6 Things to do Instead of Smoking!

If you’re a current smoker, the research suggests that no matter what your age, quitting can be extremely beneficial. For instance, if you quit smoking before the age of 40, more than 90 percent of the excess mortality caused by continuing smoking may be avoided.

New research showed that smokers over 65 who quit smoking may reduce their risk of dying from heart-related problems to that of a non-smoker within just eight years.

If you decide to quit, it’s wise to get healthy by eating right and exercising so you don’t turn to another vice, like sugar, as a substitute for smokes. When you do quit, you’ll experience benefits right away and others in the years that follow:

Within 20 minutes after quitting, your heart rate and blood pressure drop
12 hours after quitting, the carbon monoxide level in your blood drops to normal
Within three months after quitting, your lung function increases
Within nine months after quitting, coughing and shortness of breath decrease
Within one year after quitting, heart disease risk drops and within five years related cancer risks are cut in half

what about E cigarettes?  According to Dr. Mercola…

When you take a puff of an electronic cigarette a battery heats up a liquid that contains a flavoring (such as tobacco, menthol, cherry, vanilla, or java), a humectant (typically propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin) and, sometimes, nicotine.

As you inhale, you get a “dose” of flavored nicotine without the chemicals typically produced from burning tobacco. However, the FDA has already detected a potentially deadly antifreeze chemical called diethylene glycol in an electronic cigarette cartridge, along with tobacco-specific nitrosamines, which are linked to cancer.

Research has also shown that the aerosol from a leading manufacturer of electronic cigarettes contains metals including tin, copper, nickel, and silver, silicate beads and nanoparticles, with unknown but likely deleterious health consequences.

Things to Do Instead of Smoking

If you’re thinking of quitting, when you’re ready, the following strategies, recently posted by TIME, may help, especially in the early days and hours:

Chew carrots: A healthy snack can help you beat nicotine cravings (and the urge to bring something to your mouth). Carrots, celery, radishes, bell pepper slices, and other fresh veggies would all work for this purpose.
Distract yourself: Surround yourself with people who are supportive of your choice to quit and who can help take your mind off of cravings.
“Snap” your cravings away: Wear a rubber band around your wrist and snap it if you’re considering giving in to a craving. The sting will distract you and give you a moment to remember all of the reasons why you’re quitting.
Exercise: Exercise helps fight addictions by releasing natural feel-good endorphins and easing stress and anxiety.
Take a shower: This is another calming distraction, plus when you feel clean and fresh, you’ll be less likely to want to light up.
Listen to music: Take your mind off of cravings with your favorite relaxing tunes, or put on an upbeat tune and dance to celebrate your new “smoke-free” self.

i know i said there were 6 things to do, but i’m adding a bonus that i think is highly important!  BONUS – Self Hypnosis – Learn to relax and get in control of your mind with self hypnosis!

I offer a Quit Smoking without Losing Your Mind Program monthly.  WE incorporate Hypnosis, NLP techniques along with teachings on eating healthy, exercise and how to create healthy habits for life.  The cost?  About 1 months supply of cigarettes!  Contact me to enroll for our next session today!

Are you someone who WANTS to quit smoking? Hypnosis & NLP

What if you could learn re programming exercises for the mind to help break the habit and for revamping the way that you live. Take some time to enjoy a revolutionary new way of looking at how to jump start your body and refresh your thinking. What if you could learn techniques to help re program your unconscious mind and will learn new healthy habits for long lasting results!

It doesn’t matter if you’ve smoked all your life, if you’ve tried in the past and failed, today is a brand-new day to begin again.

A growing number of people use hypnosis to quit smoking. It is not surprising considering the success rate of this method. However, research also shows that in order to stop smoking and be permanently done with the addiction, several hypnosis techniques along with NLP have to be utilized.

When using only suggestion therapy, it is likely that the person will go back to smoking within a year. The reason is that the underlying causes of why they started and continue to smoke, are not addressed.  Every day smokers around the globe swear they will stop smoking and never touch a cigarette again. Yet most start again only a few weeks later. Despite all the health risks of smoking, people find it extremely difficult to quit. Why?

Contrary to what many smokers think, it is not the nicotine. Nicotine is usually out of your system in as little as three to four days. Other chemicals may take a few days more. That’s why withdrawal symptoms like insomnia, nervousness and anger tend to fade away after a week.  Still, many smokers start again, because smoking is a psychological addiction. It is much harder to deal with the psychological aspects of quitting smoking than with nicotine.

That makes hypnosis to quit smoking the perfect way to alter psychological decisions on the unconscious level. If a person’s attitude changes, the behavior will change with it.

Smoking has become a way of coping with stress, anxiety, or boredom.  It regulates emotions, and lighting up another cigarette has become ingrained in a your daily routine. Deep inside, you may feel that NOT lighting up a cigarette deprives you of something.

There is only one way to get rid of such thoughts: enter the unconscious mind. That’s where the habit of being a smoker is lodged.  To become a smoker, a person needs to develop a habit. None of us were born smoking. It was a learning process. When we get to the initial reason why, it is easy to stop the addiction.

Using Hypnosis, the success rate is high. In fact, there is no other method for smoking cessation supported by research that comes close. Surveys show that your chance of a positive outcome is highest if you see a qualified, certified hypnotherapist.

Our small group program uses NLP techniques & Hypnosis for best results.  Contact me today for your free consultation to see if you are a good fit.  Break Free and Breath Easy !  You know you want to, don’t you!

So you know Cigarettes are Bad for YOU…Now What?

Take a deep breath and relax. I’m not going to start hitting you with endless statistics, or ‘facts’ You’re not an idiot. You’re not a child.  For whatever reason, you’ve decided to quit smoking and you’re thinking of using hypnosis. So what you really need to know is – why hypnosis, and why should you get this program in particular?

So you’ve perhaps tried to quit smoking in the past and oops… One slip and all that effort wasted. You planned, resisted the cravings, and had so many good intentions to never smoke again but…

So how can you stay stopped?

There is a big difference between a smoker that has stopped smoking and a non-smoker. The smoker hesitantly resists having a cigarette, while the non-smoker couldn’t think of anything worse than smoking.

You’ve probably heard people who quit smoking 10 years ago and still say “Every time I have a drink I still want a cigarette” -This person has quit on the conscious level… but unconsciously, smoking still calls their name.  they are still yearning and having cravings for cigarettes.

If you want to quit smoking, its time to become a non smoker.  Remember back to when you didn’t smoke.  You weren’t born a smoker.

If you’re going to Quit Smoking do the Job Right!

There are a million and one ways to stop smoking. Nicotine patches, electronic cigarettes, willpower, chewing gum, tablets, lozenges, inhalers and even prescription drugs with side effects. AND, there are plenty of well-meaning people out there willing to tell you how to stop smoking – quit tips are everywhere.

But they all miss one vital component – the unconscious mind.

If you are going to make the effort to free yourself from the terrible effects of smoking, why not do it right? Use a proper smoking cessation program that will leave you free of the desire to smoke.

Stop smoking when it feels more natural not to smoke

Many of our ex-smokers are relieved they could keep smoking during their smoking cessation program, so here it is again just in case:

“You continue to smoke while you progress through the program. You only quit when you don’t want to smoke any more.”

No cold turkey. No stopping before you’re ready. It’s more of a tapering off, until finally you stop buying cigarettes and become a non-smoker.

So here’s how it works;

You come to the first session and you learn different approaches and techniques to help you quit
We do hypnosis to quit smoking
The recording of our hypnosis session will be sent to you
You will listen to this recording once a day for 7 days
We meet again for the second session and continue with more learnings and techniques
When you feel like smoking no longer interests you, you stop.

Mindset Monday ~ How to be more Positive!

A negative mindset can never bring positive results…

If you want  happiness, you need to be optimistic. There are countless benefits of a positive attitude. It’s a state of mind that we could all be develop. When we change our state, we can become happier, healthier and more successful.

For this week’s Mindset Monday, we will give you the 3 things that can help you stay in a positive state!

1) Recognize when you are not being positive.

Awareness is key… It’s important that you acknowledge where you are right now. Are you being negative? What thoughts are coming to you?  How do they make you feel?

Think about how you can step out of that negative zone by looking at the brighter side of the situation you find yourself in. Step outside the picture, see this situation in a different light.  From a different perspective literally.

2) Practice it.

It’s about pouring your mind with positive thoughts constantly, so that you can get rid of the negativeness. We clean our bodies by showering, and the same goes with positive thoughts.  We can fuel our mind with positive thoughts, what we focus on expands.  So, focus your attention on what you want!   You can….Let go of the negative thoughts and replace them with positive one’s, you get to choose!

3) Laugh at yourself!

We don’t have to take life so seriously.  We sometimes find ourselves in a ridiculous or strange situation. Why can’t we just have a laugh at ourselves and move on? That way, you can let go of the negativity. Be happy, take it one step at a time… you can make the decision to be happy… see abundance everywhere you go and smile.

Change & Challenge…Simple tips to Re Wire Your Brain!

We know that change can be challenging. We tend to hold on to “stuff” for many different conscious and even unconscious reasons. The patterns and habits we’ve developed has served our body chemically and our body becomes addicted to the good and the not so good hormones and molecules of emotions.

Releasing old patterns that don’t serve you is what needs to happen and that can be done easily using Time Line Therapyu techniques… Recognizing the old patterns and being aware of them first and then doing the process to let them go…

This is where the garden comes in…..if you wanted to plant a garden, the first step would be to remove the old dead growth. Trying to plant new seedlings without cleaning up the previous winter’s debris, would make it difficult, wouldn’t it? You have to uproot the old plants and make room for the new. The same is true with your brain.

In order to create healthier and happier brain connections and patterns, you have to “unplug” from the old patterns and behaviors. We will use some NLP steps and visualizations to help us.

Here are a few simple steps to re-wire your brain:

Write down all the patterns that you want to release and change.

Decide what you want to replace those patterns with? Start writing.

Choose 1 habit or pattern that you want to change and take 15-30 minutes to meditate and visualize yourself uprooting the old pattern and replacing it with the new one.  See it, hear, it, feel the feelings of this new habit you want to develop

Have a strong intention and FEEL what it would feel like to actually experience the new habit.

Visualize it in vivid colors, sounds, tastes, smells, and emotions. See yourself doing this new healthy habit

You can also seek out a professional and do NLP, Hypnosis & Time Line Therapy (R).

Our body and brain are filled with electric circuits that can be re-wired, IF you take the time to do it. Yes, change can be challenging, but the benefits it brings can literally be life-changing!

“How To Quit Smoking Without Losing your Mind”

This Works Even If You Love Smoking!
 Quit Smoking Now!
It’s Never too late to quit!

After 20 min, your blood pressure drops and temperature in hands & feet return to normal
8 hours – the carbon monoxide levels in blood drops to normal
24 hours – chances of heart attack decrease
3 months – circulation improves and lung function increases by 30%
1 year – risk of coronary disease is half that of a smoker!
5 years – stroke risk reduced to half of someone who’s never smoked.
10 years – lung cancer death rate is half that of a continuing smoker. Risk of mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, kidney and pancreas cancer decreases.
15 years – risk of heart disease is that of someone who’s never smoked

The Quit Smoking  program enables you to stop smoking for good without willpower, struggle, drugs or weight gain, even if you have smoked for decades and have tried many other methods to quit.

Take a deep breath and relax. I’m not going to start hitting you with endless statistics, or ‘facts’ like ‘Did you know smoking can cause lung cancer?’ You’re not an idiot.

For whatever reason, you’ve decided to quit smoking and you’re thinking of using hypnosis. So what you really need to know is – why hypnosis?

Because hypnosis works with your unconscious mind where all your habits, leanings and behaviours are stored.  There is no cold turkey quit day – you quit when you’re ready!

This program is highly effective because it addresses the main cause of why you smoke which is the mental habit. This is why the other methods of quitting smoking – willpower, nicotine patches, drugs – don’t work for most people. This approach removes your mental habit and desire for smoking which means you are now free from smoking for good.

Testimonial Tuesday ~ Time Line Therapy (R)

After doing Time Line Therapy, Heather described how she felt ” i feel as though i just got rid of a lot of shit, a lot of baggage… i feel good, relieved and proud of myself”.

Heather released negative emotions such as Anger, Sadness, Depression, fear, hurt and guilt…Negative emotions trapped in the body over time create illness and disease… headaches, inflammation, IBS, diabetes, obesity, and even cancer.

Time Line Therapy (R) (TLT) is a powerful therapeutic process that has evolved from hypnosis and NLP, developed by Tad James, Ph.D. in the 1980s. It was developed by applying a therapeutic process to the concept that we store our memories in a linear manner in an internal memory storage system.

TLT provides one of the most powerful processes and techniques for personal change and growth by facilitating the elimination of the painful emotions attached to memories or events in the past. TLT also focuses on what we can learn from those events and use what we learn as a resource for the future. Time Line Therapy™ techniques and practical processes produce long lasting transformation much quicker than what is currently called “brief therapy”, with a minimum of discomfort to the client.

Some examples of painful emotions are: anger, rage, sadness, hurt, regret, fear, guilt, remorse. TLT also enables you to clear limiting beliefs that can leave you stuck in the past and stops you from creating what you want in your life. Both unwanted negative emotions and limiting beliefs influence every area of our lives.

Release negative emotions and limiting beliefs today using TLT techniques.  Its easy, and safe.  Learn more at www.lynnthier.com

Childhood trauma leads to lifelong chronic illness ~ According to Research

Since 1996, there has been research linking childhood stress to adult illness with the Kaiser Permanente-CDC Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACE Study). Since then, over 1500 peer-reviewed studies have replicated these findings.”

Researchers at Yale had recently shown that when inflammatory stress hormones flood a child’s body and brain, they alter the genes that oversee our stress reactivity, re-setting the stress response to “high” for life. This increases the risk of inflammation, which manifests later in cancer, heart disease, and autoimmune diseases.

You can read the full article HERE!

There is a test a person can do which will identify their aces score.  To learn more and do this test, connect with me. Therapies that help with overcoming trauma, negative emotions and limiting beliefs are Time Line Therapy (R), NLP and Hypnosis.
