The Outlaw Demon Wails Prize Pack Give-Away
The Outlaw Demon Wails was only a week in the read-along so we could fit them all in before THE UNDEAD POOL is out in February 25, so that means we’re going to have the prize pack give-away today! I’ve got seven packs, each having a signed hard cover of The Outlaw Demon Wails. Also included it a hard cover of Into the Woods, a cover flat of Ever-After, bunny pin, bus token, and the freebie we gave away that year, the Kisten mourning arm band (i.e. bookmark.) I’m also including one of Nicola’s 2014 calendars. I’m Ms. October! (grin) [ Want one? ]
Oh, and if you’re curious, yes, those are tour-ts ready to go out. I took this picture Friday, so they are long gone. Guy is still working on the last odd ones, but chances are good that if you ordered in time for the Christmas print run that you have your shirt or it is in the mail. [ place your order for the last print run ]
You can probably still snag the e-book of The Outlaw Demon Wails for the 1.99 special price, but the next book White Witch, Black Curse should be popping up today or tomorrow to replace it. (Click book to go to sale price.)
To enter the contest for the prize pack, drop down to the comment box at the end of the page here and tell me if you think Marshal was looking for a girlfriend when he came knocking on Rachel’s door, or if he truly thought he was just satisfying his curiosity. (If you’ve not read the book, then tell me what you think of the cover.) Your post is your entry into the random drawing, so please comment only once, even if you make a mistake–on your honor!
Rules and Regs. I will open the page for comments Monday, 9:00 a.m. EST, and close it Tuesday 9:00 a.m. EST. I will then use a random number generator to choose the seven winning commenters. They have until Friday, noon, EST to get back to me via my congratulations email or I give it to someone else.
Stuff to know before commenting:
Guy will ship overseas, so international is okay. (We’ve already sent to Canada, India, and Germany during the read-alongs.)
Chances of winning are dependent on how many enter. We’ve been averaging over a thousand entries, and if you’re entering from your phone, do it early because most won’t scroll that far.
I will contact the winners Tuesday afternoon using the email address they used to comment with, so please check your in box. If you don’t respond to me by email by Friday, noon, EST, I’m giving the prize pack to the runner up, also chosen by the random number generator.
That’s it! Have fun!
Oh! and we’ve got the cities set for the tour. Check ‘em out. [ Events ]
And since I have your ear, if you have pre-ordered The Undead Pool for someone for Christmas, I have a gift card you can print out for under the tree/stocking. Two versions: one for emailing, one for printing. Pick the one you want, and Merry Christmas! (click the image and it should open up a high res version)

Outlaw Demon Wails read-along
I’m about halfway through The Outlaw Demon Wails in the read along. [ More conversation is at Goodreads ] We’ve been reintroduced to Minias, who is NOT a good match for Rachel, despite what her mom thinks. Tom has shown up again, if you remember him from stunning Jenks at Spring Grove and leaving him to fry on Rachel’s dash. Al is being sprung from demon jail by someone, (Nick, probably) and Ceri’s pregnant. (Yay!) She’s also in love. (Yay again!)
Marshal has come back to Cincinnati to finish his Masters, and I just finished the part where they are roller-skating and Trent shows up. Who knew he could skate? Not me. (laugh) But I do like this book for all the moments of casual fun: the skating, helping Trent make a costume, coffee with a demon. . .
I’ll be finishing this up this weekend, so most of my thoughts will be over at Goodreads. We only have a week to read this one so as to finish up the entire series by the time we get to the publication of THE UNDEAD POOL.
And that means, we’ve got another give-away on Monday!
This one will be a little special as I’m including the 2014 calendar from Nicola’s. I’m Ms. October. (grin) If you want one for yourself, just pop over to their website. [ Nicola's calendar ] Makes a great stocking stuffer.
Oh, and those white packages stacked up on my dining room table behind the books? Yep, those are the tour T’s. The last of the Christmas print run are going out today. Yay! Thank you everyone for your patience. It gets bigger every year, and it takes some time to move them all out.
If you missed out on the first print run, we are taking orders right now for the second. [ How to order a shirt and vampire pin ]
The tour is finalized. Lots of new cities this time! [ Is Kim coming near you? ]
And finally, don’t forget that [ The Outlaw Demon Wails ] is on sale at most U.S. outlets this week for 1.99. (e-book) I love giving the readers this chance to update their electronic library, but it won’t last as we will move on to the next title soon.

Last of the tour stops set
The tour is set! As I said before, I’m hitting the eastern side of the U.S. hard this year. They have been feeling neglected, and though I will miss seeing familiar faces on the West Coast, I’m looking forward to the new places I’ll be going this year.
I’ve got a short version here, or you can go to the website for the times and stores. [ more info at the website ]

This is what happens when it is 4 at night. Burrr.
Ann Arbor, MI
Cincinnati, OH
Minneapolis, MN (Edina)
Pittsburg, PA (Homestead)
Saratoga Springs, NY
New York, NY
Ridgefield, CT
Boston, MA
Raleigh, NC
Columbia, SC
Atlanta, GA
New Orleans, LA
Lansing, MI
I’m looking forward to getting out and seeing some of you. If you’ve never been to one of my events, they’re a lot of fun with a very short (one page) read, and a nice twenty minute or so Q&A. (My favorite part) And then Guy entertains you hands out freebies as I work through the line. (His favorite part)
If you can’t make a signing, you can still get a signed book through Nicola’s. International is okay, but email them for a shipping quote before ordering. Also, tell them who to sign it to in the comment box when placing your order. nicolasbooks@tds.net [go to Nicola's]
Nicola’s also has a calendar they put out every year. I’m Miss October this next year. (laugh) I’ll be giving away one with each give-away on Monday, but you can get one as well without all the fuss. [2014 calendar]
If you’re giving a pre-order for The Undead Pool, there is a gift card you can print out for under the tree. Just click to go to a bigger image, then grab it for yourself!

Where’s my snow?
I’ve been haunting the weather maps lately, looking snow. Last night, they gave us an 80% chance of less than an inch, which is an odd way of saying we might get snow, but alas, though it is snowing right now, the map has changed from 80% to 30%, with no more in the forecast until the weekend. And just when I get my adult boys around to push it for me. . . (Who am I kidding? I’ll be the one out there pushing it. The world sounds different under snow, and that’s what I like.)

test post
Pardon my test post. My first one this morning has evaporated, and before I rebuild it, I want to make sure it’s a temp glitch

For A Few Demons More Prize Pack Give-Away
Contest is over, and we have our winners. Thanks everyone who played along. It was a fantastic give-away!
We’ve moved on to book five in the read along, and that means I’m giving away seven prize packs, each having a signed, hard cover first-edition of For A Few Demons More. Also included it a hard cover of Into the Woods, a cover flat of Ever-After, bunny pin, bus token, and the freebie we gave away that year, Rachel’s toe-tag.
You can still get the e-book of For A Few Demons More for the 1.99 special price [ links to multiple devices ] but the next book The Outlaw Demon Wails will be popping up tomorrow.
To enter the contest for the prize pack, drop down to the comment box at the end of the page here and tell me if you think Trent was glad Rachel arrested him and stopped the wedding.
If you’ve ordered a Tour T. I’m happy to say that they came in a week early, and Guy is hustling this AM to get the first of them out the door. Thank you for your patience. Ordering them in two batches, (one before Christmas, one after) really helps keep the price down. We’re working local, and sometimes that means extra patience is involved. (But totally worth it.) Do not email Guy asking about your shirt unless you tell him your size, about when you ordered it, and what email you used when ordering it through pay pal. Thanks! If you sent him a money order or check, it will not be cashed until he sends it.

It’s take your kid to a bookstore day–tomorrow!
Yep, I’ve never heard of this one, but I like it. The link I found has a map of bookstores that participate in this. [ take your kid to a bookstore day ] I think it’s cool. When I was growing up, I got about five dollars for my allowance, and if I went for the skinny books, I could get two. Every so often, I’d pick up a nice big thick one by Herbert or some other old guy. Then three storefronts down was the public library. Dude, I could take six more home with me. Heaven.
Some might say I had a problem, but I went farther in my mind with those books than most will ever go in real life. Maybe that’s why I love what I do so much. I can just . . . keep going.
P.S. A plea from me. This time of year is really stressful, and I’m getting frustrated as I’m seeing some of it spilling out onto my pages here and at the goodreads forum. I’m the last person to talk about NOT letting people walk all over you. (This is why half my neighbors won’t talk to me.) But these are PRETEND PEOPLE we are arguing about. I’m deleting threads instead of trying to figure out who is bruising whose feelings/egos. Save the righteous anger for the real issues out there.
And if I moderate you, it’s not an attack. The nail that sticks up is the one that gets hammered. Nothing personal. Really.

Three new cities
I’ve got three new cities for the tour today! (I’ll have more for you by Tuesday, maybe Monday in time for the next give-away.)
So far, the growing list stands at:
Ann Arbor, MI;
Cincinnati, OH;
Minneapolis, MN;
Pittsburgh, PA;
Saratoga Springs, NY;
New York, NY;
Ridgefield, CT; and
Boston, MA.
I’ve times and places at the event’s page if I’m coming close enough to you to maybe make the trip. [ EVENTS PAGE ]
If you’ve been watching the drama box, you’ll know I was going to put up some lights yesterday, since it was the last warm day for a while. I was somewhat successful, but I wasn’t able to get out of the office until almost dark, and had to cut my decorating short due to low light. I might put a few more up during lunch and hope my boss doesn’t catch me. (snerk) I’m telling you right now what really bugs me: polarized plugs vs non polarized plugs. Come on, people. Get it together. Either you’re going to have holiday lights polarized, or not. You can’t string them together if you don’t have conformity! (Getting off my soap box now.) And what’s with half the string lighting and half not? Huh? (Rolls eyes and kicks soap box into the garage.)
The read-along is moving along. I think everyone has come out of their turkey-induced coma. I know I’ve been playing catch-up the last week, and it felt good to sit down last night and read a few chapters. I’m up to the point where Al is roaming reality, and they have let Piscary out of jail to take care of him. Bad, bad idea.
