Day 4,213: A Little Bit

What public figure do I disagree with the most?

You know who. I don’t even have to say his name. Dare I say this prompt today is specifically aimed towards him.

And I do disagree. Vociferously. With every ounce of my being. You should too.

———

It was a working day today. I got through 12 pages, which was my goal! Pretty easy, too. Same thing tomorrow. Twelve pages. Not exactly an easy-going weekend, but it is the space I need to get back on track, so I’ll take it.

It was triple di...

Day 4,212: Black n White

What is my career plan?

Living it, babyyyyy. Writing-wise: its to get to the point where I’m putting out 3-4 books a year, something that might still happen this year despite the slow start. With Netflix work, it might be to transition soon into more management roles, move up a little bit that way. And eventually, I want to transition into writing full-time. That’s still a ways off, but I am working on it. Little by little.

———

It was a scattered day. But, that’s okay. It’s to bed on ti...

Day 4,211: Side Ways

Writing this one late because we podcasted tonight, but damn…Sideways is *such* *a* *good* *movie*. Like…soooo gooood. It punches way above its weight. It should have won more awards. It’s a legit classic. We had a blast watching it, and we even drank a bottle of one of the wines in the movie, a Hitching Post ‘Highliner’ Pinot noir. A blast. Filmed it all, too, but more on that later.

Work was slow today, which I was fine with. I took it pretty easy. Now…sleeeeep. Night night.

Day 4,210: The Truth

What do I do to be involved in the community?

Wow. Great, great question. Right now? Nothing. I am ashamed to admit it, but it’s true. Right now, I do nothing to be involved in my community. At least the one I literally live inside. I’ve talked about getting involved after this latest election, especially since I’m stepping away from social media. I haven’t followed through on that yet. I’ve talked about volunteering at an animal shelter. I haven’t followed through on that yet. There’s so muc...

Day 4,209: Dubs

What job would I like to do for just one day?

So many! The first thing that came to mind, probably because I just watched the Warriors beat the Timberwolves, would be to, like, manage, coach, or otherwise just work for a professional sports team. When I was younger, that would have been to play for a pro sports team, but not these days. Then the next thing that came to mind, because it was my childhood dream job, would be to drive a train. Trains get to go through some of the most beautiful, ...

Day 4,208: Big Dog Energy

I was tiiired today y’all…but I got all my shit done 🙂 hell yeah.

It was a normal work day for me today, which I really, really needed. I was looking forward to it, in fact. And doubly proud of myself because Liz’s dad was in town, which can bump my focus…but it didn’t. In large part because my writing goals are so doable these days. Six pages a day. Nothing. Two hours of work, if that, sometimes. When I’m flowing, six pages can come in just over an hour.

I am wiped, though. Took a quick n...

Day 4,207: Frenz

Had a magnificent dinner tonight to celebrate Liz and her birthday with some of the people whom she loves the most. It was at the french cafe/bakery we went to a couple days ago for breakfast. Loved it. Great food. Great wine. The best company. Really really really special.

I really got down and dirty, finally, on the front yard parking spot project. I got some significant digging done. A ten-foot by twenty-foot rectangle. Gotta go down four inches, then fill that with gravel, compact it, and...

Day 4,206: Dig Dig Dig

I …need to do more outdoor work. I am too wiped, lol. Too wiped. But, I made progress on the front yard. REAL progress. Gonna do some digging tomorrow. I outlined the parking space. Got all the weeds cleared from letting those go for a bit. And it’s only going to be cool weather for tomorrow and the following day, so now is the time. The digging will be the most labor intensive part. Sigh. But I can do it!

Lin is in town. We had a really nice dinner in Beverly Hills. Watched the sprint race a...

Day 4,205: NBD

First of all, Happy Happy Birthday to the love of my life, Elizabeth Ho. I love you, Bear!

We spent the entire day together! I took off work, and we went and got delicious french pastries from a bakery in Pasadena called Oh La La (still deciding if that’s pronounced with an “oo” like the phrase we all know, or “oh” like it’s spelled). It was delicious! The kouign-amann especially (which is kind of like a caramelized-sugar version of a croissant).

Went to the Huntington after that and walke...
