Day 4,194: Home Sick
I’m home! What a nice trip. I am sick though. Again. Feels more like a cold this time…but sick again! It’s been a looooooong time since that’s happened to me. Long long time. I work from home, you know, so I rarely get sick. But my various excursion into the real world in the past month have snatched me.
sigh.
not thrilled about it, obviously…but it was still worth the trip. Just need to recover now. We have Dayna staying with us this week, so she has the guest bedroom, which means I am ou...

Day 4,193: Egg Day
Happy Easter everybody!
So nice to be up in Portland and spend time with Scott and Addie and fam. Scott’s under the weather—they both are, for sure—so he didn’t go to the first activity. I stayed home with him and we played Mario Wonder for a bit, which man…looks so fun. Definitely going to get that game at some point. Very fun.
Had dinner over at their friends’ Eric and Amanda’s house. That was fun too. Egg hunt first for the kids, then a beer hunt after for the adults. Then dinner inside...

Day 4,192: Cal Train
Oh, had a wonderful day with my bro up here in Portland. We did an easter egg hunt, got some pizza with a bunch of their friends, took a nap, explored the sprinter van that they’re looking forward to converting into something they can go RVing with, shared a nice bottle of wine together with dinner…
It was gorgeous today, too. Just a really nice trip together.
Night night!
Day 4,191: Portland!
Suuuuuper late because my already-late-in-the-evening flight was delayed by two and a half hours! Yikes. It’s after 1am. But I’m here.
Tomorrow: Cal Train.
Night night

Day 4,190: Health is Wealth
Describe an encounter with a random stranger that I felt was positive.
It’s silly, but the dude next to us in the VIP area at the Swimming Paul concert was so nice. Vibing with the music, knew all the words, and gave us vodka shots with OJ to chase it. That’s certainly the most recent one. Super nice guy, just sharing the love, you know? We were all having a great time.
There’s been so many others. Strangers who’ve helped me, or others I’ve helped, or just passing exchanges of empathy, or ...

Day 4,189: Whacking Weeds
What place in the world would I never want to visit?
Prison. Lol. That’s the first thing that came to mind. But it’s not the spirit of the question, I don’t think.
Mount Everest is the place that came next. If there was a gondola up there: sure. Hell yes I’d do it. But in this reality, with how insanely dangerous it is to go up there, no. I have absolutely no desire to ever visit there. I’m not dying climbing a fucking mountain. That makes no sense to me. For me. The people who do climb th...

Day 4,188: Win!
Super late bc I watched the Warriors play Memphis…but we won. It was tight, but we closed it out. One step towards me believing in us again.
Night night.

Day 4,187: Drivin’
What is my favorite restaurant?
Ooo, tough question to answer in a food city like LA. I have several favorites, but for the sake of giving one, I’ll mention my most recent favorite restaurant meal experience: Anajak Thai in Sherman Oaks. Been there several times recently and it delivered each time. Taco night, in particular, was spectacular.
But…favorites that we keep going back to: Pho So 1, Uovo, Sugarfish, La Morra, Medici, In N Out, Lal Mirch, Porto’s…good lord there’s literally a doze...

Day 4,186: Play-in
Where do I see myself in 10 years?
Doing very much the same thing I am now, except back to writing full-time. That’s my hustle right now: getting enough books under my belt that I can make it my full-time job. I might even go back to doing client work if I could write full-time. I’d have the energy and space to do it. ‘t would be amazing.
———
The Warriors lost the game they needed to win in order to avoid the play-in. So…for the third straight year, they’re a play-in team. Sigh.
I ha...

Day 4,185: Bounce
What are five everyday things that bring me joy?
Honestly? First thing(s) that come to mind are my wife, Cooper and Joy. And the kitties. Which aren’t things, so I don’t think it counts, but that is the first thing that came to mind.
My headphones. They bring so much to me everyday. Music. Podcasts. Inspiration. Knowledge.
Our TV. Funny to say, but it’s true. Liz and I comment on it all the time, how worth it that TV is. We use it literally every day. She’s using it right now to watch C...
