Happy New Year!

Isn't there something magical about the thought of turning that proverbial corner into a new year, as if the slate is wiped clean and we can look forward to better days?
After the year we all experienced, of course we wish it could be as simple as that... but we know there are still battles ahead and somehow we will forge on.
Right? Right! ;)
That's my mindset... to forge on. To persevere. To focus on myself and my family, and making our days the best they can be.
Looking back on my accomplishments for 2020, I'm elated with my releases, my opportunities, and my connections with other authors!

As for the near future, I've completed a short story for an anthology call with Evernight Publishing ~ more on that coming in February.
I'm currently working on a steamy contemporary romance for a summer anthology with stories from some outstanding authors. It'll release June 21st.

Stay tuned for a cover reveal and ARC signups.

And if you haven't seen my latest reading review/recommendation, you do not want to miss Coffee and Condolences, a fabulous read by Wesley Parker!

Hello, readers, and an early Happy Holidays!
Hope this finds you well and planning for some kind of cheer this season.
I'm writing up a storm, working on future projects while also promoting my latest release along with those from authors I hope you'll take a look at...
A Rose in Time is available ~ and it was an editor's pick at Evernight Publishing! Such a thrill. This story is dedicated to my mom, Linda Rose, who instilled in me my love of reading. Don't miss this sassy, sexy, time-travel romance.
A Rose in Time

I read this next selection by my friend, Beth, and it was delightful, emotional, and the perfect holiday read.
The Holiday Grouch

And if you like MM romance, here's a sweet yet sexy read from E.D. Parr that's on my TBR.
Night Song

For more holiday stories, here's a collection By Raven McAllan and others with something for everyone.
Once Upon A Christmastime

And one more from my friend, Sadira (again, on my TBR) ;)

Your FREE reads are here!

It's finally here ~ the 1,001 Dark Nights Short Story Anthology, and it's free to you for a limited time!
Having my story, Love and Honor, chosen for this anthology was a thrill and a privilege. Thirty-six stories from fabulous international authors are yours to enjoy, and introduce you to writers you may not have known about, but will love their work.
1001 Dark Nights Short Story Anthology 2020
And to go along with that is another free story I'm offering that runs in the same vein ~ a military romance that practically wrote itself within a few days.
https://BookHip.com/WFSRQA
There will definitely be more to come in this series, so enjoy and stay tuned!
And if all that excitement wasn't enough, hubby and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on Wednesday.
We had hoped to be in Hawaii, enjoying the sun and beach, along with parasailing and hiking... We've never been on a true vacation! *Seriously* We've taken a few road trips here and there, but to us, Hawaii would've been big! ;)
Here's hoping for a better 2021!
He really is my HEA and as long as we're together, having fun, I am blessed.
For now, I'll wish you all happy reading, and be well!

I feel so accomplished!

Tech is NOT my thing, but in today's world, I need to push myself to learn and try what I may never have thought I could do.
To some, my accomplishments may seem frivolous, to others, fantastic. I happen to think they're fantastic ;)
because I'm propelling myself forward as an author.
I'm getting excited about the upcoming release of the 1,001 Dark Nights Anthology, which will have my story, Love and Honor - a military-themed romance. And I'm looking for eager readers willing to leave a review when the antho goes live 12/1. I've got PDF ARCs available now from Bookfunnel, so be sure to comment with your interest and I'll send you the code.
And go take a look at the cover I made!
https://www.laurambairdauthor.com

I'm working on another story in the same vein as Love and Honor which I'll also be giving away for free to my readers. I'm having so much fun writing these characters and can't wait to share.

As Thanksgiving draws near, the holidays will certainly look different to most, if not all of us. Without getting to sappy or philosophical, I'll just say make the best of it, stay in touch with family and friends via calls/videos, and count your blessings no matter how small. Because there's always something to be thankful for.

Until next time, be well.
XO

I'm a slacker! ...with this blog!

Hey, readers!
Yes, I'm still around.
Yes, I know I've been slacking with posting on this blog.
Yes, I have reasons! Notice I said reasons and not excuses. ;)
I could say, "it's life; it's busy", and that'd be true. And while I have been busy, it's been a good busy!
I decided to set certain tasks aside to really focus on my writing. With extra time off from my 'day job', I was able to wrap up my story, Park Avenue Princess, with the Cocky Hero Club world. It's now in the hands of my editor!
I also just finished edits on my holiday release, A Rose in Time, which will be published next month with Evernight Publishing. I'm so excited to bring you this sassy, sexy time-travel romance featuring Rose, and her Scottish Highlander, Connor. Not to mention Dragons!

Speaking of holidays, I'm looking forward to even more time off, to spend relaxing with family, catching up on reading (both for pleasure and promo), and most assuredly, more writing.
I'm teaming up with several Indie authors to release a summer-themed anthology. This will be my first foray into self-publishing and I'm thrilled. (Even though others more knowledgeable are handling the tasks of formatting and uploading onto Amazon.)
There's a wonderful lineup, so stay tuned for more on that!

If you want to get in on Facebook parties where there will be giveaways, check out my FB page for postings and details. Because who doesn't want to win books and prizes??
https://www.facebook.com/LauraMBairda...

Last but certainly not least - the FREE Short Story Anthology with 1,001 Dark Nights, featuring my military romance, Love and Honor, (along with 30+ other stories) will be releasing December 1st! Watch this space for more or follow my other social media sites.

Okay, so I guess there is one more piece of news to brag about. With the release of books 3 & 4 in my Shifter Clans series, I was thrilled to receive a wonderful review for book 4. Here's the link - check out the entire series for adventure and romance!
Forever Feral

With that, I'll wish you all a very happy holiday season! Be well and happy reading! xo

September 21, 2020

Hello, Autumn!

Here we are at the turn of another season! (Autumn in North America.) We all know how crazy this time thing is... as one day rolls into the next with life's routine, then BAM! - we're approaching the holidays.
Say what?!
That's right, holidays are right around the corner. I have neighbors who put up Halloween decorations last week! Even though there won't be any trick-or-treating, they're doing it for their kids, because they need that 'normalcy' in today's craziness. And I think it's wonderful!
So as the next three months come at us, don't abandon your traditions, your spirit. Celebrate with family, and with friends if you can. Exploit the small joys and make the most of every moment. Sounds simple enough, right? ;)
Here's hoping for brighter days, for health and happiness, and although the world may never return to the old version of 'normal', it can and will get better when you put effort into it.
Be well! XO

FREE book, anyone? ;)

Hello September, and to all you readers!
To some, this year has been a bust; to others, a boon. And then there's me, kind of in the middle. While hubby and I haven't been able to realize our travels plans we were so looking forward to this year (bust), we've been healthy and our family's doing wonderfully (boon).
I also have to give myself credit for what I've accomplished on the writing front! Feral Kind of Love, Shifter Clans Book 3 has released, and Book 4 is coming October 1st. (big boon) ;)
I so loved this series and may not be done with it yet.
Feral Kind of Love
I've also got a Christmas story projected for release in December - more details to follow.

I'm making slow but steady progress on my story for the Cocky Hero Club world. If you've not read any books in the original series by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, then let me get you started. I'm awarding all my newsletter subscribers a FREE book - Park Avenue Player - the book on which my story is based. It's steamy and emotional with humor as well. Sign up for my newsletter and I'll send you the link.

Time for updates!

Heya! It's mid-August and plenty happening.
I'm excited to share thrilling news! Months ago I submitted a brand new short story to a challenge from 1,001 Dark Nights and Blue Box Press. (If you aren't familiar with 1,001 Dark Nights, they publish stories in the world of HUGE authors, such as Donna Grant, Laura Kaye, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Heather Graham, and more.) And my story was a winner!! It'll be published in a FREE anthology releasing in December. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter to receive all the latest about their releases as well as the upcoming anthology.
Check out the BIOs on all the winning authors.

I got cover art for Feral Kind of Love, Shifter Clans book 3; release date coming soon. An author friend and talented designer made a stunning video trailer for it, and you can view it here as my pinned tweet:
https://twitter.com/LauraMBaird
Be on the lookout for it's release as well as more on book 4, also coming soon!

As for my writing, well, it's taken a bit of a back seat to other 'happenings' in life, but even at a snail's pace, I'll get there!

New releases are out in the Cocky Hero Club World, so more sexy romance for your TBR.
www.cockyheroclub.com

As usual, there's plenty in my TBR, from ROMCOMs to seasoned romances. Books by Sadira Stone, Nan Reinhardt, Judy Krentus, and Whitney Dineen.
Gelato Surprise
Meant to Be
Whitney Dineen

Until next time, as always, be well, and happy reading!
