I am not currently looking into publishing and so do not want to reveal too much but it is a story which I am enjoying writing and hope to have finished in the next few months.(less)

Erimentha is an exaggerated version of myself (more dedicated, more intelligent and more socially challenged) and this meant that my own voice could be distilled through my narrator's. I have always been passionate about anti-bullying, spreading awareness wherever possible, and I always wanted my first book to focus on this issue. Erimentha, like many children who love to learn, is a prime candidate for bullying and her incessant optimism means that she is unable to properly read a situation which often leads to her getting hurt. “remember that you can find friends: remember that there are people similar to you. All you have to do is look up.”
Ruby Granger, Erimentha Parker's To Do List: A Bullying Story

“The leaves are tinged amber at the sides, the pale orange merging with the deep greens of summer. It's as though somebody has dipped a paintbrush in red watercolour paint and then left it atop a green paper towel. The pain seeps gradually through the porous paper and eventually fully stains it: within the month the leaves will be red.”
Ruby Granger, Erimentha Parker's To Do List: A Bullying Story

“It’s only when you wear your skirt an inch below the knee," she says cooly, her eyes glued to mine.”
Ruby Granger, Erimentha Parker's To Do List: A Bullying Story

“There are only two kinds of people who are really fascinating: people who know absolutely everything, and people who know absolutely nothing.”
Oscar Wilde

“A book lying idle on a shelf is wasted ammunition.”
Henry Miller, The Books in My Life

“Humor is reason gone mad.”
Groucho Marx

“The heart has its reasons which reason knows not.”
Blaise Pascal

“Faith consists in believing what reason cannot.”
Voltaire, The Works: Voltaire
