Day 1,773: Failure

Ugh.

Today was a failure. The anxiety won. Don’t get me wrong, there were many reasons for the anxiety…but I still let it win insofar as I know that I’m capable of better.

One never *defeats* anxiety. It’s is only ever managed to be the best of one’s ability. And ability can be grown, practiced, and improved. Just like any skill or set of tools, it gets sharper with practice and education.

I was not at my best.

I must let that go. I must turn the page and tomorrow, do better.

So, that’s what...

Day 1,772: Sea Legs

Don’t quite have my sea legs back up underneath me yet, but I *did* get writing done. Not a ton, but some.

I’m working on the novella for the next couple days because I owe it to my email list. They didn’t get any last month because of email snafus, and because I couldn’t give to them anyway, and I was cranking on Red Tower, I blew it off to this month.

I was hoping I’d be done with this rewrite by this time, and I could just slide right into it…but alas. I must let go of that deadline. It’s...

Day 1,771: Up

Home! Ooohhhh…it’s so good to be home, and what a perfect day to be back within the familiar confines than on Liz and my panda-versary. Pandaversary is now a 14-year old tradition. It’s the anniversary of our first date. It’s also the date that I proposed to her back in 2014.

Four. Teen. Years. My my. How awesome is that? Impressive. Legendary! Love you so, so much, bear. It’s honestly hard to believe it’s been that long. Time flies when you’re in love.

She was out most of the day today helpi...

Day 1,770: Road Trip!

We road-tripped today. Oh my lawd, did we road trip.

But first, we stopped by to see Ryan and Lisa and Penelope Elaine Wilkins, who is the newest member of the Wilkins clan. Holy crap is she a cutie. So alert. So chill. So smol. She’s definitely in the paperweight stage right now; not crawling around into trouble, and not teething herself into fussy sleeplessness. And Ryan and Lisa *genuinely* seemed like they were kinda rocking the whole parenting thing. Stressful and tiring without a doubt…...

Day 1,589: Liz + Ali

Lizderfer and Ali got married today.

It was gorgeous. Holy crap, this vineyard was out of control pretty. And so were Liz and Ali.

It’s 1am now, though, so I’m keeping it short. We got to hang with Nicole, Tone, and Betsy at Applebee’s for the day time, take a nap, and then do the wedding.

Food was amaze. Liz and Ali are amaze. It was a wonderful day. And! I got my writing done! Yeesssss.

Good night!

Day 1,588: Well, That Happened

We’re up in NorCal. Ukiah, specifically, which is weird because I’ve known Ukiah as a town off the 101 freeway since I was…3? Maybe even earlier?

We’re here for a wedding–Lizderfer is getting hitched, and all the Disjointed crew is up to celebrate–and it’s weird to have all these LA people up in what is essentially my childhood hood. Almost. Few hours north of here, but essentially my hood.

We’re staying at a Comfort Inn. We went to a soiré down in Hopland, which is where the actual wedding i...
