February Release - Runaway Vampire

Book #23 in the Argeneau series, Runaway Vampire, is finally out!
Dante Notte is finally getting his story and of course it starts with a bang. Dante and Tomasso have gone missing but due to a lot of luck and little effort, Dante escapes. But he's naked, has no idea where he is and is being pursued by his kidnappers. And that's when Mary runs into him... literally...with her RV. Ouch!
Runaway Vampire

Other news...
We had a furry visitor for a few weeks. Terri was looking after a black lab named Dakota while her parents were in St. Vincent and we told her to bring her around. So the puppy pack grew by one for a couple of weeks, which meant even more fun and chaos than usual! LOL

I will be attending the annual Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in April, which will be in Las Vegas this year. Perhaps I'll see you there! :-)

Always...

Always, a story I wrote sixteen years ago (Wow!), is being reissued on November 24th!
Set in the middle ages, this story is a fun slice of reimagined history, which gives a glimpse of a romance that almost never was had it not been for a king's doomed reign and a cheating betrothed.

So to celebrate this new release we have another giveaway! Everyone that posts a response to the question (below) will be entered into the draw for a chance to win one of two signed copies of Always and a promotional Lynsay Sands pen (really pretty!). Responses can be posted on my Facebook page, Twitter (using @LynsaySands with #Always), or on Pinterest or Instagram under my timeline.
You have until midnight on Monday, November 23rd to enter!

The question:
What would you do if you were forced to marry a stranger in order to save yourself from certain death... (This assumes you and your new mate don't initially hit it off, however, you know that he/she is a good person at heart.)

Would you take the time to get to know him/her and make the best of it?
OR
Would you look for a way out as soon as it was safe to do so?

Justin Bricker's book, About A Vampire

I have some exciting news... Justin Bricker's story is just about here! Yes, inquiring minds have been asking for this particular rogue hunter's story for quite some time, ever since Bite Me If You Can when he and Mortimer acted like two stooges in their antics to help Leigh get through her very painful turn into an immortal after she was kidnapped by a rogue. That was some pretty funny business! As for his story, Justin is in for a hell of a roller coaster ride with Holly, his life mate.

To celebrate About A Vampire's upcoming release we created another contest giving readers a chance to win one of four romantic gifts thought up by yours truly, Justin Bricker.

They include a lovey-dovey lunch of submarine sandwiches, a 3 month membership to the Flower Of The Month club (that's 3 months of flowers...Yay!), a romantic gourmet dinner for two from HarryAndDavid.com (Yum!), or the grand prize of a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret. Be still my beating heart Justin!!!

We also made a book trailer as a teaser to get you in the mood to read all About A Vampire...hope you enjoy it. ;-)

The Highlander Takes A Bride!

The 3rd book in my latest Highlander series, The Highlander Takes A Bride, is now out on the bookstore shelves! Woohoo! And a double Woohoo!! Cause I had a blast writing Saidh's story. Really, she was sooooo much fun. I'm always sorry to see a story end, but with Saidh's, I actually dragged it past my deadline just because I didn't want to let them go.

Anyway, here's the scoop, The Highlander Takes A Bride is about Saidh Buchanan, a lady like no other you've encountered...she's bold yet innocent, curses like a sailor, knows how to weild a sword and can drink any man or woman under the table. So...I put her together with Greer MacDonnell, a very Alpha warrior who finds his hands full when he inherits MacDonnell and then finds Lady Saidh as one of his first guests. There is a mystery involved. It seems there is a question as to whether the previous laird might have been murdered. And then some pretty suspicious "accidents" start happening around Saidh. But, together, Saidh and Greer will sort it all out in the end...and they have a blast doing it! Well, or I had a blast while they were doing. LOL.

"Do ye like to dance?" he asked suddenly.
"Nay," she said succinctly, but wondered why he'd ask such a fool question.
"Do ye sing like a canary?"
"A canary with a broken neck," she responded.
"Can ye sew a stitch?"
"I sewed me brother up once, but then I was the one who cut him while we were practicing so it seemed only fair," she informed him with a wolfish smile. The Highlander Takes A Bride

Don't forget there are exclusive excerpts, reviews and even a giveaway associated with this virtual book tour! (The grand prize is a stole of either the Buchanan or MacDonnell clan.)

Happy reading!
Hugs,

A quick check-in...

I took a quick break from writing and edits to give you an update on what’s coming up in the Argeneau series as well as in my historicals.

Some of you may already know that the 3rd book in my latest Scottish Highlanders series will be coming out July 28th. This book is about Lady Saidh, a brazen, scrappy, sword wielding Scottish spitfire whose skill in cursing could put any sailor to shame… You love her already don’t you?

The 4th book in this same series is about Murine Carmichael, one of the many ladies who came to Sinclair castle as a potential wife for Cam and who fainted at his feet upon meeting him and his new wife Jo. Although Murine has lost everything dear to her in the last few years, she never once stopped to feel sorry for herself. She’s quirky, resilient and incredibly determined, which is shocking considering her tendency to swoon at the drop of a hat. Oh, and I almost forgot…She has a faithful pet bull named Henry, who follows her around like a dog.

As for the Argeneaus, Bricker’s book, About A Vampire, will be coming out September 29th. Many have already asked so I’ll save you having to type the question… Bricker does indeed get his comeuppance for all the torment he inflicted on his fellow enforcers when they met their life mates. Poor Bricker.

And I’m currently editing Dante and Mary’s story. As a little sneak peak I will tell you this much… Dante is buck naked for the first half of his story. I’m not sure how Mary was able to keep her thoughts straight with that distraction constantly in her face. Talk about willpower! LOL

Sigh. And now I must get back to the grind and before you ask me what I’m working on now I’ll just say this… It’s too early in the story to say so my lips are sealed. ;-)

Will be back soon!

The Immortal WHo Loved Me is out!

My latest release, The Immortal Who Loved Me, is finally out. Yay!

What is this story about you ask? A lot of things. Of course it’s about Katricia’s father, Basileios Argeneau, finding his life mate Sherry, and he’s waited a VERY long time to find her but it’s also about… A woman who’s unwittingly been a part of the immortal world her entire life… A precocious teen whose incredible gifts are both a blessing and a curse… A threat that’s been plaguing mortals and immortals alike for centuries comes back with a vengeance.

Here's a little sneak peek...
Raising her head, she automatically slid along the booth seat to make way even as Stephanie slid along the opposite booth seat. Sherry’s gaze slid from the girl to the dark-haired young man now settling next to the teenager, wondering if he was this Basil person. If so, he wasn’t her type. Dressed in black jeans and T-shirt with a leather jacket on, the guy looked like the stereotypical bad boy. Not her scene at all, she thought with something like relief. Stephanie was wrong, she was not a life mate to this man. But even as she began to relax, Stephanie gestured and said, “Sherry, this is Justin Bricker.”
Sherry swallowed and nodded in greeting, her entire focus shifting to the heat emanating from the man now settling into the seat beside her. “And that’s Basil Argeneau,” Stephanie added.
Taking a deep breath, Sherry forced a smile and turned to peer at the man who was supposedly her life mate. She stared at him silently for a long moment, drinking him in.
Basil had blond hair, but golden blond, not the dirty blond of Leo and his boys. It was also cut short. The man had full lips, chiseled cheeks and chin, and the most incredible silver blue eyes she’d ever seen.
Her gaze dropped to what she could see of his body where he sat beside her, and she noted the wide shoulders under the dark, designer business suit, and that his stomach appeared super flat. But that was all she could tell with him sitting so close. It was enough. The guy was … well … jeez, he was a hotty.
“Definitely the pepperoni,” she murmured.
“Excuse me?” Basil Argeneau said uncertainly.
Realizing what she’d said, Sherry flushed and shook her head. She had no intention of explaining that he was hot and spicy like Stephanie’s pizza pepperoni. And he was. Certainly he was hotter than any guy she’d ever dated. This guy, though, looked younger than her thirty-two. Maybe twenty-five, she thought with concern, and then recalled Stephanie’s claim that these vampires or immortals stopped aging at about twenty-five. Before she considered how rude the question might be, she blurted, “How old are you?”
His eyes widened slightly and then he simply said, “Old.”
Sherry frowned at the vague answer and pressed, “Older than thirty-two?”
For some reason that made Justin Bricker snort with amusement.
When she glanced his way, he slid a cell phone out of his pocket, set it on the table and grinned at her as he suggested, “Try adding a couple of zeroes behind the thirty-two and you’ll still be three hundred and forty-some years off.”
Sherry frowned at the suggestion, not sure she believed him, but before she could question him on the matter, the brush of fingers along her arm made her glance quickly to Basil. His touch had sent a shiver of sensation down her arm, leaving goose bumps in its trail. Sherry unconsciously rubbed her arm in reaction and stared at him wide-eyed.
“Are you thirty-two, then?” Basil asked.
Sherry nodded.
“And you own your own store?” he asked. “A kitchenware store, I understand.”
“Yes.” Sherry sat a little straighter, reminding herself that she wasn’t a breathless teenager, but a grown-up, successful businesswoman who had worked hard and was now reaping the rewards … which she got to pay half of to the government. The thought made her scowl again, which made Basil sit back slightly. Noting that, she smiled wryly and said, “Sorry. I was just thinking about my taxes.”
If she had thought that would reassure him, she’d thought wrong. If anything it made him frown, and that was when Sherry realized it probably wasn’t flattering to be talking to him and thinking of her taxes.
“Are you single?” she asked, to distract him from her momentary faux pas.
“Yes. You?” he asked politely.
“Mostly,” she answered at once.
“Mostly?” he echoed, frowning even harder.
“Well, it’s … I’ve been dating a guy, but it’s just casual; dinner, a movie, the occasional business function. We aren’t exclusive or anything,” she assured him.
Basil nodded solemnly. “I am.”
“You are what?” she asked uncertainly.
“Exclusive.”
It was a simple word, but somehow carried the finality of a judge’s gavel. Sherry was trying to sort out what it meant exactly, and how she should respond, when a chime sounded from the phone Justin had set on the table.

Merry Christmas!

"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?"
I couldn't resist posting this quote from my favorite Christmas movie, It's A Wonderful Life, because these words ring so true. Many of us, both men and women, don't realize just how much of a difference we make in the lives of those around us. It is the gift of loved ones that makes the real difference in life.

From my family to yours, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hugs and creepy elven stares...

'Tis the season...

Well I decided to do a little decorating this weekend... 'Tis the season! However I guess my version of little isn't actually a small amount to most people. When Terri came back to the office Monday morning her first comment was "Wow... It looks like the spirit of Christmas threw up in here!"... I didn't bother telling her that it was only half finished. LOL

The second comment that came out of her mouth was "I like what you did with the elves." And then she went to stand in front of one, eyed it for a bit as she moved herself side to side. Finally she said "Except this one... It's a little creepy. Its eyes seem to follow you." And with that she disappeared into her office leaving me to stare at the creepy elf all by myself!! And after staring at it for a couple of seconds, I shrugged and got a coffee. I find them all amusing, even the eerie one.

Have fun this season! ;-)
