Having explored the differences between purposeful and intrusive thought, and the complementary nature of instinct and intuition, we now turn to listening to our emotions for meaning and significance.
Exactly what is an emotional dialogue?
You may have some sense of the benefits of positive self-talk, often called affirmations. But while talking to yourself, do you pause to listen for intuitive responses? When you do, provided you are deeply relaxed, you will get great answers — insight and understanding.

There's not much information available about developing your intuition, though it's the only alternative to logic. Hearing the still, small voice of intuition is a relaxation skill. The harder you try the worse you do.
For most of our waking day, the random, involuntary negativity that intrudes on our efforts to focus on deliberate thoughts, drown-out the wisdom of our intuition and conscience.

Last Sunday, we discussed deductive and inductive logic and how it differs from intrusive thinking. In this week's class — Sunday, July 31 — we'll explore intuition.
Intuition is not illogical, but it is a non-logical form of intelligence. Our conscience, values, and ethics speak to us through intuition. Further, intuition is the voice of our emotional intelligence, yet largely unavailable when we are emotionally anxious or stressed. Sometimes called "gut feelings," intuition is not the same as instinct. Learn the differences this Sunday.

In previous Wisdom of the Soul classes, we discussed some of the primary differences between thoughts and feelings. In this Sunday's class (July 24), we'll explore different types of thinking.
We'll begin with task-related vs task-unrelated thoughts. We'll move on to intrusive thoughts and the so-called monkey-mind. I'll explain the difference between deductive and inductive thinking, as well as the nature of intuition — the wisdom of our conscience beyond knowing right from wrong.

Expanded self-awareness is an altered brainwave state called "alpha." In this Sunday's Wisdom of the Soul class, we'll talk about brainwaves — what they are, what they mean, and how to generate particular frequencies at will.
