Day 3,804: I’m Sure It Was Me

Another night of working through. Le sigh. But…the peeps are happy with the work so far, and that’s a relief.

It’s sleep time. I did my writing. I won’t get to do it tomorrow, unfortunately. Not with the morning I have ahead of me with…more work, lol. We’re getting there. Every so often work is crazy. I’d say about once every three or four months. And I wouldn’t dream of complaining about that, honestly, because the rest of the time, work is very, very reasonable. Projects need to get across ...

Day 3,803: Long Daze!

I worked twelve hours today! But that’s okay. I got my shit done. Writing, too.

Night night.

Day 3,802: He Need Jacket

It was an unexpectedly busy day at work today. Whew. I was busy from 9am to almost 7pm. No nap today! But…that’s okay. It’s good to be busy. I need to earn that paycheck, you know? Of course you do, you hard-working mo fo.

Writing was hard again this morning, BUT…it got better as it went along. I ended up with a couple really good ideas by the end of it. Still not quite filling in the biggest holes, but it’s getting there.

It’s hard, because I’m burned out, truthfully, on the outlining. Ha...

Day 3:801: Close

I’m close. Very close to having this outline sorted, and the major points of this story dialed in. But, I’m not there yet, and it’s sooooo haaaarrrdddd. Sigh. Really hard to focus. To just sit there and think until I come up with answers that feel right. There’s no timetable for that. It doesn’t just happen with a certain amount of time and effort, and man, “resistance” really preys on that. I find myself looking at my phone, checking socials, wanting to get up and do other things, and otherwise...

Day 3,800: Rumble Through

Another lazy day. Exactly what I needed, hopefully, because I have a goal for this coming week: a perfect week. All fifteen hours of writing, done. Gotta get it. Will get it. Just need to be diligent.

Joy is currently paaassseedd out. She had a super long play session with Sunny today over at the Kings.

I watched racing. I took a shower and a nap. I got groceries for the week to make sure I was taken care of. I helped Liz with an audition. We watched Alone together.

I was a good day. An...

Day 3,799: Tissue

Got to watch the Australian Grand Prix live! Lin—Liz’s dad, who’s a huge racing fan—texted right as the race was starting and asked if we were watching. Well, we just so happened to be on the couch, and we tuned in and caught up from the little bit we’d missed to that point. It was a great race! Verstappen was out early with mechanical problems, so it was wide open who was going to win. It ended up being Ferrari one-two, Carlos and then Leclerc, and Norris took third for McLaren. So satisfying t...

Day 3,798: Five Alarm

Wasn’t expecting it to be a long work day today, but it was! In a good way, I suppose.

Started with the first great outlining session I’ve had in a couple weeks. Had several very, very good ideas, one after the other. And then work was busy, but at just the right times, so I was able to go and run a couple errands in the middle of it. And then podcasting was a good time, too, even though the movie wasn’t really. Alfred trying his hand at another comedy; it hasn’t worked for him yet, to be hon...

Day 3,797: Cooper’s Nest

I saw two new kittens this morning. Brothers, I think. About six months? One of them was suuuuper friendly and would have come right up to me if Snacks hadn’t been right there and immediately went to regulate on this poor baby. This is his backyard, after all.

It totally messed up my morning writing. Sigh. Whole day was a bit off, honestly…but then I took a brief nap after work and kinda reset.

I need to bear down on this outline. Get this shit done. I can do it. I can. Just need to put in...

Day 3,796: Three Hours

Twas a three-hour day today. My goal. Whew. All I really did was point out the big holes still in my outline…but at least I know where they are. That is still helpful.

Helped Liz with an audition. 8 pages! But we got it done in an hour. She’s in a groove at the moment. Wouldn’t be surprised if she books it.

Coops has a little something going on with his eye. A stye, maybe? Or his tear duct is clogged? Not sure. It’s bothering him a bit. We’re taking him to see the doc on Saturday. Sweet bo...

Day 3,795: Proper March

A zero day today writing-wise. Sigh. Lots of moving parts right now to waking life. No excuse, though…except for fatigue. And that what I’m working on right now is hard. That’s the plain and simple truth of it. Outlining. It’s hard. For me. Maybe it’s easy for other writers. Maybe it’s easy for you. But for me, this is where all the big questions need to be answered, where the events of the book and the character arcs all must be mapped out. It’s the lynchpin of writing the book, for me. This is...
