These super crunchy Fried Green Tomatoes are one of the South’s favorite summer appetizers or snacks! Made using unripe tomatoes coated with a spiced breading and fried until crispy and gloriously golden. They are surprisingly good and are perfect for snacking with your fave dips!

If you’ve never tried fried green tomatoes, now is the perfect time! Summertime means an abundance of these warm-season crops in your garden or in the market stalls. Most often than not, the green ones are overlooked as we focus on those juicy, plump red tomatoes. If you are not familiar with this recipe yet, you probably wouldn't even think about buying immature tomatoes, unless you plan on storing them until they ripen. However, I would encourage you to get some next time you see them and give this recipe a try! I promise you, you will be pleasantly surprised at how tasty these are! You can even customize it based on your liking. You can serve and enjoy it in a lot of different ways, but as for us, we like to serve them with a quick dipping sauce of Vegenaise, minced garlic & lemon juice.

Easy and budget-friendly Fried Green Tomatoes
Nothing beats a great dish that is super delicious and affordable too. You only need 8 plant-based ingredients to make these delightfully crunchy and savory treats. All-purpose flour, cornmeal, onion powder, salt and pepper for dredging, any type of dairy-free milk, large green tomatoes, and oil for frying. I bet you have most of them stocked in your pantry already! Once you have all the ingredients on hand, it will only take you 20 minutes to prep and cook it. Just make the batter, coat the sliced tomatoes with it and fry! An easy summertime treat for your whole family.
Why use green tomatoes?
If you have a lot of early-season green tomatoes, or end-of-season ones that did not ripen on vines because the weather is too cool, you can put them to good use by making this wholesome, southern-style recipe. Green tomatoes have firmer flesh and are less mushy compared to ripe tomatoes. This makes them perfect for coating and frying as they will not fall apart easily. Don't worry, the flesh will tenderize once cooked. They have a tangy, fresh taste that works so well with the onion-flavored crisp breading.

Are unripe tomatoes safe to eat?
Absolutely! As a matter of fact, just like their ripened counterpart, green tomatoes also offer nutritional benefits and contains a lot of vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. These can help reduce heart problems, lower cholesterol levels, and helps maintain a healthy diet. However, please refrain from eating them raw to prevent gastrointestinal issues.
Can I make it gluten-free?
If you are on a gluten-free diet, you can replace the all-purpose flour with gluten-free brand flour. Or you may also use other types of flour that are naturally gluten-free. Take note that using different flours may affect the texture and lightness of the breading. So make sure to check on the information on the package before using it.

Tips when making Vegan Fried Green Tomatoes

Choose green tomatoes that have reached their mature green stage. These should be the same size as ripe ones. They should be firm when pressed but not hard.
Any type of tomatoes can be used. However, do not confuse it with heirloom tomatoes that stay green even when ripe.
If your green tomatoes happen to be juicier than normal, you can use a paper towel to gently blot the excess moisture out before dipping them into the milk and coating them with the batter.
If you bought a bunch of green tomatoes for later use, store them in the fridge or cool place to slow down the ripening process.
Fry in batches so you do not crowd your pan. Placing too many sliced breaded pieces at once will affect the oil temperature and will result in soggy food.
You can add a pinch of salt or seasoning to add more flavors to these fried treats after frying them.
Place them in a wire rack or a plate lined with paper towels after frying to make sure any excess oil is removed. This will ensure maximum crispiness!

If you’re looking for a new and unique tasty snack, these fried green tomatoes are a perfect option! They’re crispy, super tasty, and flavorful with a crunch.

Ingredients 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour1/2 cup of cornmeal1 teaspoon of onion powder1 teaspoon of saltLarge pinch of black pepper1/2 cup of unsweetened plant-based milk3 large green tomatoes~1/4 cup canola oil for frying Instructions In a shallow, medium-size dish (pie pans work well), mix together the flour, cornmeal, onion powder, salt and pepper. In a separate dish, pour plant-based milk. Set both aside.Slice green tomatoes into ¼”-thick slices.On the stove-top, heat a large skillet over medium. Add two tablespoons of oil.Dip tomato slices into non-dairy milk, and then into the flour-cornmeal mixture, making sure to coat them well. Without crowding, place breaded tomato slices in the pan and cook until golden brown. Repeat until tomatoes have all been fried, adding more oil as necessary. Overall Thoughts - Definitely would highly recommend using this brand as your parmesan substitute! It comes in a plastic container with an open top wide enough for a big spoonful to sprinkle over some plant-based pizza, a lasagna dish, and your favorite pasta recipe!

Daiya Cheddar Style Shreds:

Texture - This shredded cheddar-flavored cheese is a perfect thickness and size that is very similar to your dairy-based shredded cheddar cheese. It’s slightly more chewy and firm but is still equally enjoyable once you get used to the texture.
Taste - Very tasty! It has the slightly salty taste that dairy cheese has but at the same time it does have an alternative taste. Despite the difference, it’s very enjoyable!
Overall Thoughts - Definitely would recommend it! This shredded cheese is the perfect texture and has a great taste to throw on top of salads or use to make a delicious cheesy vegan pizza!

Daiya Mozzarella Style Slices:

Texture - Very similar texture to your standard dairy-based cheese slices. It has that flimsy and light feel to it that will remind you of that traditional slice!
Taste - So similar to dairy-based slices! There’s a slight difference in taste, but it is so slim. If you pair it with a sandwich, you will hardly notice the difference at all! They even smell like mozzarella cheese and there isn’t a weird aftertaste that comes with it.
Overall Thoughts - This cheese comes in square slices just like the traditional dairy slices. These are perfect for sandwiches or throwing on top of a plant-based patty on the grill as they’re already pre-sliced.

Miyoko’s Farmhouse Cheddar:

Texture - Very firm! You’ll need a knife to dive into this one. If you cut it into slices, the texture is a bit more firm and chewy than your standard dairy cheese, but pretty spot on!
Taste - Great! It’s incredibly rich and flavorful with a bold and sharp cheddar taste. It even has a familiar smell to sharp cheddar cheese! It is slightly “wheaty” in taste, but is still very good!
Overall Thoughts - Highly recommend it! This cheddar block is packaged into a firm square block. You can cut it into slices to make a grilled cheese sandwich, cut into cubes to throw into salads or bowls, or cut into fancy shapes for the perfect charcuterie board for your family and friends.

Miyoko’s Double Cream Sundried Tomato Garlic:

Texture - Very creamy and smooth. It’s called “double cream” for a good reason! It’s similar to the texture of dairy-based whipped cream cheese where it’s easy to be dipped into and used as a spread. There are chunks of tomato in it which adds a nice touch!
Taste - Incredibly flavorful that is soft and not too loud as compared to a sharp cheddar cheese. It’s bold enough to be enjoyed with a plain cracker or even a bagel but doesn’t have an overarching garlicky or tomatoey taste. There is no “wheaty” taste with this one and it could easily be passed as a dairy-based cream cheese.
Overall Thoughts - Great flavor and smooth consistency! I transferred the cheese to a small glass container and used it as a dipping spread with crackers for a snack and it was very appetizing!

Miyoko’s Sharp English Farmhouse:

Texture - Smooth and creamy. It’s very easy to dip into and is similar to cream cheese but not as creamy as Miyoko’s double cream cheese line of flavors.
Taste - Very flavorful and enjoyable! It tastes very similar to honey mustard dipping sauce and there is no wheat-like or grainy taste associated with it.
Overall Thoughts - Another great dipping option! This would also make for more of a softer slice of cheese to throw on a sandwich or melt onto your favorite plant-based patty.

Daiya Jalepeno Havarti Style:

Texture - This comes in a block format but isn’t super firm to where a knife is necessary. You can dip into it with some force but it’s also firm enough to be cut into to make slices.
Taste - Very flavorful! It’s surprisingly not too hot or spicy for having jalapeños in it and can probably be enjoyed by people who aren’t a fan of hot foods.
Overall Thoughts - Highly recommend this tangy cheese! It would be great used as a dip for crackers as a light snack or even cut into slices for a sandwich.

Miyokos Organic Cashew Milk Mozzarella:

Texture - similar to firm tofu in that it holds its shape, but can be cut into easily.
Taste - Not as flavorful and savory as dairy-based mozzarella.
Overall thoughts - Great option if you’re looking for a mozzarella alternative! It’s perfect for a banger pizza topping as it melts very nicely.

It’s so much easier to just grab a package of pre-prepared cookie mix from the store and skip a few steps while following beginner foolproof instructions, but the amazing and rewarding feeling of having made something entirely from scratch is hard to top. These Kitchen Sink Cookies are one of those “anyone can do it” recipes and we are so here for it!

We know that baking is not necessarily the most improvising-friendly activity out there, quite the opposite, you often hear how you cannot skip a step or how precise you have to be with the measurements. But this amazing and fun Kitchen Sink Cookies recipe escapes the rule ever so slightly.
What are Kitchen Sink Cookies?
Or more like, why are these cookies called Kitchen Sink Cookies? Don’t be shocked just yet, because we won’t be making these on the kitchen sink or getting any ingredients from that area of the kitchen. These cookies receive this name because they use “anything you can find in your kitchen except for your kitchen sink”, which makes sense, right?

This is one of the many reasons why we love these cookies. We are all for using up everything that's been left behind in your pantry or refrigerator, so a recipe that promises to help us out in that department will automatically become a favorite. How to Make Kitchen Sink Cookies?
Using the basic cookie ingredients as a base, vegan butter, sugar, flour, baking soda, and adding others like store-bought vegan egg substitute and all your favorite mix-ins, we can prepare the yummiest cookies. You start by beating both the brown and white sugar with the vegan butter, which will become a creamy (and delicious!) mix, then adding the rest of the ingredients leaving the mix-ins as the last step.

After you have your dough, you’ll have to scoop them to a greased baking sheet and bake them for 10 minutes at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). It is that easy! Once you make these plant-based Kitchen Sink Cookies they will become a regular craving solver in your household.


How to Store Vegan Cookies?
There are several ways you can store plant-based cookies:

You can make the dough ahead of time (maybe when you have some extra time before the weekend and you want to prepare ahead for the treats you’ll be enjoying with the family) and refrigerate it for up to 4 days. Or, if you want to be even more ahead of the game, you can freeze it for 1 or 2 months and bake them whenever you want.

Can I Add Extra Ingredients to a Cookie Recipe?
These Kitchen Sink Cookies (or everything but the sink as they can also be called) are proof that you can add or replace ingredients in any seemingly inflexible cookie recipe. Even if the main ones (like flour, butter, and rising agents) should remain fixed, you can always try and add a personal touch to them. Baking cookies from scratch can be intimidating, but these Kitchen Sink Cookies are so easy to prepare and we are so here for it!

Ingredients 1 cup of vegan butter1 cup brown sugar1/2 cup granulated sugar1 Neat Egg1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract1 teaspoon baking soda2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon salt2 cups of your favorite mix-ins (chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, raisins, seeds, coconut shreds, etc.) Instructions Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.In a large bowl, beat together both sugars and the butter.Prepare the Neat Egg according to package instructions. Set aside.Mix in the vanilla, Neat Egg, baking soda, flour, and salt. Stir in your preferred mix-ins.Scoop dough onto a lightly oiled baking sheet by the tablespoon. Yogurt Parfait

I absolutely love all of the plant-based options for yogurts on the shelves! There seems to be something for everyone. Personally, I try to avoid the cups with a super high sugar content, so I’ve been loving @siggisdairy plant-based yogurt that has more protein than sugar per cup. It’s a rich, creamy, not-too-sweet coconut concoction that is so satisfying and delicious with 40% less sugar than leading vegan yogurts.

I’ve had so much fun exploring different ways to use this yogurt in recipes. I find that in the mornings, I am looking for a quick, hearty dish with a side of sweet to do the trick. This yogurt parfait is a perfect breakfast option that is so quick and easy to whip together and leaves you feeling satisfied for hours.

When I’m looking for a snack in the middle of the day, the parfait is the fresh, crunchy, fruity, and filling pick-me-up I was looking for. Make it your own, too. Top with whatever fresh berries or fruit you have, and add in granola, nuts or chia seeds for a complete and satisfying dish.

Vegan Peach Bread

From the author, Toni Okamoto: My local farmer’s market is amazing! At closing time, you can often find $5 fruit boxes, and because I am the thriftiest lady — I buy them all! Here’s my first creation.

This makes two loaves of bread, so feel free to halve the recipe if you only want one.

From Plant-Based on a Budget: If you thought baking was reserved for cold winter days, then you’re wrong. This delicious and spongy Peach Bread recipe is ready to prove it to you and whoever adores peaches in every shape or form. Enjoying some peaches and cream might be a classic summer treat but you can’t miss the chance to add them to your baked goods.

This fruity bread would be an amazing choice for a special breakfast with the family or for an amazing picnic in the sun. Fear not, you can absolutely make this recipe in the cozy winter if you happen to stumble upon some peaches at your grocery store. Even if you’re not a big fan of baking, this recipe makes it easy to fall in love with it. Simple, easy and seriously delicious.
How to Make Peach Bread?
Now to the fun part. How can we make this enticing peachy bread? It might sound like an elaborated process or full of complex ingredients, but the truth is, it is everything but. You’ll need the usual suspects, like flour, sugar, oil, baking powder and baking soda. In order to replace the egg in this plant-based recipe, we used applesauce and mashed banana (you can read more about vegan egg replacements for baking here), and for the flavoring, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. And how could we forget our star ingredient, peaches?

As it usually goes with dough-based recipes, you’ll have to mix the wet ingredients in a mixing bowl before and then add the dry ones. Once that is done, you’ll stir in the sliced peaches and place the mix in a bread loaf pan. When it comes to baking time, this will be determined by many factors like the characteristics of your oven, the climate where you live in and other variables; but we can always resort to our magical toothpick trick. Have you tried it before?

This amazing baking trick comes from way back, surely our grandmothers used it when baking their delicious concoctions. It basically means sticking a wooden toothpick (or skewer) into the dough and seeing if it’s still a little raw or cooked. If it comes out dry then you’re ready to go, if it doesn’t then you should give a bit more cooking time. So fascinating, rustic, and simple.

 
Can I Use Frozen Peaches to Make Peach Bread?
When it comes to this recipe, it is best to stick to fresh peaches. Any extra moisture might tamper with the cooking process and the end texture (and fluffiness!) of the bread. So, as tempting as it might be, we recommend skipping the frozen peaches and leaving those for delicious breakfast smoothies or summer flavored banana ice creams.
Can I Swap The Peaches for Another Stone Fruit?
Absolutely! Using some delicious apricots or plums would work beautifully and, lucky for us all, would make this recipe fall-friendly. Stone fruit behaves very similarly when baked so if you have another type around, bake away.
How To Store Sweet Bread?
Depending on how long you plan to store your leftover Peach Bread, we recommend different approaches. If you’ll be having it in the next day or two then placing it in an airtight container over the counter should be absolutely fine. Now, if you’re planning on eating it throughout the week, then it might be a good idea to add some paper towels at the bottom of the container and at the top. If you’re determined to keep this heavenly Peach Bread alive as long as possible, then you should know that moisture is not your friend. Allowing moisture in will only make the bread soggy, and, let’s face it, very unappetizing.
Can You Freeze Peach Bread?
So if you want to extend the life of your favorite fruit bread even longer, or you baked more than one and look forward to the day when you can eat it again, you should opt to freeze it. There are few ways to achieve this:

Once the bread is cooled down, you can keep it in the same bread loaf and wrap it with a freezer-friendly bag. The only downside with this is that you’ll be missing your pan for a little while, but it’s easy and mess-free.
Another option is to wrap the bread loaf tightly in a plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil. If you think you won’t be needing the entire loaf next time then make sure you slice it in order to only thaw what you’ll need.
Can I Make This Bread Gluten-Free?
We haven’t tried making this recipe with gluten-free ingredients but you’re more than welcome to try it with some ready-made gluten-free flour mix (like Bob’s Red Mill) or to replace the flour with oat flour and experiment for yourself. If you do, please let us know how it turned out!

Aromatic herbs are amazing. Not only do they smell delightful, but they can really add fantastic flavor and freshness to our dishes without much effort. There is something about having fresh and fragrant herbs readily available to you that will inspire you to cook amazing dishes and spend more time in the kitchen.

From delicious salads, herby plant-based risottos, homemade dairy-free pesto, and fresh salsas, having an abundance and variety of herbs will take your plant-based cooking journey to a whole new level. But there’s one problem, cut herbs tend to go bad rather as quickly as your motivation can for prepping a home-cooked meal. How can we optimally store herbs to make them last longer? We will learn the best tips and tricks to make the most of your precious green and tasty herbs!

First things first, let’s learn a bit about them and why we should include them in our diet!
Where do I Get My Herbs From?

Grocery Store: You should be able to find most of the herbs used for cooking at your local grocery store. Next time you go to get your weekly staples, navigate the fresh isles and pick a few to experiment.
Farmers Market: If you’re looking for more freshness, then taking a trip to your weekly local farmer’s market might be a good call. You will find produce from local farmers without having the middle element of the grocery store. Plus, it’s colorful, pretty awesome for snapping Instagram photos, and a great way to meet neighbors or make new friends.
Grow them yourself: This will not only guarantee you the ultimate freshness but you will find so much joy in growing something from scratch and harvesting yourself, and the best thing about it is that it’ll also save you money! How to Store Herbs for Ultimate Freshness?
For storing herbs properly in the fridge there are two methods we can turn to:

In a Jar With Water: This method is great for those softer herbs which need moisture at the bottom to stay crisp and fresh. This method works best for mint, parsley, basil, dill, cilantro, and tarragon.

Basically, you’ll cut the tips of the herbs and add them to a glass of water as you would fresh-cut flowers. If you want to have it last even longer, store the glass in the refrigerator with a plastic bag over it.

In an Airtight Container Covered with a Damp Paper Towel: for other herbs, like rosemary, oregano, chives, sage, and thyme, it is best to keep moisture out. By wrapping them in a damp kitchen towel you can prevent them from drying out but you keep the oxygen away by placing them in an airtight container.
Which Are The Best Cooking Herbs?
Basil
Who doesn’t love this ultra aromatic and pretty-looking herb? Pesto lovers, I see you! But basil is not only delicious, but it also has amazing nutritional qualities like magnesium which can help with blood circulation. Its two most used varieties include sweet basil (the most common one!) and Thai basil which has a slightly more peppery taste.
Parsley
Another very common herb widely used in culinary preparations, parsley can be so much more than just a decorative topping. Its fresh taste and smell make it perfect for cold recipes such as our Green Goddess Dressing or warm ones like this Matzo Ball Soup! It is also packed with Vitamin K, A, and C.


Cilantro
Some people love it, others don’t. Cilantro (also known for its seed pods called Coriander) has a strong taste and aroma which can cause strong love or hate reactions to those eating it. It has such a particular taste and can add incredible freshness to our dishes. It’s what makes guacamole so fragrant after all, so we have to love it. It has amazing antioxidant properties so make sure you add some to your diet.
Thyme
This small-leafed herb is a great one to start with if you’re a bit hesitant. It has a lemony taste similar to oregano, and it goes great with Italian-style dishes like tomato sauces and risottos. It is also a great source of Vitamin K and C and can help boost your immunity.
Oregano
No Italian dish would be complete without some fragrant oregano. Usually used dried, it goes so well with pizzas, lasagnas, and pastas. Its round leaves contain amazing aromas and incredible flavor, which makes it a chef favorite. It is also high in antioxidants and antibacterial properties.
Mint
This special peppery herb can be used in both savory and sweet recipes. It has a very fresh and lemony taste which makes it ideal for yogurt dressings, garden peas salads, and middle eastern-inspired couscous dishes. Apart from being a good source of Vitamin A, mint has great digestive properties so make sure you use some to prepare a cozy cup of mint tea and relax.

If you decide to put it in your garden, though, know that it grows like a weed and is best for a big container.
Sage
This might not be the most known herb out there, but its soft and light green leaves have an amazing aroma and incredible taste. Our favorite way to eat is with some gnocchi sauteed with plant-based butter and adding it to a delicious spring frittata. Also high in Vitamin K, it also packs a good amount of magnesium, zinc, and copper.
Dill
This fuzzy herb is basically similar to the top of a fennel bulb and it has a very delicate and fresh flavor, which makes it ideal for creamy dressings, cucumber salads, and pickling cucumbers. It is also a great source of vitamin C, manganese, and vitamin A.
Rosemary
This woody herb has a strong flavor and fragrance we love. It has a hard stem and long leaves and it pairs beautifully with roasted potatoes with garlic. But it not only gives us amazing woodsy vibes, but it also has amazing antioxidants and can easily grow in your garden without much extra care.

It’s not only great for eating, we also recommend using it to freshen the scent of your home.
Chive
Another herb that has many supporters and many detractors. Its onion and garlic-like taste can be a little aggressive but also bring lots of flavors. With its long and delicate stems, it goes amazingly well in potato salads and creamy preparations. It contains Vitamin K, choline, and folate (which can improve memory).
Tarragon
With a licorice-like flavor, this herb is very special and not used too often. It has been widely used in French cuisine as a part of a few of their signature sauces like hollandaise and bechamel. Its tender leaves are great for salads and vegetable-focused dishes. Tarragon contains iron and potassium among other amazing nutrients.
Bay
Technically a tree, dried bay leaves are widely used as a herb to flavor a variety of dishes such as flavorful stocks and rich tomato sauces. The leaves are not consumed but used to add flavor via a slow-release during the cooking duration.
Why Do Herbs Go Bad So Quickly in the Fridge?
The main reason herbs don’t do very well when stored in the fridge is moisture. Some cut herbs tend to get slimy when exposed to too much of it.
Should I Wash My Herbs Before Storing Them?
Absolutely. You can quickly rinse them in cold water and then pat dry them carefully so as to not damage the leaves. Make sure you dry them properly with a dry paper towel. Take this as your first step before storing them.

It is super easy to make and only needs a couple of easy-to-find at-home ingredients. It will please both little ones and grown-ups and it can be very refreshing on hot days. If you’ve never tried it before, you might be shocked at how much like soft-serve it tastes. You might even not realize it is actually just blended bananas.
How to Make Banana Ice Cream?
One of the best features of this Banana Ice Cream recipe is that you don’t need to use a fancy ice cream machine or expensive ingredients, all you need is a high-speed blender or food processor, some frozen bananas, and some liquid (be it plant milk, water or coconut water). That’s it. Amazing, right? You might not even need the liquid ingredient if your bananas have had a little time to soften up or if you have a really powerful blender.

Depending on how you freeze your bananas, you throw your banana slices (or chunks) into the machine you’ll be using for blending with the other ingredients (milk, vanilla, and agave) and blend or mix until smooth. You’ll be amazed at how creamy the end result is, so good! If you are adding any other ingredients then add them before mixing. Isn’t that a breeze? So easy and so rewarding and delicious.

How to Freeze Bananas?
If you’re wondering how to freeze bananas, then you’re not alone. It might seem like an obvious process but if you’ve never done it before it might be confusing. Do you freeze the bananas with the peel on? Do you slice them before or freeze them whole? So many valid questions to be answered. Let’s go to the basics:

Freeze bananas when ripe. Yellow and spotty is the way to go since they’ll be sweeter and easier to blend, not to mention easier to digest.
Make sure you buy an extra (or two) bundle of bananas at the store to freeze later when they are fully ripe. If you love this ice cream or are a huge smoothie lover (who isn’t?) you’ll want to have frozen bananas available to you at all times.
You can store your frozen bananas in a resealable freezer-friendly bag (like these!) or in a freezer-friendly container.

Now, on to how to freeze them step by step:

Peel your ripe bananas and slice them. You can also freeze whole or halves if you’re short of time.
Place them in a bag or container and freeze. Make sure they are properly sealed or they might absorb smells from other things in your freezer. We don’t think you’d appreciate eating some lasagna-tasting soft serve.
If you need to use it soon after freezing, we recommend waiting at least 12 to 24 hours for the desired consistency.

How Long Will Frozen Bananas Last?
Once you’ve mastered the seamless process of freezing your bananas, how long can you keep them in there before you’d need to toss them away? The answer is: if they are stored properly they should be good to go for at least 6 months. Make sure you keep an eye for when they start turning brown.
Do I Need a High-Speed Blender to Make Banana Ice Cream?
Not at all! A simple and classic food processor will do just fine. Just make sure you add a bit of plant milk if you realize it is struggling to blend it.
How Can I Flavor Homemade Banana Soft Serve?
We love all different types of banana ice creams out there. This recipe covers a few of them. The classic banana flavored and vanilla-infused, the pink strawberry flavored, and our favorite, the indulgent and creamy Chocolate Banana PB. But the truth is, you can use anything you like to both flavors or color your basic Banana Ice Cream recipe. Let’s see some other fun variations:

Tropical Soft Serve: Add some frozen or fresh mango (or pineapple) chunks to the basic recipe and blend with a touch of coconut milk. You have yourself a delicious banana mango coconut ice cream.
Caramel Swirl: Blend some soft dates with water to create a delicious caramel sauce. Mix it into the basic Banana Ice Cream recipe and enjoy.
Chocolate Mint Chip: Add a tablespoon of cocoa powder, with some mint extract and chocolate chips to your bananas before blending. Voila!

Mealtimes can also feel endless because even though there are those little ones who basically inhale their food in seconds, there are also others who eat very slowly and need more time. At times, it feels like feeding your children is a complex science, but we do have a few tips and tricks which might make your life (a little) easier:

Try to go for easily customizable dishes: this will help you with the issue of different tastes. For example, you can remove the tomatoes for those who run at the sight of them or add more rice for the ones who can’t get enough of it.
Let your little ones help: I know this may sound impossible when you’re rushing to get food ready for the family during a busy day of school runs and work calls, but you can start doing it on those slower days like the weekend. Kids love to get involved in the process and are much more likely to eat what they helped prepare.
Keep it simple: in my experience, the fewer ingredients you use in your meals the less likely you are to find yourself in a dinnertime war. Too many ingredients, flavors, and textures can be overwhelming for kids so keep that in mind.
When possible, opt for finger (or hand-eaten) foods: Things like burritos, pizza and tacos are always more fun to eat than a steaming soup.
Try to choose fast-food favorites and give them a healthy spin: Like the point above, creating dishes that remind kids of the fun of eating restaurant meals outside the home makes food more exciting (yes, sometimes they can be too bored to eat).
Introduce one new ingredient at a time: Don’t go crazy on the new healthy foods and throw them all in at once. If you’re keen on your child eating kale, then add it to a few recipes a few times a week and see how it goes. This smoothie is a great option and was designed specifically for kids!
Try eating with them when possible: I know this is not easy to accomplish every day of our busy lives, but when you can, try sitting at the table with them and talk about your day. Mealtime is a moment to slow down and connect with your loved ones.

This Boba Tea recipe is easy and super fun to make! Try skipping your daily tea run and trying this one out!

Ingredients 6 cups of water3 black tea bags½ to 1 cup of uncooked tapioca pearls, depending on preferencePlant-based creamerAgave nectar, to taste (optional) Instructions In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat, add the three tea bags and allow them to steep until the water has completely cooled.In a large pot, cook tapioca pearls according to package instructions. My package instructed me to cook tapioca pearls in 6 times the amount of water. I used 1 cup tapioca pearls, 6 cups water, and cooked on medium-heat for 20 minutes, stirring regularly. Then I turned off the heat, covered, and let sit for 25 minutes.When the tea has cooled and the tapioca pearls are cooked, scoop in the tapioca pearls into two large glasses. Then, fill the cups ¾ of the way with black tea, and top off the rest of the way with plant-based creamer. Give it a taste, and if your preference requires more sweetness, optionally add agave nectar. Tall Glass with Boba Tea
What is Boba Tea?
Originating in Taiwan, the Boba Tea mania has spread all over the world, and we completely understand why. Boba refers to any drink with chunks in it but it also refers to the pearly bubbles inside. The pearls are made of tapioca starch and the drink is prepared with brewed black tea and milk or half and half, mixed together they create this inventive and delicious drink we call Bubble Tea or Boba Tea.

The color and texture display is beautiful, with the tea mixture at the top, the milky and more creamy mixture in the middle and the round tapioca pearls at the bottom. It tastes sweet and creamy, so delicious. It is usually drunk using thick straws (make sure you invest in reusable options like this one!) to allow for the bubbles to go up. The taste and consistency of the pearls feel like sweet chewing gum or jelly.
How Do You Serve Boba Tea?
If you’re a tea fan, the combinations are endless. You can use any type of tea you like and flavor it with syrups, or herbs and customize it as many times as you like. Make sure you use a transparent glass to display the beautiful pearls at the bottom and the mix of colors.
