My Review of The Dictionary of Body Language

The Dictionary of Body Language by Joe Navarro

As a writer I'm finding this book helpful in the art of showing vs. telling when it comes to the wide array of emotions of "body language".

I would recommend it for any writer to have on their shelf as a quick reference.

I most particularly like topic #111 (Tongue in Cheek). So many double meanings.

Migraines Getting in the Way

My personal quarters in the game Warframe. My operator is the person to the right.
One of my warframes and a kavat to the rear.I was recently diagnosed with chronic migraines, and usually I find writing can help with them. But as of late the migraines and their associated symptoms have gotten to where it's hard to write. While my doctor tries to figure out what medications to use for me, I’ve found that playing Warframe helps. Check out my story on Medium about the game Warframe if you are interested.

Jon Greene Backstories

While the JSD Volume 5 featuring Rosella Tolfree installments is still being prepared for publishing (I’ve done my part with the writing—it’s now in editing and layout), I’ve been working on an e-book that is the backstory for Jon Greene.
Jon Greene is a main character that will be featured in Rosella’s life. You might say, Jon and Rosella have a common DNA coding source. Jon also has a unique genetic property to him. He has not aged any further since about his mid-twenties. While this allows him to heal like a twenty-something, this doesn’t make him immune to death, disease or injury. Jon is not like Wolverine. In fact, as he ages he has been accumulating damage that needs to be repaired with surgery. If he gets shot, he can bleed to death. So by the time he meets Rosella, his chest is scarred up, and his ribs have been replaced with artificial alumi-plasti ribs along with a few other bones.
So while he can eat pizza like at 25-year-old, his body is pretty banged up. It’s possible that even his body will wear out and he will need a full replacement.
It’s his own fault for being banged up a lot. The Blind Obelisk gave him a choice, and it leads to such things as dealing with the Night Creature. A demoness mentioned in Isaiah 34:14.Oh, there’s one other thing about Jon. He’s responsible for the deaths of 806 clones of women, men and children by the time he meets Rosella. This makes him one of the most prolific serial killers of all time. The current actual record holder is Luis Alfredo Garavito Cubillos. It’s reported this sick man has killed over 300 people (primarily children). Cubillos’ exact count is still being determined. Even so Jon Greene would in theory far surpass him. But Jon doesn’t do all the killing. He has helpers.
The irony is Rosella actually likes Jon, despite the weird chronological age difference. Jon is 62 years older than Rosella when he meets her. Rosella is in her early 40s by this point.
I’m still debating how to release the e-book. I may release it as a free item to readers, or as a premium for those who support me through Patreon. We’ll see.

How I deal with the famed writer's block

Typically when I get stuck in my writing, I turn to video games to let my mind wonder a bit.

Helps the neurons reset themselves.

Sometimes you just gotta dance.

The Gillette Short Film

A while back I wrote a short story dealing with one's man response to society's general misandry. I wrote this during the height of the #MeToo movement on cable news. It was my vision of a possible future male reaction.


Meanwhile Gillette has released on YouTube a short film entitled 
"We Believe: The Best Men Can Be | Gillette (Short Film)" and again we are talking about #MeToo on cable news.
Aside from making a social statement concerning male behavior, Gillette has been accused of capitalizing on the #MeToo movement. It's working to their favor because here I am making a blog post about it, and I don't even shave.
To be honest, the Gillette's piece is okay. But it doesn't go deep enough into what should be the relationship between men and women. 

Since the early 20th Century, we Americans have lost our sense of how the sexes are to behave with each other. Replaced instead with social ambitions of power and equality of rights. Now here we stand once more at a point where one female blogger is calling the #MeToo movement a witch hunt.

It would seem misandry has become the politically correct norm. Not that men should be pigs, but now it seems more acceptable to hate men. It's no wonder male suicides make up most suicides today.
There is a warning in the Bible about pulling up the weeds where the wheat grows because the good seed could be lost just as the bad as you exact your zeal to have justice. Could we be seeing the same today with the zeal of the #MeToo? Or is it too late now?

Rosella Tolfree Timeline Posted

I just posted on the Rosella Tolfree website the timeline below. Most of the Rosella stories take place in the Ross Perot Period of U.S. Presidents. A 40 year period of despot presidents. Rosella was 19 when that period started.

New Prequel Story

I'm releasing a Prequel Story to the upcoming Joseph Street Digest release of many of the Rosella Tolfree stories.

I think it's rather apt considering the recent release of the Government Study on Climate Change.

The main premise of my future world is that the ice caps have melted due to increased planet warming to a balmy mid-80s degrees F.

Also I changed the weather patterns which is not in most models, but could happen due to the excess heat.

Statement on Political Violence

As an author who writes dystopian political science fiction, I unfortunately fill much of my world with political violence. This is not unlike other writers who put in evil characters and organizations for heroes and heroines to fight against.
I want my readers, and others to know, that I do not condone those who read my stories to become inspired to do hateful acts of violence in the present.
I write these stories, like most science fiction writers, to make people realize how wrong things can become and that we should strive to correct society before my visions become a reality. Because I write hard science fiction, the details of my writings can be realistic.
I’ve written on this topic when the baseball shootinghappened in Virginia, and again I say the same thing and reminding people not to do violence.
Nothing has changed since that date. Maybe as we go forward, things will.
