While I liked that idea, I didn't think the idea was sustainable. But my protagonist in the original story was a girl, Abigail, who is an heiress to a kingdom of underground colonies situated in the post-apocalyptic United States, and I knew that was the direction I wanted to go in. So I ditched the genetically engineered vampire premise and kept most of the other pieces: dystopia, the New Adult genre, mystery, and world exploring. (less)
