Why Do I Write Romance?
I don’t know. It was just a thing I did. Seriously, that’s the answer. Growing up, my mom had about thirty Danielle Steel hardbacks on the bookshelf in the living room of our house. They were on display for people to see. She read romance novels, and people would know that she read romance novels. I mean, who does that?
I worked at Borders Books in college. Yes, that Borders that no longer exists, but it’s not my fault. I was a great employee; I used my whole paycheck and employee discount to b...

New Release: Pride Festival
The Pride Festival, my novella contribution to the I Heart SapphFic Pride Project, is out today in both e-book and paperback formats!
June 1st is the beginning of Pride month, and to celebrate, I wrote a story about four teenagers (17-18 year-olds) figuring things out as they help launch the first annual Pride festival in their town.
Their story is pretty low-angst and light on the sex; I wanted to explore coming out with positive spins all around and tell a cute story while I was at it. I rea...

Flashback: The Disappeared
I get one question more than any other even years after the book was published: “What happened to Noah?” So, let me start this flashback post by telling you the inspiration for the book. If you haven't read it yet, check out the book's page on Amazon, since this post does contain spoilers, and I wouldn’t want to ruin the experience for you if you do decide to read the story.
At that time, I'd finished writing The Chicago Series, All the Love Songs, and The Fire, and I had no plans to write any...

To her friends, Aria is a player who sleeps around, lacks ambition, and is a little bit lost. In The Fireworks, you'll find out the truth and see who Aria really is.

Flashback: Around the World
Around the World was a difficult book for me to write. I wanted to combine several elements into one book and make it all make sense. I’ve read many books where there are too many plots or so many things to try to remember or focus on with the characters, that I wanted to challenge myself to tell a good story where the things that have been holding the main characters back from falling in love were the exact things that these characters could provide one another.
There’s so much not said about ...

Coming Soon: Pride Festival
About a year ago or so, I Heart SapphFic asked me to be a part of a project with some amazing authors, writing a novella that had something to do with Pride. I said yes, of course, and have been working with this group of talented people for the past several months putting this collection together.
When I was thinking about what to write about Pride, an idea instantly hit me: a festival. I got a picture of a Ferris wheel in my mind and decided to tell the story around someone putting together ...

Flashback: The Unexpected Dream
When I started thinking about The Sports Series, I knew the sports I wanted to write about, but not the characters or plots yet.
Always More was easy because it was my favorite sport, and I knew I wanted it to end at the 2020 Olympics, where Team USA would win their first gold medal. (Which actually happened later!)
With The Unexpected Dream, I had a chance to do something similar since softball was back in the Games for 2020. (They lost to Japan in the final instead of winning, so I got 1 out...
