New Book

Well, I may have met my deadline for finishing my book but, as any writer knows, it's far from finished. I've proofread, edited, proofread, etc. It's a process--and a fascinating one. As I go through the book over and over, my mind is on the project that I started months ago. "My Name is Rebecca: A Novelette" was a challenge and I took great pride in it. I decided at that time to write more historical fiction, but a full length novel. Now I can dedicate more time to it--since I had started writing months ago.

The new book, "The Primrose Garden," is a sequel to my first novel, "When Shadows Linger." If you like to read mysteries, romance, and stories that deal with social issues and mental health concerns, you will love this book. Watch for a giveaway soon!!

My first book, "Envelopes of Hope," was inspired by my daughter after she conquered her 35 year battle with drugs. When she finally entered rehab, she wrote a letter thanking me for not giving up on her. This inspired the book. The book is fiction and meant to give hope and inspiration to those who are caught up in the darkness of substance abuse--and to their families who stand by them with support and love.

Looking through the book, I laugh at how my formatting improved with my next books.

The story is historical fiction, initially written as a tribute to my mother's family who came to America from Russia in the early 1900s. As I wrote the book, the story evolved into a tribute to all who have left their homeland for a better life. It is a story about family, love, and culture--and the passing down of all of these values to future generations. And--there are some true stories included that I heard while growing up. As an added thought--the photo of the little girl with the doll is my mother, taken in 1931 when she was four years old.
