Day 3,489: Packed!
Floaty kind of Sunday. Going on a trip and we’re all packed. Don’t have to leave tomorrow until the afternoon, so I’m excited to have a little more time to get some writing done. Pups are over at Stephen and Thida’s and I miiisssss them soooo muuuuch.
Night night.

Day 3,488: Fashion
Y’all…it’s been a legit…five years since I last bought clothes. Maybe four. Four or five years. The wardrobe is BARE. Slim pickins.
I finally bought some new stuff. It was really stressful for some reason. I really had to push myself to do it, and most of it—all of it, actually—was online shopping which is extra stressful. So much trying on, not fitting and returning. BUT…
I have some nice shit, now. Finally. Some genuinely nice stuff. Thanks to my friend Ali for his guidance. He really, r...

Day 3,487: The Muck
Man…we all start from somewhere.
We just started our deep dive into Alfred Hitchcock tonight. It was a hang with Josh that I’ve been looking forward to all week. We decided, together, to do the long route. We’re not watching ALL his 53ish movies, but we’re watching most of them. 33 of them. It’s…a lot. It’s going to take us more than a year. But, I think it’s going to be really, REALLY illuminating. A 50-year career. Holy crap.
I’m so tired. Holy crap. Night night.

Day 3,486: Pluto
It’s already past bed time and I’m on baby Joy duty (meaning I have to wake up in the middle of the night to take her out to pee), so this one is going to be brief.
Not a rockstar day of writing. But that’s okay! I’m still within striking distance, and I’ve already done enough to come back and get started on writing this book. So…it’s a win.
Looking forward to wrapping up this particular sprint tomorrow, want to put in a nice loooong day…and then it’s time to prepare for our trip.
Night...

Day 3,485: Fly
Can I finish this sprint to the finish? I don’t know. But it’s already a win, y’all, because it means I’ll be close enough. Close enough to get cracking on this book when we return from a couple weeks off. And that’s a win. A corner—hopefully the corner—has been turned on this next book.
It’s fun. Will it be as good as the first one or the last one? I don’t know. But, I’m excited about it. Lots of fun sequences. Big finish. Still working on the character arcs, but I think it all has to do wit...

Day 3,484: DRS
I turned a corner today on the outline. Whew. FINALLY. Put a bunch of moving parts into place…and I think they fit. I think, again, I’ve bitten off quite the long book to write…but it’ll be consistent with the first two books in this series. I can switch that up next book. Feels right, actually, to have these first three books kinda match up in terms of length and style.
I hope the readers enjoy this adventure. I’m trying to up my game. Trying to write what excites me, plan out sequences I’m ...

Day 3,483: …okay
An okay day. Got some stuff organized that was stressing me out. But I need a better day tomorrow. A kickass day.
I can do it.
Night night.

Day 3,482: The Kill
I was reminded recently of a band I fell in love with almost ten years ago…and haven’t really listened to since. First Aid Kit. Y’all. They’re SO GOOD. I kinda feel like they’re one of the best groups out there that most people haven’t ever heard of. It’s primarily a pair of Swedish sisters, both who sing and songwrite. Their sound is decidedly 1970s folk—they’ve even styled some of their albums to look like Fleetwood Mac, if that helps. Sometimes they do country, too, or more contemporary-sound...

Day 3,481: These Boyz
Bustin makes me feel good!
So…we’re really enjoying Drive To Survive on Netflix. Neither of us have ever really been into racing, but now I guess we are? It’s so messy! And drama-filled! And mostly…exciting. These extreme/sports docs on Netflix, HBO, etc. have become a new genre that we’re into. It’s really cool to see people out there pushing the limit, doing things that nobody’s ever done before. All because I watched a movie about a bunch of people who died on Everest. Ha!
Mira was cele...
Day 3,480: Lynchian
We finished David Lynch today. So cool – watched every one of his movies in chronological order. The perspective that brings is pretty freaking cool. A little bit of an insight into the filmmaker as opposed to just making an evaluation, analysis or having a reaction to just the film. Gives you a sense of the person behind the film. What they were going through at various points of their life, how they tell stories, what themes they keep returning to. It’s good shit. And David was the perfect per...
