Happy release to Lea Bronsen!
If you're looking for a dark romance filled with angst and emotion, be sure to check out Shade Addiction by Lea Bronsen.
Shade Addiction
Lea Bronsen
Ex-boxer Mike Logan struggles to put a brutal past behind and make ends meet as a bus driver. When a young runaway settles for an all-night ride, he seizes the chance to do a good deed—get her home safely. But first, they’ll drive around and talk.
What he doesn’t anticipate is that this broken night angel is also a sexy little minx needing a lot more…and not just the gentle kind.
Excerpt:
She gives me a long, languorous look. I think I know what it means: She’s interested by my wild side. Dark attracts dark. She believes she’s found the same kind of fallen angel as she is, a soul mate.
Wrong, kiddo. What you need is someone good, not broken like me.
She reaches over the table to pat my chest. “So hard. Jesus. You definitely work out.”
Her touch sends electric sparks to my groin. My cock pulses. I push her hand away. “Don’t do that.”
“Why?”
“It’s inappropriate.”
“Why?”
I sigh. “I’m thirty-two, you’re what?”
“Nineteen.”
“Nineteen, that’s very young. I could easily be accused of taking advantage of you. Did you see how the waitress treated me?”
She crosses her arms underneath her boobs. “But I’m an adult, and I have boyfriends.”
“You have boyfriends.”
“Yeah.”
“Like, many?”
“Yeah.” She holds my gaze.
I don’t know why I had to make a deal of that.
She continues, “So, it’s not like I’d let anybody touch me if I didn’t want them to.”
“Well, I don’t want you to touch me. Let’s go.”
Be sure to give Lea a follow for more!
Happy reading!

In His Sights
I realize the situation happening in our world isn't meant to be taken lightly, and I hope everyone is coping as best they can.
Here, while hubby is still working (for now), I'm home from my day job as a dental hygienist for the next three weeks. In that time I'll make the most of completing home projects and writing, of course.
I truly wish you all the very best in staying safe and healthy ~ both physically and mentally.

Has the world gone crazy?
As I sit on hold waiting to cancel flight reservations for the first of several trips hubby & I were looking forward to this year, I'm wondering what in the world is happening to mankind. This entire situation with the coronavirus is surreal to say the least.
There's plenty I could say, and it's only my opinion; certainly not meant to make light of the events or offend anyone. So, I'll keep my comments to myself and simply wish everyone the very best in their present situation with staying safe and healthy.
While I'd like to be able to keep our plans for going to Boise to visit our son and see a Steelheads hockey game, I guess I'll hunker down to write and catch up on reading... which, really, I want to be doing anyway! ;)
While progress is still slowly coming along on Shifter Clans 3, my mind is swirling with ideas for other stories. (I know, I know! Finish one story already! Well, if only it were that easy...) I'm trying! But when the writing isn't flowing, I've got plenty to occupy my time, with new releases from R.L. Merrill, Cassie Laelyn, Anna Durand, to name a few in my TBR.

As for the update with the promotion for Rory's Christmas Angel through TaleFlick, while I didn't win the most votes, there were still plenty of eyes on my story, and I will continue to hope it'll lead to something promising. It's a heartwarming family drama with laughs and love, and it's one of my favorites.
Rory's Christmas Angel
With that, I'll wish you all the best, plenty of fabulous reading, and healthy days ahead!

Hello March!
Spring is right around the corner for us ~ I can feel it!
And that symbolizes rebirth. Our cherry blossoms are out in full force as well as the rhododendrons. Other trees are sprouting their buds, just waiting for more glorious sunshine.
For me, I'm looking forward to shining! ;) I have many exciting happenings I want to share, as well as put in my pleas for your help in a daring venture.
First ~ as always ~ I'm participating in a few contests and giveaways where readers can discover authors and have the chance to win books, prizes, and an eReader filled with books. You can find all this at my 'contests and more' page on my website. One contest is underway and the Booksweeps giveaway begins tomorrow.
https://www.laurambairdauthor.com/con...
Second ~ if you want to fill up your eReaders now, all my Evernight titles are on sale at Smashwords, for "Read an E-Book Week". Get your fill of sexy romance!
https://www.smashwords.com/profile/vi...
And finally ~ my daring venture consists of putting my holiday romance, Rory's Christmas Angel, on the platform TaleFlick. It allows authors to get their story in front of producers and directors looking for movie/TV show material. I can gain momentum with what's called the Discovery phase; this requires viewer votes. So my plea is to ask for votes!
Beginning Wed, 3/4 at 10am PST and going through Friday, 3/6, at 4pm PST, viewers can cast one vote for my story.
https://taleflick.com/pages/discovery
I'll reshare the link on Wednesday when voting opens (and beg if necessary). ;) After all, that's what authors do; they hustle for recognition and exposure. Because how else will anyone learn about them? Word-of-mouth and recommendations by readers is a definite boost! So many thanks to all you who have read and enjoyed my work, and have helped spread the word.
With that, I'll leave you to the remainder of your Sunday, and hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

Post-Valentine's Day and closing out "Romance Week"
Hello, readers!
Hope your week was fantastic, filled with plenty of romance... whether you were experiencing it first-hand or immersing yourself in a riveting story.
I was fortunate enough to do both! ;)
Hubby and I spent the last two nights being our silly selves, watching Zombieland: Double Tap and Peanut Butter Falcon, while completely disregarding our usual 'healthy' eating by indulging in popcorn and MnMs.
Because I spend three days out of town working, returning home on a Friday evening and spending time with hubby through the weekend is cherished time. But while he's catching up on a bit of truck work or paperwork, I'm sitting down at the computer to write my blog and catch up on emails.
From a productivity standpoint, I accomplished little 'new' writing. I did however, continue promo for the upcoming release of "Billion Dollar Love"; the anthology coming 2/21 from Evernight Publishing.
I'm excited for you to meet Ivy and James, and I've put an extended snippet on my FB page, giving you a fun tease to their story.
https://www.facebook.com/LauraMBairda...
You can preorder the anthology, filled with eleven sexy stories, here on Amazon:
https://tinyurl.com/tqo3swx
If you enjoy podcasts about various authors (particularly from the Pacific Northwest), please check out my friend's site. She has much to offer! I was excited and honored to work with her, not only for the 'maiden' podcast, but also a recent blog post about writing love scenes.
https://www.squishpen.com/
https://www.squishpen.com/vikkijcarte...
Until next time, may your week be filled with joy, and always unforgettable adventures.

Opinions, Palindromes, and the Super Bowl!
Settle in for a bit... it'll be worth it!
First, we'll start with the Super Bowl, because, in case you didn't hear, it's Super Bowl Sunday! ;)
If you're like me, you'll be watching, hoping for a great game, a worthwhile halftime show, and better-than-last-year commercials. Yes, I truly enjoy football. Hubby loves it, having played in HS and missed his calling to become a coach (in my humble opinion). But we'll get to opinions in a bit... I grew up watching football because mom and dad watched. My mom was famous for yelling, cursing, and cheering louder than anyone on the block! And if you were to watch ME watch football, you'd see I did indeed inherit that quality. I save my exuberance mostly for college football, but NFL gets my attention too. And this year the match-up is between spectacular teams with skillful players, so it shouldn't be a blow-out. Do I have a prediction or preference? Nope, because I like both teams and respect their talent and both deserve victory. I know that's not what will happen but I won't be upset no matter who win.
And if you're not watching the game, you'll no doubt hear or see reports about it because it'll be all over social media... that is if you'll be on social media. If you've got your hands filled with a great read, kudos! Enjoy!
Palindromes: A word, phrase, number, sentence or any sequence of symbols or elements that can be interpreted the same forward or backward. Like: radar, civic, level, madam, stats. Yep, got that right off Google! And today so happens to be a numerical palindrome: 02/02/2020
What does that mean to you and me? Well, it's kinda cool, and maybe you're of the mindset to think it's a lucky day, so you better go buy a lottery ticket. ;) Or maybe it's just another day to you. Either way, I thought it'd be fun to mention.
Opinions! Yes, everyone has them and many think theirs need to be heard. After all, this is the day and age when you can pretty much say or do whatever you want and there are little to no consequences. Like right now, I have an opinion on opinions! (Imagine that!)
Sure, I can say how I feel or what I think about a particular subject, but I'm damn sure going to see to it that I have facts (as best as I can gather) about that subject. I'm not going to fly off the handle because something enrages me. And that's mostly what people are doing these days - spouting off about what makes them mad! Is that going to make them feel better? I guess. I mean, yeah, I get mad, upset, enraged about 'things' and I may have a short fuse (per hubby) but I try to think things through before opening my mouth... because I've learned over time the negative consequences about NOT thinking before I act or speak. (Apparently wisdom did come with age for me.) ;) It's more like education and maturity and paying attention to what's happening in the world around me.
People also have opinions and/or viewpoints about something that doesn't necessarily make then angry, they just feel the need to comment about what's 'trending'. Will their comment make a difference? Maybe, but probably not. I know that sounds negative, but it's reality. For instance, the horrible incident of Kobe Bryant's death. Yes, it's devastating, but not to me, to his family and close friends. I don't mean that in a callous way, it's just fact. I didn't personally know the man so it had no direct impact on my life. What I DID know was that he was a loving family man, an outstanding athlete, and a truly inspirational person; and the world is a little less bright with him gone from this earth. And don't even get me started on the loss of his daughter, who had so much life and potential ahead of her. (Insert tears) So yeah, there's my opinion.
What I'd LOVE to search out and see is more positive opinions, more uplifting of others, and more solutions to so-called problems and incidences that enrage society. So my challenge to not only myself, but to you as well is to seek out something positive and spread the word. It can be daily, weekly, monthly... whatever you feel you want to commit to... but find more joy and positivity in life, and spread that like warm butter on perfectly toasted sourdough!
And if you're of the mindset to sit back and let those who best deal with those situations, deal with those situations, that's fine too.
Don't be stifled from saying or writing what you want, because you never know who is listening or reading, and the impact it could have. I guess I just ask for more positive influence rather than negativity.
Today brought to mind the song by Justin Timberlake ft. Chris Stapleton, "Say Something". It's powerful and so true! If you haven't seen the video (or it's been a while) refresh yourself.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MPbR...
But let's end this post on a teary beautiful video and remember what's important in your world.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN44x...
And with that, I'll wish you all a fabulous week filled with what makes you happy!

New release, upcoming release, and moving on from newsletters...
Hi readers!
It's been a heckuva few weeks since you've heard from me. I've been on a roller coaster of highs and lows!
Let's get the 'low' out of the way:
For anyone who has subscribed to my newsletter, after having my account with my provider compromised twice, I'm closing my account and putting newsletters on hold for a while. That is until I determine if it'll be worth my time, money, and energy.
I really did enjoy sending them, wanting to provide fun content with updates and contests, so we'll see what the future holds on that front.
Now the 'highs':
Evernight Publishing has given us cover reveals in the upcoming anthologies Billion Dollar Love (release date TBD). You can see them in my pinned tweet on Facebook, and watch for the release date coming soon. I'm very excited to be among all the wonderful authors associated with this project!
https://www.facebook.com/LauraMBairda...
Also, I'm honored to have been nominated for Author of the Year at Spillwords, a site where I've had poetry, prose, and a short story published. Voting is underway until the 30th, and I'd love your support if you have a few moments to check my box. ;)

And finally, I'd like to showcase a new release from an amazing author friend of mine, Beth D. Carter. Her erotic historical western, The Scarlet Dove is now available in this re-release, and does it ever sound like a hot, wild ride!
* Liza desires to find her place in the wild west in 1888, dreaming of becoming a doctor. She crosses paths with two Texas Rangers and their attraction to one another leaves them all bewildered.
This book is filled with adventure, humor, and a steamy menage romance. Follow Beth for all her wonderful reads.

Until next time, I'm working on finishing Shifter Clans book 3, with other ideas always brewing!
Happy reading!

2020 is off and running!
Twelve days into the new year and they've been productive. While I am doing the "necessary evil" of promotion, I'm actually taking a step back from the consistency of social media and making better use of my time.
Don't get me wrong, I love social media, seeing what's happening in the world of my family, friends, and other creatives, getting lost in the black hole of games and videos. But we can all admit what a true time suck it is. Whereas before I felt the need to be on constantly to make my presence known, I'm sick of stressing about it and have begun to limit my time. That allows me to concentrate on my own writing, my health and well-being, and even get in a bit of extra reading time when not having fun with hubby.
I'm all over the board with my reading; from Donna Grant's Reapers and Dragon Kings, to rom-coms from Lila Monroe, and Naughty Heroes by a collection of authors known as The Naughty Literati.
In my writing, I'm making strides on Shifter Clans book 3 while ideas are stirring in my brain for more in my Cover Model Series, my New Adventures Series, as well as a whole new small town romance series I began developing a few years ago. So, yeah, the ideas are there; I just need to get them out of my brain and on the computer!
Personally, I'm becoming more diligent with my fitness routine and eating habits. While I thought I did pretty good with my nutrition - sure, enjoying plenty of sweets at times - as with most things, there's always room for improvement. So I'll continue to work on that. ;)
I wish you all a fantastic start to the new year, hoping you're finding something joyful every day and taking the time to take care of YOU.
Happy reading!
