Day 1,808: Big Dreams

Oof. Today was a bit of a sh*t show.

It was just one of those days, you know, where nothing goes to plan? Everything is stressful. Everything is harder than it needs to be. Le sigh.

It happens! I’m glad it’s over, and at the very least, I was finally able to catch my breath (literally…damn cold is still hanging on) and chill out in the evening. There’s just a lot going on.

I am still sick. No doubt about it. I even had a fever for a brief period of the day, BUT…I am feeling muuuuch better. I’...

Day 1,807: Plot Holes and Open Loops

Still sick. Le sigh. But, we push forward. We persist.

I might have pushed a bit too hard today. I was feeling better. I walked the pups, I did a bit of cleaning, I did a walkthrough for a unit in our building with the Ho…and it earned me a fever in the evening

Day 1,806: Sleeeeep

Sooo much sleep.

Today was a fever day. Fevers are just the worst, aren’t they? Finally broke a bit tonight whilst I was hanging out with the Ho, but now it’s back. I’m thinking that Friday is my day. I’ll feel better on Friday. Sure hope so!

Had to cancel with Josh for tomorrow. Le sigh. I’ve had one day of writing in the past three…but I’m giving myself a pass. I have to. I can’t fucking do anything with a fever like this. Uuuuuggghhhh.

Tomorrow…I hope I feel better

2018 Movie #61: Castle in the Sky

‘Twas Miyazaki night number three, and his third feature film City in the Clouds was on the menu. It’s rather amazing to me how good his films are, right off the bat. We’ve already seen some range: a daring adventure, a grand epic. What does Hayao have for us next, and can he make it 3 for 3? Yup.

THE BLURB:

Young orphan Sheeta and her kidnapper, Col. Muska, are flying to a military prison when their plane is attacked by a gang of air pirates led by the matronly Dola. Escaping from a mid-air...

Day 1,805: Sick Day Part Deux

Ahhhh…the fever has set in. Big time. The suck, it has begun.

I did a bit of writing. Gonna do that even throughout all this sickness. Just to keep the ball rolling for when I’ve recovered.

Coco is *chomping* away at her dental treat. She doesn’t get the Whimzees any more. She stopped chewing on those. I think they were too hard for her. These ones are a little softer, but they’re much more flavored, and she still has to chew on them for, like, fifteen minutes. They’re perfect.

Uuuuuugggghhhh...

Day 1,804: sigh

Still sick. Had a fever most of the day. Blech.

Hope tomorrow is better, but from what I know about this particular virus, it’s gonna be a couple days. We’ll see. Shouldn’t be too bad.

Just looking forward to getting better

2018 Movie #60: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

My journey through the Miyazaki complete feature collection continues! His first feature was certainly not quite as deep or epic as what we’re used to from the japanese animation master’s “golden age,” but wholly moly was it fun and visually impressive. Nausicaa is another one I know virtually nothing about. I don’t even think I’ve ever seen the movie poster for it. I went into it wondering if I’d see more of that Miyazaki epic quality…and yes. Holy crap yes.

THE BLURB:

Far in the future, aft...

Day 1,803: Sick

I’m coming down with a cold. I know I am, because I’ve seen these very same symptoms play out first-hand very recently.

Uuuuggghhh.

But, it should just be a cold. It’ll last for about a week. I’ll feel pretty shitty for three days or so, and then things will get better.

Timing-wise, it sucks because I’m coming off such an incredible week…but here’s the thing: I actually believe this past week was no fluke. I really do think this new schedule was key in this week being so successful, NOT pure...

Day 1,802: Vandal

So, the Ho and I watched the entire first season of American Vandal tonight. Like, from beginning to end. And that was AFTER a full work day for me, writing, workout, reading, other miscellaneous stuff and everything. Even laundry!

This new schedule, guys…it’s pretty dope so far. At least one week into my experiment. It’s going well.

The show was really good. I wouldn’t characterize it as ‘hilarious,’ which is how it was sold to me, but daaamnnn is it well done. What I’d say makes the show br...
