Day 3,906: Grape

Twenty pages complete on the latest manuscript! Boom Shaka Laka.

Feeling a bit zonked about it to be honest…but I know now that’s normal for me. I get zonked when I first get into the swing of things. It’s a disruption of the status quo, which always makes me feel like I’m a little out of it. Just gotta keep plugging away, one day at a time. I love it. Gonna have this book done in the middle of the summer. That’s going to feel SO GOOD. Then…I push for the next one. Really want to get dialed i...

Day 3,905: A Good Good Baby

Ten pages. It has begun!

I truly am the happiest when I’m drafting. The story is there, ready for me to just live it, and living it is the best part. Got through ten pages today pretty easily. Ten again tomorrow is the goal, and ten more after that, and so on till it’s done. We’re home for a good stretch, and I’m going to use that to just knock this book out. I know that will make my co-writer happy, and it will make ME happy. I’m still on track to finish two books this year, for the first ti...

Day 3,904: Cuddle Triangle

Home.

We started watching The Fugitive tonight, which neither of us has ever seen. We know about it. obviously, but neither of us has actually seeeeen it.

It’s so good! Instantly good. And it’s funny, because the opening act is very old school — the escape from the prison bus especially (except for the violence being depicted so graphically), and then the freight train, etc. Made me think of something I’d have seen in the 30s or 40s. There was something over the top and sensationalized tha...

Day 3,903: AA

Got to spend the day with Ashika and Aavya (and Joe and Madhuri) today. It was GRAND. Exhausting, as kids are—Ashi is 4–but grand. We had a great time reading and coloring and playing games and eating food and generally just being silly and enjoying each other’s company.

Wiped.

Time for bed.

Night night.

Day 3,902: Cooper’s Clubhouse

Man, that Neil Gaiman podcast is rough, y’all, and I mean that in that Neil Gaiman is at best incredibly problematic and at worst is a goddamn monster and predator. Gut-wise, I can tell you I’m leaning towards the latter, but we’re only one episode in, so I’ll see how it all shakes out. I doubt it’s going anywhere good.

It was a good work day today! Really good. I’m in a great place for next week. Whew. That’s a relief. It’s warm. It’s late. Time for sleeps.

Day 3,901: Works

Fireworks are going off outside. Big time. It was quiet the first couple years here, I remember now…but then we had a big time fireworks family move in a few houses down, and now its wild out there. We don’t mind. I get it; fireworks are fun. People look forward to this all year. And because we don’t react to the noises, really, our dogs don’t either. So, it’s all good. I wish they’d clean up all the cardboard pieces, but that’s my only complaint.

We had a nice day. Walked the pups early to a...

Day 3,900: Lord

A fragmented day today. Not in a bad way! It was all good stuff, actually…but it was a little helter skelter. Still settling in from the trip. Had errands to run. We went out and got Mr. Pickles sandwiches for lunch together—they’re right down the street, now. Walking distance. AND we’re getting a Daiso soon, making our neighborhood ever so slightly walkable. Or, not our neighborhood, since that’s been “walkable” forever; it’s one of the reasons we moved here—but I mean the business areas. Not t...

Day 3,899: Harry Pocket

Twas the first day back at work. Busy! Really busy. Handled it, though. Got to take a brief little snooze in the evening. Had therapy. It was warm…but not as warm as it’s going to be starting tomorrow and then for like a full week afterwards. Summer is here! With a vengeance.

It’s sleepy time. Need to be up tomorrow on time. G’night.

Day 3,898: Let’s Goooooo

Okay. We’re home. It was a long day of traveling, but we’re HOME. The pups are so glad, lol. And I get it. It’s exciting to go to new places, new smells, new people, lots to check out. But…home is where all your favorite stuff is. All your routines. All your favorite people. Being home is the best. That’s why it’s home.

And now…it’s go time. Need to get a good night’s sleep. Ciao!
