Day 3,887: Bobby

So, we found a dog on our walk tonight. His name was Bobby, but we didn’t know that at the time, because he was all by himself, and he had a collar on, but no tags. He was skittish, but he warmed up to me quickly enough for me to put a leash on him…and then he proceeded to take me on a walk around the neighborhood, back and forth, back and forth. He was lost. So, I took him home, we gave him some food—he was very hungry—and he got to hang out in our guest bathroom.

It’s LATE. Podcasted tonight. It was a day off from work, actually, so it was perfect…except that it’s work tomorrow but whatevs. Good writing day. Great, in fact. Finally rolling again. Just need to keep it up.

Day 3, 885: Wilder

Busy day today, but then it kinda let up right at the end and I was able to have a decently chill early evening and evening with Liz. Work hijacked my evening writing session. Kinda. It was also me letting the rope go a bit…but I’m going to get up on time tomorrow—even though I have the day off!—and I’m going to crush my writing session in the morning. No social media. No distractions.

Day 3,884: Good To Be King

So, Ren Faire on HBO is wild. They’re clearly blurring the lines between reality and reenactment—like, there are legit SCENES that play out sometimes with the actual people in the doc…and I’m not sure how I feel about that, it’s a little underhanded because it makes it hard to figure out what actually happened and what they staged to play up the drama, BUT…it is a real deal. These are, apparently, real people, and this is all actually playing out. So. That’s cool. And these people are, truly, ch...

Day 3,883: Witching Hour

So, Sunny has what Cat calls “the witching hour,” where right before bed, she gets the zoomies. She’s doing it at our house now, with Joy. They just ran around the house like maniacs. Joy was super into it. Lol.

A good day today. I did more cleaning of the floor, watched some WNBA, tried and failed to take a nap—okay, because I guess it means I wasn’t that tired—and put together the rest of my second writing music set! I have two of them now, which means that’s a whole session. The first new ...

Day 3,882: Trash Badge

Joy and Sunny are so cute together. Not even just together, which they are—they play so well with each other—but they’re each just so damn cute. Sunny is definitely easing into being in our house; way less on alert all the time, has her favorite spots to hang out in, etc. And she’s really seeking cuddles lately. She loves her snoot to be scritched; she’ll plow her face into your hand asking for them, in fact, which is so funny. And she’s really started enjoying me giving her “hugs,” holding her ...

Day 3,881: Beans

What a week. Busy. Big time busy. But a really, genuinely solid week. I made a lot of progress this week, and I dare say I didn’t burn myself out. I hope I didn’t, anyway. We’ll see how the weekend goes. Doesn’t feel like I did. Still plenty of work to do.

Day 3,880: Price Is right

A little late tonight getting into bed, but only because we had such a nice dinner out with our friends Alex and Nicole. Love those two!

Another really, really solid writing day. I finished out the rough sketch of the whole book…now its just going back through and giving some life to each of the scenes; enough for me to go on when I actually sit down to write them.

Day 3,879: This Is How We Do It

Finally. A solid day of writing. Whew! A really, really good day. I got to the end of this battle, finally. And it’s great. It’s great. It’s exactly what I wanted it to be. Stands on its own…and then when we launch into part two, it raises the stakes that much higher. Like, insane. EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.
