Author Interview with Marissa Beck

a peach coloured banner that reads 'author interview' over a graphic of two pink books with pale yellow and red flowers on top, over text that reads 'indie book spotlight' over a line broken up by two hearts in the centre

Introduce yourself!

Hello, everyone, I’m Marissa Beck. I’m an indie author who loves stories of all sorts, my top three story mediums being books, music, and video games. My hope is to tell stories that can help people, whether it be through escapism or by seeing themselves in the characters. I tend to write a lot about mental illness and mental health recovery, as I needed more stories with empathy and hope for people like me who’ve been through things no one should have to go through. M...

Introduce yourself!

I’m Meredith. Capricorn sun, pisces moon. Earth dragon. Medical market researcher by day and author by night. Used to model but was never at home with the whole ‘treat models like crap’ thing, and what is it about creative industries thinking people don’t need to get paid? Anyway, I’m now 36 with two young children (2 and 4) which means no sleep and even less time for writing. If I had to describe myself I would say I’m no-nonsense, open-minded, kind-hearted and (usual...

In her centuries-long life, Kulika Yadav has chalked up more than her fair share of regrets. Deserting the crew of former pirate king Bartholomew Roberts is not one of them. She vowed she would never return to his Charleston mansion, knowing that doing so would mean captivity or death. Now, two hundred years after she left, she has no other option: her new master is dying, and the person who holds the key to his cur...

Author Interview with A. R. Longo

a red banner that says 'author interview' over a graphic of a stack of books and a lamp with smoke coming out of it, surrounding the books. below is more text that reads 'indie book spotlight' over a line with two hearts in the middle.

Introduce yourself!

My name is (Tony) A. R. Longo. I self-published my first book way back in 2011. I was born with Cerebral Palsy and hearing loss. I’ve published seven books so far. I try to include disabled characters in my stories and write them like any other character. When I am not writing stories, I am watching films and writing about them on Twitter/X, listening to music and attending concerts, and writing about them. I am a dog person and generally prefer animals to humans.

Introduce yourself!

Hi! I’m M. Laursyn, a very new author from a small town near Athens, GA that you’ve probably never heard of. I’m a mom to a beautiful little boy, wife to my amazing husband, and a graphic designer. Sort of a visual creative gone rogue. My debut, 319 Lies, is scheduled to come out June 2026 thanks to the wonderful people at Conquest Publishing.

What’s the first book you remember reading?

That’s a tough one! I remember loving Hank the Cowdog books by John R. Ericks...

Book Reviews: Now, and the Hour of Death (2023) & The Orc Who Saved Easter (2025)

a banner that reads: book review, indie book spotlight; picture of books on a tray beside a jumper and a cup of coffee.

Making this post a double book review post as I’ve fallen massively behind on transferring my reviews over from Goodreads when I post them. I’m also going to try and be better about cross-posting and reviewing going forward! Alas, I’ve not read nearly as much this year as I’d like due to how hectic things have been for me, plus my own editing and publishing schedule, which has taken a lot of my reading focus and time of late. I’m hoping to get a few more reviews out in the coming weeks if I ...
