Day 1,787: Solid

I had a solid work day today. Three thousand words. Plus, I got all my other tasks done today, too. It was a good day. A wonderful way to end the week, and a bit of a relief, too, because I was tired today. I was teetering on the edge of failure all day, and I pushed through.

Huge day today, now that I think about it. Huge.

I feel like I’m back. Words are flowing. Ideas are coming. The confidence is returning, along with more positive thinking. It’s an upswing. Just need to keep the momentum...

Day 1,787: Golf Day

Today was day 6 of 90. I wrote 112 words, and my exercise was a round of golf with Josh…which was glorious.

First the writing: I imagined and outlined the first scene I will write tomorrow. It’s very clear. I should be able to bang it out. Wish me luck.

Golf was so fun. We haven’t played for a few weeks. I wasn’t particularly good today, but I did have a couple excellent puts. No greens in regulation, though. My irons continue to be my Achilles heel. Just can’t seem to play more consistently...

Day 1,786: Four K Day

I wrote over 4,000 words today for the first time in almost a month, I think. Pains me to write that, but it’s true. And because it’s true, we let go of the pain and move on.

This draft will be finished. Soon. Rewrites after that, of course, but it will be another major step forward.

I get why people always think writers are slagging off, sitting and staring at their computer screens, never getting work done, and always working on their “novel.” I get it. I feel like I’m *living* it right now...

Day 1,785: Quickie

It’s sleepy time, so I have to cut this short…but today was a struggle writing-wise. Sigh. This book is really tough. I need to push through. I can push through.

It’s day 4 of 90, and I wrote 228 words today. Not great. I can do better. Tomorrow.

Tomorrow.

Day 1,784: Da Coco

Today is Coco’s Gotcha Day.

I’ve written about it before on this journal, it does happen every year after all, but for those who may not know and/or have missed it: since Coco is a rescue dog, we don’t know what her birthday is. The same is true for most rescues, and thus, the rescue community celebrates the day they were adopted instead. Today is the day we adopted Coco.

I love this dog. Let me count the ways:

She’s small, and she’s soft, and she loves to be held. She is the most cuddly dog...

Day 1,783: Fam

Got together with my Disjointed in laws today. That’s really the best way to describe it, to be honest; in-laws. I didn’t go through what they did, but they’re extended family nonetheless because of it. Chris Redd, who played Dank on the show, won an Emmy last weekend for writing and producing a song and video for SNL. It was a wonderful reason to get together and hang out.

I know I’ve said it before, but it’s still true: that cast is amazing together. They’re one of those special groups that...
