Amanda is a young girl who gets involved in the dark world of drugs. It is the story of the struggles that she and her family endure along the way to her getting her life back.

Amanda's story was inspired by a relative of mine who struggled with a substance abuse problem for many years. Because the drug problem is at epidemic levels in our country, I wrote the novelette with the intention of giving hope and inspiration to families who are going through the same or similar problems that my family went through for many years.

My goal in writing the story was to inspire people with substance abuse issues (or other problems), and those who are supporting them; and make them aware that people can make positive changes in life.

While "Envelopes of Hope" is fiction, it was inspired by a real person's story. She gave me hope that I had waited for for many years. And now, I want that hope to inspire other people.
