Thanksgiving

Just popping in yet again to wish all my American friends a very Happy Thanksgiving. Just remember that...

If the turkey is toast, there's a Denny's open somewhere,
And if the day is less then delightful, there's always tomorrow!

Enjoy your loved ones and drive safely.
Hugs,
Lynsay

Sweet Revenge Reissue

Just popping my head up out of deadline hell to mention that the Sweet Revenge reissue is officially out on the bookstore shelves today!

And if any of you are interested, here's a link to the chat I had with Sara from Harlequin Junkies about this book, the characters and much much more.

Kidnapped Leigh today...

Well I kidnapped Leigh today and gently coaxed her into buying a Maltese/Poodle puppy that we've teasingly named "Maybe". She looks like she could be Basha's (our Bouvier) twin, just a whole lot smaller!

A Day In The Life...

I went to get my haircut today and was shocked to see lengths of hair as long as half a foot lying around my chair. She cut off all my hair! Ok, she layered it however I only asked her for a trim. It scared the heck out of me until I was able to see the end result.

I returned home to find my three puppies surrounding my car as I pulled in. I did say three. A Bouvier, a yellow Lab and a Bichon Frise/Poodle mix. We couldn't have had a more different mix of dogs I think. Allie the Lab is hyper, playful and very protective, Basha the Bouvier is more laid back, likes long naps and has the deepest chuff I have ever heard and Teddy is a big suck, fairly vocal (OMG there's a leaf in my yard! type yappy) and scared of everything. They keep life interesting.

Happy Day!

Well today is my birthday, again…Groan. These things have a way of sneaking up on you, don't they? Now even though I don't look forward to them anymore because they remind me that I'm yet another year older, it turned out to be a wonderful day. I spent it with family and friends and I couldn't ask for anything better than that!
I got an iRobot Roomba, a vacuum cleaning robot, and a Scooba, a floor scrubbing robot. Woohoo! Now I don't have to vacuum my office every time the dogs decide to visit because my Roomba will do it for me every night. (I swear every time our yellow lab, Allie, does her doggy shake a fog of fur launches from her coat onto my nice hardwood floors.) I'm sure every pet owner can sympathize with me here.
As for my latest news, the second book in my latest Scottish Highlands series that a started with An English Bride In Scotland will be released this month. On June 24th To Marry A Scottish Laird will be published. It’s about Jo, a young woman on a quest to deliver a message to the Laird and Lady MacKay. When she’s attacked by bandits, a warrior named Cam saves her and then offers his escort. It makes for an interesting journey, and we get to catch up with Annabel and Ross and find out what happened to Annabel’s lovely but homicidal sister Kate.

I hope you enjoy it if you get the chance to read it.

Getting Excited…

RWA is less than a week away ladies and gents and I am getting excited.  I feel like I have so much to do beforehand yet all this 'little' tasks can take so much of your time.

Part of the problem is the construction going on all over the city roads. One day the road is clear, the next you're waiting behind twenty or so cars trying to get through another construction zone.   The odd thing is there have been quite a few rather large sinkholes popping up here and there.  You always see this type of thing in sci-fi movies but you never think it could happen to you.  Could you imagine seeing the car directly in front of you just disappear.  Gone.  Nada.  Kaput.  If you aren't tail gating (you know who you are !) and have quick enough reflexes to stop your vehicle before you end up joining the other less fortunate car, you're probably safe but more than a little shocked.  At that point you may find the more disturbing scenes from War Of The Worlds coming to mind (I would).  Once you get over your own imaginings and come to realize that the world is not ending or being attacked by hostile aliens, you may even call someone for help so the poor guy in the unlucky car isn't trapped there indefinitely.

Hmm… I wonder if his/her boss would believe them when they had to call and tell them why he/she couldn't make it in to work today.  I can just hear it, "I'm sorry but I can't make it in to work today.  The earth opened up and swallowed my car… with ME in it."

Love to hear that conversation.

It’s My Birthday… And I’ll Laugh If I Want To!

Yes, I do do a LOT of singing and my new guy pal sings along with me.  This is very strange for me as I’m used to looks of annoyance from innocent bystanders but I dig it.  That’s the one thing about friendship, you never know what will pop out once you crack open that egg.  This time I got a goody, someone that gets my quirks.  Me likey.

I wish all of you a fantastic year too.  So many people are wishing this for me today that I feel compelled to wish it back.  My hope if that this year is the best ever… at least until the next year rolls around!

Enjoy the lovely weekend weather my friends.

RWA – June 28-July 1, 2011

I am getting excited!  Yes, I will be going to the RWA conference and looking forward to signing all those lovely copies of my books that you have.

I have been told that The Reluctant Vampire, Hungry For You, The Countess and The Heiress will be available at the Literacy For Life book signing.

At the Avon book signing I was told I'd have Love Bites and The Hellion & The Highlander to sign.

Also reason I am so excited about this trip… I love New York City.  It's always been so much fun.  I also get a chance to see my editor (Yay Erika!) and my agent (Jenny rocks!) so it's going to be a big chatfest.

So I hope the Big Apple is ready for us, meaning myself, my posse and you my wonderfully light-hearted readers, cause we're a-comin regardless!
