World Cup Jerseys Coloring Chart

World Cup Jerseys Coloring Chart:

On most Fridays (schedule permitting), I take a few hours out of my day to help homeschool our children. One of the subjects we're studying is geography. I figured it'd be fun to tie our studies to the World Cup and use the teams competing to help with visuals for the countries we're studying. I quickly threw together this coloring chart, with thanks to Austin Taylor's World Cup 2010 for the jersey design.

For what it's worth, feel free to use it in your...

How Do You Manage Your Fonts?

How Do You Manage Your Fonts?:

idsgn interviews Jason Santa Maria, Khoi Vinh, Nick Sherman, and Jackson Cavanaugh to get a feel for how they manage fonts on their machines.

I'm in the same boat as Nick. I used to be a Font Explorer X user, but now I'm back to just using Apple's default Font Book for three reasons: Font Book runs much faster than it used to, I'm not managing a lot of fonts these days, and most newer machines have no problem running under the load of dozens, even hundreds of...

Using iPad On Set

Using iPad On Set:

Vincent Laforet, the creative mind behind Reverie, mentions several ways he's found use for iPad during a film shoot. There's a brief video included in the article, too.

He closes with an opinion I can agree with, even though I've been on a "real" set only twice in my life:

I'd like to challenge Apple and other software/hardware companies to FULLY take advantage of the iPad. I'd love to be able to use it as a reference monitor for any of the cameras that I'm shooting with...

Moleskine® Kindle Cover, iPad Reportedly Coming Soon

Moleskine® Kindle Cover, iPad Reportedly Coming Soon:

Suede lining and blank ivory paper for jotting notes. Available on Amazon, though the reviews aren't all that positive so far (mostly dealing with right-handed vs. left-handed users).

Core77 says an iPad version is reportedly in the works. If, however, it has bands covering the corners, I won't go for it. I love that the DODOcase holds my iPad in place without the need for that.

Herman Miller Desk Adjusts for Work Standing or Sitting

Herman Miller Desk Adjusts for Work Standing or Sitting:

Sonia Zjawinski, writing for Unplggd:

In the never-ending debate over what's more ergonomic, working standing up or sitting down, Herman Miller comes out with the ultimate solution—a desk that can do both. Part of their Thrive series, the desk is designed to be able to adjust heights with a simple push of a button.

I'll echo Sonia: The debate about working standing up vs. sitting down is never-ending. To that end, I remind you to do...

Notepad.cc: A Piece of Paper in the Cloud:

This is crazy simple. Load up the page, start typing. Change the URL if you'd like, add a password too, share with others or reference the URL on other devices (including iPad).

Brilliant.

iPhone 4: 600,000 Pre-ordered on Day 1:

An official statement by Apple, reportedly. (I've been hunting for an official Apple.com link but can't find one. Until then, this will have to do.)
