Remind yourself it doesn't need to be perfect. No one needs to ever see it. Tell yourself to aim for something simple, like 100 words. Like the saying goes: hands on keyboard, butt in chair, just write. It's NOT easy advice (I struggle to do this myself), but it is simple.(less)

“The truth is, you could write a masterpiece, but if you're hiding it under a rock, no one will ever know.”
Bethany Atazadeh, How Your Book Sells Itself

“Good marketing is reminding your readers regularly about all the valuable things you want to give them out of your own experience, including your book, in a new and genuine way.”
Bethany Atazadeh, How Your Book Sells Itself

“I’m not looking for a prince!” I snapped at the closed door, kicking at my skirt as I paced. “I’m looking for a sword!”

“Your book sells itself—OR doesn’t sell itself—in ten specific ways. We’re going to spend some time talking about each one of them in depth, asking you specific questions to see if you are using each of these aspects of your book to their fullest potential, but let’s start by taking a look at all ten of them together:
1) The Genre
2) The Cover
3) The Title
4) The Back Blurb / Synopsis
5) The Tagline / Extra Promotional Lines
6) Interior Formatting
7) Editing
8) Keywords
9) Categories
10) And YOU as the author (your marketing mindset)

Each of these things can make or break book sales.”
Bethany Atazadeh, How Your Book Sells Itself

“When you break it down, BOOK SALES come from THREE THINGS:
1) Word of Mouth
2) Searches
3) Reviews”
Bethany Atazadeh

“Simply talking about your book is the biggest, easiest, most often over-looked, cheapest marketing tool.”
Bethany Atazadeh, How Your Book Sells Itself

“When you boil it down, a title is a business decision.”
