Cover reveal and updates
I had the best email to start my week ~ the cover reveal for my upcoming release, Love on the Plaza, with Evernight Publishing.
https://bit.ly/LotPcr
I'll post preorder links on social media should they occur, but you can definitely get your copy when it releases on March 1st.
Years ago when I wrote Love on the Line, a niggling in the back of my mind whispered about secondary characters, but I didn't have the foresight to name a series. Well, those characters started talking, and as a result, I bring you more sexy, romantic comedies with Love on the Catwalk and Love on the Plaza.
These stories were so much fun, and they flowed quickly.
They center around three girlfriends in Boise, ID (and if you know me, you know it's one of my favorite cities, since we lived in that area). I incorporate local flavor in the way of mentions of the Boise Balloon Classic - a hot air balloon festival that we've attended and is magnificent.
I also have story bits about the Idaho Steelheads - hockey team of the ECHL - a mid-level professional ice hockey league. This features prominently in Love on the Plaza, as the MMC is Gino, former hockey hotshot turned GM for the Steelheads.
Of course it's all fictional, but it brings together one of my favorite places with one of my favorite sports.
Plus, sexy romance, so wins all around.
Hope you'll grab your copy and enjoy! Plus review! ;)
*
As for updates, I posted in the comments of my previous blog post that Amazon actually came through with making Keyed Up free in the US market. I'm still working with them, hoping they'll do the same for foreign markets. So fingers crossed.
Regardless, you can always get it free through my Bookfunnel link:
https://bookhip.com/KLQBMMB
*
I'm also working on getting my free military romances into a boxset to offer not only through Bookfunnel, but hopefully across digital platforms, hoping to reach more readers. Because some amazing authors and I have wonderful plans in store for military romances later this year. More on that to come.
*
I suppose that's it for this week.
Be well and as always, happy reading!

When trying to give readers a free book...
Hiya, readers, and Happy Valentine's Day!
Chances are many are working today (as I am) and after my shift, I'll happily relax while reading a good book as well as catching up on social media posts. And no doubt I've already had more than my share of chocolates. ;)
Whatever you've already done, doing, or are going to do related to Valentine's ~ enjoy!! And if it's like any other day in your life, well that's fine too. Just give yourself a little treat regardless.
So, the topic of trying to make a book a permafree ~ meaning free for everyone, for all time, on all digital platforms. Well, as in life, this author journey is a never-ending learning experience, and I learned that I made mistakes. They'll certainly help me in the future, but for now, my plans to have my book, Keyed Up, as a permanently free ebook did not go as planned.
That being said, it'll still be a bargain at only 0.99 for a full-length book.
For those who haven't yet read it, I hope you'll enjoy my second chance romance that's both endearing and heartwarming. It was originally published in 2017, but once I had the rights back to the story, and in preparation for a second story in this series, I revised and lengthened.
https://books2read.com/KeyedUpEd2
The second story, Jazzed Up, will feature Cheryl Mathers, a lounge singer from Seattle, who jumps genres to become lead singer for a pop-rock band, headed by Jaz Reynolds. This story will be included in the April release of the Rock My World anthology, filled with electrifying rock and roll romances.
Rock My World: A Rockstar Romance
Collection
I've put writing on hold for just a bit as I catch up on other tasks in my life, but it won't be long before I start putting ideas together for several projects in the works.
And with March right around the corner, I'll start promoting my next release with Evernight Publishing, Love on the Plaza, coming March 1st!
If you enjoy fun, fast-paced, sexy romance with a touch of hockey, you'll love this story about Jen and Gino.
Don't miss all the offerings from Evernight.

Hello February
Hey, readers!
How's the first week of February treating you?
Very good here.
Love on the Catwalk released and I've had wonderful remarks and shares on SM.
Love on the Catwalk
I finalized & submitted my story, Jazzed Up, for inclusion in the Rock My World anthology releasing April 19th. So excited to get Cheryl and Jaz's steamy, emotional story into readers' hands. The antho is up for preorder now.
Rock My World: A Rockstar Romance Collection
Next, I'll be turning to more writing projects:
*a short second-chance story for another anthology, this one benefiting Breast Cancer Research
*continuing Leesa and Antonio's story from Passion & Duty in my military romance series - you can read the start of their romance for free - https://BookHip.com/WFSRQA
*at least 2 more stories I'd like to complete, including Sapphire's, who made an appearance in Vintage
Vintage
Outside of my author life, hubby and I are hoping for at least a few trips this year, exploring a National Park or two, and hopefully back to Idaho for a Steelheads hockey game.
I've had very little time for leisurely reading, but trying to change that. I'm currently working on a fun & sweet romance, Some Strings Attached, by Jordan Riley Swan.
Some Strings Attached: Clean & Wholesome Rock & Roll Romcom Romance
I'm also reading and adding to my TBR with some fantastic releases from Evernight Publishing.
The Firebrand
Entangled Souls
Any terrific books I should know about?
Until next time, happy reading.

Happy (almost) release day to Kayli & Summer!
Happy Tuesday!
I'm gearing up to blast my new release on Thursday, 2/2. Love on the Catwalk has preorder links for most digital retailers, and will be available directly from Evernight Publishing on release day.
Love on the Catwalk
How about a (lengthy) teaser to get you started:
“Come on, you slippery sucker. I know you’re here and I will find you.”
“Channeling your inner Liam Neeson, are you?”
The smooth voice and throaty chuckle of Summer Richardson startled Kayli, causing her to bump her head against the table she currently huddled under. On her hands and knees. With her ass in the air.
Where’s that sinkhole when you need it?
“Damn, Kayli, I’m sorry. Not exactly how I planned to say hello. Are you okay?”
“Yep, sure, you betcha.” She tried laughing off her predicament as she backed out from her position. Only she went too far and caught her chunky heels on garments behind her, pulling over the flimsy rack holding them, spilling the clothes to the floor.
“Well, crap on a cracker,” Kayli said just as Summer muttered, “oh, shit.”
Well, fvck was more like it, Kayli thought while trying to escape from the mess as Summer lifted the rack, but she kept her potty mouth to herself. It’d already been one helluva morning getting ready for this particular fashion event where she’d be making her debut.
Delayed transport with her stock barely giving her time to sort and organize. Not to mention her own failed alarm due to her scattered brain and forgetting to plug in her phone before sleep.
If one could call a restless night of tossing and turning with barely four hours of rest, sleep.
“There you are,” Summer said, smiling down at Kayli as she pulled away the final garment.
“Here I am,” Kayli said with exaggerated glee. While scrambling to her feet, her ankle rolled in the ridiculous boots she knew better than to wear but did anyways to give her height, causing her to tumble against Summer.
The woman easily caught her, cradling her against her lush body as Kayli’s hands landed on her ample bosom. Kayli released a nervous laugh as she looked up and stared into Summer’s big blue eyes.
“I’m sorry. I’m such a klutz.” Kayli did her best to gracefully back away without further incident. “But then you know all about that,” she said quietly.
“Nonsense. Just glad I was here to provide plenty of cushion for you. Then again, if I’d kept quiet, you wouldn’t have been startled and gotten tangled in this mess.”
Both women looked at the assortment of clothes on the floor and in Summer’s hands. Clothes that were supposed to adorn models that should be arriving any moment now.
Kayli began collecting her creations, inspecting them for any flaws besides wrinkles, while Summer gathered the hangers and helped, well, rehang them.
“Thank you,” Kayli said.
“It’s the least I could do. What were you searching for when I came in?”
“Oh, one of the zipper pulls wasn’t cooperating as I tried to attach it and it slipped out of my hand.”
“Well, let me get these hung while you find it.”
“You don’t have to do this. I’m sure you’d rather get ready.” She snuck a glance at Summer, who’d be strutting her beautiful self in Kayli’s designs. She was greeted with Summer’s perpetually endearing smile.
“Kayli, I don’t mind, since I’m responsible for what happened.”
“It’s not your fault. I’m the one who got tangled in the clothes.”
“Because I startled you.” Summer took the coat out of Kayli’s hand and twirled her finger. “Retrieve your lost item while I handle this. Then I’ll turn on the steamer for any wrinkles that need to be removed.”
“Summer, really, you don’t have—”
“Kayli, I got this.” Summer nodded in the direction of the table. “Go on.”
Kayli spun and did what she should’ve done in the first place, and that’s slide the table away from the wall so she could easily move the boxes that were haphazardly piled beneath. Spotting the lost piece, she stooped down and picked it up then slid the table back in place while neatly arranging the boxes. When she turned, she found Summer watching her.
“Much easier, eh? Not as nice a view as last time though.” She winked before turning away.
Kayli felt her cheeks heat at the teasing comment. A trait the gorgeous model was known for.
Too bad Kayli hadn’t fully outgrown the shy and graceless traits she’d been plagued with since adolescence, causing awkward attempts at socializing or witty comebacks. Her friends, AJ and Jen, were always encouraging her as well as schooling her on snarky dialogue. But at the age of thirty-five, Kayli figured she was who she was. She sighed as she worked on attaching the ornamental pull to the coat.
“Comme ci, comme ça,” she murmured to herself.
“N’importe quoi, tu es merveilleuse,” Summer practically sang.
Those words had Kayli chuckling. How could she have forgotten Summer also spoke French? “Thanks, but I’d hardly consider myself marvelous. Unless you mean marvelously mundane. Marvelously mediocre.
Marvelously—”
“Magnifique,” Summer whispered.
The woman’s stealth was impressive as she managed to sidle up to Kayli’s backside, causing her skin to sizzle. But in the next instant, Summer’s sugary words had Kayli ready to melt against her.
“You are a delightful woman, Kayli Couture, and your creations are superb.” Summer placed her hands on Kayli’s shoulders and slowly turned her so they faced one another. With the extra height from her shoes, Kayli was eye-level to her. “I, for one, am flattered that I get to flaunt your talent across the stage.”
“Well, I’m flattered you feel that way. And you do an excellent job at it.”
“At flaunting?” Summer grinned.
“Oh, well, I meant, parading with such beauty and confidence. I certainly couldn’t do it.”
“Sure you could.” Summer ran her finger along Kayli’s cheek before dropping her hands. “You’re also a very lovely woman who would look great in anything.” She leaned in to perch her mouth next to Kayli’s ear. “Probably best in nothing at all.”
Kayli sucked in a breath. And then another when Summer lightly kissed below her ear.
“Don’t ever doubt your skill or your worth.”

Hope you get your coy and enjoy, and I hope you'll take a quick second to leave a review ~ it's mean so much to me.

Cover reveal and another release date
I have a beautiful cover for my upcoming release, Love on the Catwalk! And I'm going to reveal it... Friday.

Catching up and Happy (belated) New Year!
Heya, readers!
I've been sorely lacking with my blog posts here, and if this is the only place you're following me for updates, my apologies.
If you'd like to keep up through my newsletters, head over to my website to sign up... in fact, I encourage you to! Because when you do, you get a free read, my revised debut romance, Keyed Up.
https://www.laurambairdauthor.com/con...
I'm offering Keyed Up so readers will not only enjoy a swoony second-chance romance, but to introduce you to a secondary character, Cheryl.
She's a sultry singer from Seattle, and she's going to appear in my upcoming story, Jazzed Up, which will be included in the Rock My World anthology, releasing 4/19!
Rock My World: A Rockstar Romance Collection
*
Jaz Reynolds needs a new lead for his pop-rock band, and after one note, one look, he wants sultry singer, Cheryl Mathers. But keeping their relationship strictly professional is proving to be the biggest challenge of his life.
Cheryl won’t pass up this career-changing opportunity with her secret celebrity crush, and with each passing day in Jaz’s presence, their undeniable chemistry rockets off the charts.
As the two find their rhythm and embrace their attraction, a life-altering revelation rocks their world. Will the power of love be enough to bring them back into harmony?
*
So not only have I been deep into that WIP, but also completing edits for my two upcoming releases from Evernight Publishing.
Love on the Catwalk will be releasing 2/2! Cover art coming soon. And I'm awaiting final edits and release date for Love on the Plaza.
These two fun and steamy novellas are the perfect short and satisfying reads that make for a nice break in your hectic day. ;)
In other news, I was thrilled to have been awarded Reader Ready Awards ~ A Recommended Read for two of my paranormal romances.
Destined Dragon

Remember to check out the contest and book promotions at my website. A plethora of free read and book sales to take advantage of.

Cheryl won’t pass up this career-changing opportunity with her secret celebrity crush, and with each passing day in Jaz’s presence, their undeniable chemistry rockets off the charts.

These two fun and steamy novellas are the perfect short and satisfying reads that make for a nice break in your hectic day. ;)
In other news, I was thrilled to have been awarded Reader Ready Awards ~ A Recommended Read for two of my paranormal romances.

An early Merry Christmas!
Hi, readers!
A quick note to wish all who celebrate, an early Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, a Blessed Yule, and joy this holiday season.
I have my regular work schedule this week (only 2 days - and yes, I'm fortunate!) Then I'll be spending time with family as well as working on my WIP - a rock and roll romance for the Rock My World anthology releasing April 2023.
Good news! I completed first edits on Love on the Catwalk - my upcoming release with Evernight Publishing. This is a fast-paced, steamy romcom with Kayli & Summer you're going to love! Kayli was introduced in Love on the Line, and I can't wait to share the cover reveal and release date.
Love on the Line
Be sure to watch my SM pages for a special treat on 12/26! You seriously don't want to miss it! You can find my links at my website:

An author event for the holiday.
Hey, readers!
Hope this finds you doing well and getting ready for your holidays.
Our Christmas is going to be a family dinner a few days prior, with plenty of lovin' on my grandkids.
In the meantime, I'm preparing for a holiday bazaar this Saturday, 12/17, in Longview, WA.
I'm excited to meet readers, sell my books, and give away goodies! I'll be among wonderful vendors offering unique wares, making it a perfect event to get in plenty of holiday shopping.
If you're in SW WA, come see me! :)
Details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/13032...
I've also had a nice spurt of writing, making a bit of progress on my rock and roll romance for the Rock My World anthology. Getting excited to bring Cheryl's story to readers. She was introduced in my debut romance, Keyed Up, which readers can get for free.

If you weren't aware, there's a party on FB with The TBR Pile where you can discover authors, books, and have a chance to win fantastic prizes. Be sure to check it out or visit their website for more.

Anniversaries and Milestones
Hi readers! And hello to December!
For those who follow me on other profiles, you know this month is special (not only because of the holidays) but because of anniversaries and milestones.
Hubby and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary, our younger son celebrated his 30th birthday, and I'm celebrating my 5-year anniversary with Evernight Publishing!
It's been a wonderful journey working with the team and amazing authors, and I look forward to many more years to come.
And in December, 5 of my Evernight titles have book birthdays!
Second Time Love
The Soldier's Final Mission
Rory's Christmas Angel
In His Sights
A Rose in Time
You can view all my Evernight titles here:
https://www.evernightpublishing.com/l...
(Still awaiting the banner for Destined Dragon) ;)
Destined Dragon
AND... the Happy Holidays anthology I'm a part of, which benefits The World Literacy Foundation, is turning five!! I was honored to have had a story chosen for this feel-good collection any reader can enjoy all year round. Print and ebook are available at Amazon.
Happy Holidays Anthology
Nothing new to report on the writing and upcoming releases, but stay tuned, as there will be news. Promise!
Until next time, enjoy preparing for your holidays, and remember to take time for yourself.
