thursday and is headed to the Senate for a vote on Monday afternoon.

Please take a moment to contact your rep *before this weekend*. It's been a long day and I'm exhausted, but I've been following this for a long, long time and I'm telling you there has never been a more important time to be involved than RIGHT NOW.

(800) 562-6000 will get you to the Legislature. If you don't know your rep, you can find it over the phone or online using the link.

The "right to choose" abortion is going to stay legal in WA (for now), but PP doesn't want women to even have *any other choice*. Planned Parenthood has sponsored bills JUST LIKE THIS ONE all across the country. They specifically target non-abortion pregnancy centers and use "accountability" as a cover for eliminating alternatives.
Given recent news, a very hypocritical cover, indeed.

It's strange...abortion used to be something I was against...in theory...but now that I've seen ultrasounds of my son - even more - HE KNOWS MY VOICE! I haven't even met him and I can already tell you he prefers Bach over the Beatles!

This bill may seem small - but letting Planned Parenthood call the shots is, well, letting them get away with murder. You can see that they don't even care much for the women to whom they provide services. I hope you'll take just a moment to let our elected officials know...for me, it's a chance to be less cynical and more responsible, or maybe I just want to "stick it to the man". ;)
Still busy. But I thought you should know. And you guys in the other 49, be aware PP is gonna try this in your state as well.

OK. One Last Thing...

The inimitable John C. Wright, who I hope to one day faintly imitate in terms of sheer literary and comedic greatness, offers his hilarious insights on the question of Democracy in Space. Pants-wetting levels of funny are achieved.

And one more....

A reader writes:
Since everyone in the world seems to request prayers on your blog and people mercifully respond, please post this request also. It breaks my heart and I am wholeheartedly praying for this poor man and his family. Please ask that your readers do so also. Thank you.
Father, hear our prayer for this man that he be delivered from this barbarism or that, if it is not your will that he be delivered, that his blood become the seed of the Church in Afghanistan and one day help to bring down the lie of Islam and raise up many Christians in his place. Forgive the cowards in the Red Cross who have left him to his fate and our wretched country that stands by and does nothing while yakking about our noble work of liberation there. Mother Mary, pray for him and his family. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
