Soundtracks

I’d been publishing for 5 years when I linked soundtracks for my books on my site. I tend to listen to audiobooks or music when I write, but prior to this, I haven’t put any music together for my books, specifically. Toward the end of 2022, I was re-reading some of my books, looking for quotes and things I wanted to use for social media. When I hopped on Spotify, I started thinking that this song works for that scene, or I’d remember listening to a song while writing a particular book. My wife g...

FAQ: Audiobooks

I get a lot of messages asking me about why a certain book isn’t in audio yet or when it will be in audio, so I thought I’d write a blog about my journey in audio so far and why it might take a while for my entire (large) back catalog to be in audio.

I had no plans to make audiobooks back when I first started publishing. I had a day job (still do) that took up much of my time, and my wife was too busy running the business and putting out new books. When an audiobook agent reached out to me ask...

FREE Novella: Cabin Crasher

I wrote a little wintery novella with some opposites-attract, trapped-in-a-cabin fun.

Anyone who subscribes to my newsletter will now get this story for FREE just for signing up, but site subscribers will get it for free as well. When you create a login for the site, you can get this story, The Proposal Series, and Emily & Alison: The Beginning (a companion novella to Finding a Keeper) all for free.

Cabin Crasher is available now and is about 40k of wintery fun.

I hope you enjoy it!

WHA: Post-Epilogues

A long time ago now (this was way pre-COVID, when I still went to an office regularly), I was standing in my bathroom, getting ready for work, and my wife was sitting on the bed. I don’t remember what we were talking about before this, if anything, but I had an idea. I get them a lot, and sometimes, she rolls her eyes at me. Other times, she says, "Yeah, do that." So, I never quite know what I’m going to get. That morning, I said something to the effect of "What if I write something like post-ep...

Coming Soon: Future Wife

Some of you have already noticed that I have a new book up for pre-order. Normally, I announce when a new pre-order is available almost right away, but I did so pretty low-key this time because I was wrapping up the Holiday Series.

If you’re wondering why I put it on pre-order if I wasn’t going to actively mention it everywhere until now, that’s because you have to have a book available on Amazon to produce it as an audiobook with ACX (where I produce my audiobooks), so... FUTURE WIFE, a book ...

Fan Fiction

A lot of authors start in fan fiction, and I’m no exception to that. In fact, it’s because I wrote fan fiction that I met my wife, who then encouraged me to write and publish my books and now runs the business part of Pyland Publishing.

I wanted to write a blog about my time spent writing fan fiction. Why did I write it? What were the ships and shows I wrote about? And how did that lead me to later publishing my own original novels? I spoke very briefly about this in another blog, but I go into...

Holiday Series Giveaway!

Happy Holidays everyone!

To celebrate the end of The Holiday Series with THE WAIT IS OVER being released (and don’t worry, there’s still a WHAT HAPPENED AFTER coming), I’ve decided to do one of the biggest giveaways I’ve ever done.

My wife and I were talking one night, and I asked randomly, “Which of the six main friends would you want to hang out with just to chill and watch a movie?” She said Ellie, I asked her why, and an idea was born: “What if we asked everyone about that?”

In this Go...

New Release: The Wait Is Over

Our shy Scarlet has a book out today! It’s called THE WAIT IS OVER, and it’s the final book in the Holiday Series before my traditional WHA finale.

(You can already pre-order a What Happened After - out January 5th, 2023).

Scarlet’s story was one I really wanted to get to, but for some reason, I made Scarlet last. I mean, it’s called The Wait Is Over, but the waiting was hard even for me - I was ready to tell her story.

This is very mild-to-none angst, just in time for Christmas, and it’s ...
