Gisele Walko
I just found out today that the author Gisele Walko has died. She was a wonderful friend here, and I'm going to miss her very much.

I'm so slow.
Considering the fact that I am a very slow writer, and can really only write on the weekends, I'm surprised at my current word count on Angelo II: 20,000 words exactly. I rarely don't pay attention or give a shit about word counts; I just happened to notice it due to its perfectly even amount. lol
With that - as I have the whole week off - I'll try to get my scattered brain to focus on writing!

Author photo?
Two days ago, I read a Goodreads article on the importance of the author getting photos up on various sites, to promote and improve one's 'brand'.
No longer being that young semi-flashy party demon of decades gone by, I have to admit that now, I'm not as photogenic as I use to be.
Not wanting to put up a picture - I write under a pen name of sorts, and wish to remain anonymous - I had pretty much made up my mind that M.F. Hopkins would not have a Goodreads mugshot.
But...lo and behold! An engineer at my place of employment (who is also a deejay and a photographer) approached me just yesterday, to remind me that he was still interested in doing a photo shoot, and that I could get it for free. I forgot all about asking him months ago, when I had first considered the whole author picture thing. When he put it that way, i.e. FREE - in addition to making me look good (lol) - I decided to go for it. Not sure when we'll get around to it, as the timing is up to me. What the hell...If I can share my weird stories, I may as well come from behind that tan generic Goodreads avatar.
