RWA's 2020 Virtual Conference.

Well, I had a blast at the conference; it was really fun - and easy - as I was sitting on my ass in front of my desktop for the 3-day event.
I learned a lot, and met some really great authors!

And on a semi-related topic: I may have mentioned my author site, Goodreads, and my Pinterest account with some conference attendees. Here's the Pinterest link:

Another strange word count:

124,500 words. Yeah... I won't be querying anywhere. lol In any case, I prefer to self-publish anyway.

"Romance Around the World"

I spent a few hours at two virtual author events this week, presented by Spring Fling Romance Book Talk, with Jen Prokop. It was held on July 23rd and July 25th.
I really enjoyed the conversation on the 2nd day, featuring the author Scarlett Peckham. Not only is she an amazing writer, but she's funny too.

Evergreen Writing Oasis

While I missed the first day, I've learned a lot and am currently enjoying the 3-day author retreat via YouTube.
I think that I may have found an editor or two to help me get my shit together, i.e. COPY EDITING!!! lol
It's also nice to know that some will allow one to make payment arrangements...(even though I still need to save some money).

Free access for Black writers to the RWA's annual conference.

The RWA (Romance Writers of America) will have their annual conference coming up at the end of August, and as a show of support (and reparations), they are offering 100 conference scholarships to non-member Black writers - published or not. This will include a three-day pass for the virtual event, as well as the recording of the conference.
For those interested in attending, you have to apply before July 21st. I don't know how they'll pick the winners.

Current update on writing.

Word count, as of 6/16/20, @ 1:45pm:
119,135. And yeah - this is STILL Ramiel's story, but it's coming to its conclusion. I like how it's turning out, so my replotting seems to be working. Damn...with all of the shit going on with Ramiel (Raymond) this could almost be a separate book, with over 230 pages, so far. Book I - Chazaqiel's story - is around 150 pages.

'Angelo II' doesn't have any 'filler', as everything is germane to the story. Obviously, I have a BIG story to tell. lol

Okay...I think that I may have bitten off more than I can chew.

The Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal chapter of the RWA is having its annual 'On the Far Side' contest, and I volunteered to be a judge. I have EIGHT entries to read and score by June 29th. Granted, they are the first 20 pages or so of each novel, but still...a lot to read.
Since I offered to help, I'm committed to the task. Plus, I may actually discover a few authors to add to my growing TBR list!
