Day 1,790: Back in the Postseason
The A’s are back in the postseason.
I know that probably doesn’t mean squat to about 99% of you…but it means a lot to me. I’ve been an A’s fan since I was ten years old. They haven’t won a World Series since I’ve been a fan, but they have won one since I’ve been alive, in 1989, and that championship was a huge reason I became a baseball fan. I grew up listening to that championship core on the radio.
This young team we have could bring a ring to Oakland. I truly believe it. They’re a team wit...

Day 1,790: Lost Spirits Redux
Today was day 9 of 90. 1/10th of the way there!
I wrote a couple hundreds words today, finished out this chapter I’m working on. Tomorrow is a “full” day of writing. Hoping to hit 4,000 words. I actually am closing in on the final several chapters of the book. Finally. FINALLY! What a huge step it will be to finish.
I downloaded a military sci-fi book on audible for research. It’s immensely popular, and I want to see why. With 2x audio speed, which I find is usually about how fast I need it t...

Day 1,789: Quickie
Doing a quick entry tonight: today was a lot of fun.
Slept in a bit, then walked Coops and had breakfast, and then it was time to head downtown. Liz was doing a podcast recording for this show called Dead Pilots Society where they doing a reading for pilots that were sold but never made it to air. The cast she read with was pretty impressive, and she was amaze, of course

Day 1,788: Solid
I had a solid work day today. Three thousand words. Plus, I got all my other tasks done today, too. It was a good day. A wonderful way to end the week, and a bit of a relief, too, because I was tired today. I was teetering on the edge of failure all day, and I pushed through.
Huge day today, now that I think about it. Huge.
I feel like I’m back. Words are flowing. Ideas are coming. The confidence is returning, along with more positive thinking. It’s an upswing. Just need to keep the momentum...

Day 1,787: Golf Day
Today was day 6 of 90. I wrote 112 words, and my exercise was a round of golf with Josh…which was glorious.
First the writing: I imagined and outlined the first scene I will write tomorrow. It’s very clear. I should be able to bang it out. Wish me luck.
Golf was so fun. We haven’t played for a few weeks. I wasn’t particularly good today, but I did have a couple excellent puts. No greens in regulation, though. My irons continue to be my Achilles heel. Just can’t seem to play more consistently...

Day 1,786: Four K Day
I wrote over 4,000 words today for the first time in almost a month, I think. Pains me to write that, but it’s true. And because it’s true, we let go of the pain and move on.
This draft will be finished. Soon. Rewrites after that, of course, but it will be another major step forward.
I get why people always think writers are slagging off, sitting and staring at their computer screens, never getting work done, and always working on their “novel.” I get it. I feel like I’m *living* it right now...
