Day 2,462: The Terror
The Terror.
It’s so good.
Dan Simmons. I’ve read him before. Hyperion is a masterful book (though, be warned—not a complete tale in and of itself!). This show on AMC from two years back, based on his book, is goddamn incredible. Thank you to Liz for recommending it so highly.
Watch it. It’s masterful.
Hectic day today, but I got my shit done. Need to sleep now. Night
“The Terratin Incident (Star Trek: The Animated Series S1 Ep11)
Welcome to Trek Tours! Our stop today involves getting really, really small, reveling in the show delivering on the promise of animation doing things that live-action can’t, and discussing the stress level of a canary in a coal mine.

Day 2,461: Paring Down & Organizing
The spring clean has become the summer clean.
I’ve been wanting to pare down my stuff. I have too much of it. And I’ve wanted to do it for awhile. I started on it, actually, back at the very beginning of this pandemic, but I still haven’t finished.
Need to sell some things. Need to find better homes for the rest. Organizing. Sorting. Reminiscing. And deleting.
I did a fair amount of all that today. I swapped out one set of closet drawers for another for the things that we use most often...

Day 2,460: Hubris
The Terror, yo. Holy CRAP is that show good.
Run, don’t walk. It’s sooooo gooooood.
Making it quick tonight. Didn’t really do anything today. I was tired. Had a nice long nap tho.
Time for bed now.
Don’t go to the arctic without a rescue plan

Day 2,459: Walk Off Slam
Baseball is back.
This time, for real. A 60-game season. Starting at the end of July. It’s…well, it’s unprecedented. And goddamn am I so glad it’s here. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve very much enjoyed pursuing other activities whilst sports have been away…but I really, really missed them.
I used to get too wrapped up in sports, to the detriment of other aspects of my life, like writing, for example. Not any more. Sports are easier for me to put in a box nowadays. And that takes a lot of the anx...

Day 2,458: Hits So Hard
Woof!
Wiped the fuuuuuuck out, yo. It’s been a busy week! Something extracirricular each day it seemed like, plus work has been buuuusssyyy as eff. But, you know what? I’ve thrived this week. Writing has been great. Truly. I’ve been able to play music each day. Watch some great TV and movies with bear, plus sports. Go on walks. All the while getting my work done.
I finished the second rewrite of these first three scenes. There’s still work to be done, but damn. They are CLOSE.
The song ...

Day 2,457: Late One
Oof. Late one tonight. Going to bed an hour late! But…I’ll survive.
Man…today was a great day. Writing was that fire. I’m at the end of this opening sequence, and I can FEEL it. I can feel the emotion. Still work to do, but I have my direction because I know what my end is. It’s good stuff!
Netflix work was busy AF, but I got all my shit done. Podcast is loaded up for tomorrow morning. Really need to start doing those ahead of time…get ahead of schedule.
Pups are good. Bear is good. Mus...

Day 2,456: A quick one
Going to bed. Need to wake up on time tomorrow morning. I’ve been a little cramped for time the past couple days, and I don’t like that shit.
Thinking about moving my workouts to lunchtime as well…get a little more morning time. I don’t know. We’ll see.
Good day today. Solid. Writing was great. Work was good. Music was great. Got to see Kristen and Argeesht. Arg is letting us play with one of his cameras to see how we like it. Walks were great. Got to watch a little baseball.
Good day

Day 2,455: Sports
Live sports are back. Almost.
I watched the A’s play an exhibition game tonight versus the Giants. We were two weeks away from Opening Day when the pandemic hit back at the end of March. This is the first time I’ve watched my team play since. It was…surreal. And wonderful.
We lost. But, who cares. It didn’t count for anything. 60-game season this year. Nuts. Slightly more than 1/3 of a regular season. It’s anyone’s game.
Work was solid today. Didn’t quite finish everything. I was tired ...
“Mudd’s Passion” (Star Trek: The Animated Series S1 Ep10)
Harry Mudd is BACK with a love potion! Josh confesses his undying affection for this rapscallion of a con-man, we appreciate the show getting off the ship, and we veer off into sharing our love for Wallace & Gromit.
