Angelo II word count...
151,150.
I'm about 2/3 - or 3/5? - done with Dashiel's story. Of course, I'm still figuring out stuff as I go.

Patrol car tutorials on YouTube.
I've found that I need to do a little research on police cars - particularly the front interior.
I already know how the back seat is.

Tne Vivian Awards
The RWA's Vivian Awards is being televised on YouTube right now!
8/3/21:
Oh man... the organization will have a Town Hall meeting this afternoon due to the fiasco over 'At Love's Command'.
I'll be there.
8/4/21: Regarding the meeting:
Members received word earlier that the Vivian award was rescinded, so the discussion was focused on how to improve the vetting process on the entries into the contest. My question was "How did a possibly problematic book get by in the first round?" According to the board - who has nothing to do with the Vivian - no one came forward with a complaint about the book.
I had the opportunity to read the entire prologue and didn't find anything objectionable about it. That being said, some readers' reviews say that there is no redemption arc for the hero, while some say there is.
RWA rescinded the award so that the book's bad press wouldn't overshadow the organization's upcoming conference.

Daniel David Wallace's Find Your Readers Summit.
So, today is the 3rd day of a 4-day online summit, and my brain is in information overload.
I got some great info that I can actually use, but the downside was me being overwhelmed by a lot of techy stuff.
I just happen to be off tomorrow, so I'll be there for the final day.

Word count!
150,000 words!!!
Note that Angelo II is one huge novel made up of five novellas. I'm still working on Dashiel's story, then I have part two of Penemuel's story and a Convergence II to wrap things up.
By the time I finish this, I'll probably have white hair. LOL

FINALLY!!!
After over a month of NOTHING on Angelo II, I'm now back into the swing of things. About damned time!
Of course, it's slow going - my usual pace - but at least I'm writing, and I like what I've got so far. The last scene I wrote features a serial killing character from one of my short stories; he's more or less just driving through Angelo, since he knows he's no match for the other paranormal beings in town.
Speaking of short stories... since my brain was completely blocked with the novel, I worked on and tweaked the collection I'm writing. I've also created a creepy cover for it, and just need to finish the novelette in the book, and write a few more short stories. Hell - I may be finish with this way before I complete Angelo II. The short story collection is called Sinful Secrets and Dark Desires.
So, with the previous writer's block, at least I spent the time working on other projects. Which reminds me... I need to start on some of the character drawings. Dammit.
Angelo II word count: 148,000.
Sinful Secrets and Dark Desires word count: 25,600.

FOLD (The Festival of Literary Diversity)
This Saturday - May 15th - I'll be attending the last day of this Canadian online event.
Saturday is Romance Day, so I hope to meet and greet other writers, in addition to possibly learning something.
Topics/panels/guest speakers are:
* Writing for Harlequin (w/Harlequin editors)
* Diversity in Romance Writing
* Romance: One-on-One with Jasmine Guillory
* Workshop: Build Your Author Brand
* Mood Series: Writers on Love and Longing
I'm hoping this is worth the $39.00 - $33 plus change in US dollars. :)

IT'S DONE!!!
Finally... the editing and reformatting of Angelo, Texas and A Good and Fair Trade are done! The writing is tighter, and the interior formatting is gorgeous! (Except that it all looks off viewing the books through Goodreads' wonky preview window. WTF)?
Anyway, now that I feel more confident about my books, I 'll more or less creep out of my cave. I still don't like social media though. LOL
I can now get back to writing Angelo II!

The Black Women Writers Virtual Summit
It was from Friday, April 16 to Sunday, April 18.
I was only able to attend the first day, and it was pretty fun. I learned a little and met a few authors, editors, and book cover creators.
