Magenta Lilac Flower Essence: The Archetype of Pan
Lilacs have a deep rooted history originating in ancient Greek mythology. It was said that Pan, the god of forests and fields was hopelessly in love with a nymph named Syringa. One day he was pursuing her through a forest and she was so overwhelmed by his advances, she turned herself into a lilac shrub to disguise herself *. To Pan’s surprise, he could not find Syringa, but he did find the shrub. Because a lilac shrub consists of hollow reeds, he cut the reeds and created the first pan pipe. The scientific name for lilac is Syringa vulgaris, and the name is derived from the Greek word “syrinks” which means pipe.

The color of the lilac depicts in part the vibrational action of the flower in this case magenta brings the energy of soulfulness and passion. In the throes of sexual experience (with the right partner) a person loses their world identity and other than death or religious and spiritual ecstasy, it is the only time we truly let ourselves go completely. A sense of oneness is experienced. This concept is explored in tomes like the Karma Sutra and systems such as high Tantra.
Our culture bases so much of our lives around what we 'do' and define our selves through our work and judge our worth based on outward accomplishments. Pan or this aspect of Lilac is about 'being' total surrender to a bliss that is beyond the mundane we so often stridently strive for.
This essence connects you to your raw natural self, deeply melding you with nature, profound bliss, divine play, true surrender, being, and the use of sexuality as an ecstatic gateway to the divine.
If you are feeling ashamed about any natural impulse: frustrated, bored, agitated, restless or have a unsatisfying sexual life that does not feed your soul. These are all signs you have been cut off from your deep natural-self. Lilac will help your remember, replenish and make whole what you have lost.
* As you may have noticed in Greek mythology nymphs are always turning into plants to avoid some god/dess or another. This should not be read as violence, archetypal language is complex. More along the lines that we as mortals often do not fair well in the raw energy of the divine and these plants are the emissaries from these god/desses allowing us to touch an aspect of their divinity without being overwhelmed.

The Nature Spirit Sylaphant - Vibrational Essence
I began dreaming about Sylaphant (not to be confused with the word sycophant) about 3 years ago and she has continually showed up in my dreams, teaching me different aspects of her gift. She is a nymph and imbues very specific aspects of nature.
Here she is depicted feet rooted firmly in earth with the cattail plant growing in front of her illuminating her fecund nature
[image error]
Vibrational Essence of Sylaphant $18
As I have slowly integrated each lesson she would reveal more. As I write about in my book Essential Oils in Spiritual Practice - often once an archetypal energy has fully revealed its self - the deity, plant, etc... the work is done - as you have integrated that learning and you are now an aspect of that living disposition. The beloved archetype you have come to know and rely on will not come as often or at all, to make room for the next turn of the wheel in your evolution. I have not dreamt of her in over 2 months and have decided to honor her by trying to sum up her energy and share it with others in the form of a vibrational essence. As Isha Lerner stresses once you learn a principal it is paramount one finds a way to share it.
Often when I dream about big energies my psyche is not ready to comprehend and engage with, a herald will appear to me in a dream and announce who is to come. In this case a male voice very clearly announced "Sylaphant, is a holder of ancient magic". That was that. In about 2 weeks she started coming to me in my dreams and teaching me regularly.
I hesitated sharing her image that I had painted to invite her more into my conscious but have ultimately decided it is powerful and helpful in understanding her energies:
* She is crowed with divine light as she does not need outside adornment
*Her eyes are closed because she looks inside for council
*She looks blissful because she is at peace
* Her heart is on fire and blazes fiercely and wonderfully
*Her jeweled nipples represent the succor she offers the world though her many gifts
*She is imbued with the divine gift of expression through voice and her high-heart leading her on the path of integrity
*Her beautiful shining navel represent she is the navel of creation
*Her fecund yoni is a elegant power symbol honoring her energy of the divine feminine and her ability to birth ideas and environments into the world
* Her strong legs are firmly grounded into the earth
*Her blaze integrates all the power markers into self
.....
Key energies: Deep magic, fecundity, understanding nature though your own nature, your literal body as an allegory for nature, creation through the primordial feminine.
Sylaphant, imparts all of the energies listed above and if you allow her really, really, getting to know your most natural self, and being deeply content with what you find. Once this occurs it is fascinating to observe what grows in your life.

Vibrational Essence Hemlock Spruce (Great Spirit/Grandfather)
This new vibrational essence is apart of my Archetype line. Normally $18 Now $16
[image error]
Elements: Ether, with seed of earth
Key Traits: A grounded elevated nature; cooperation; peace; purification; protection; joy; tranquillity; humility; self-reliance; fortitude; and a profound sense of the spiritual. An emanation of the divine masculine.
Divine Archetype: Great Spirit/Grandfather (peace, wisdom, tranquility)
Hemlock spruce is used for achieving a grounded, elevated state and for establishing shelter from discordant energy. It also imparts the energy of fortitude and firm self-reliance. In his book The Meaning of Trees, Fred Hagender beautifully describes some of the energy surrounding this magnificent tree.
"The spruce is also the center of sacred teaching among the indigenous tribes of southern Canada, who call it the Peace Tree. Its lessons are: to co-operate and exchange with other life forms; to be connected to the earth and the heavens; and to exhibit a joyful and tranquil humility."
Shamans of the Tsimshian tribe in the Pacific Northwest also used spruce boughs during purification rituals. According to the Hagender most Native American trines believe that the spruce offers protection from damaging influence.

The Energy of Dogwood: The Tree of Life, Christ and Hermetic Consciousness
Symbolism: Magician, Herm (rules the boundaries between one state of consciousness and another), Empathy, Kindness.
Divine Associations: Tree of Life, Christ Consciousness, Hermetic Consciousness
Astrological Association: Mercury
"At the time of the Crucifixion the dogwood had been the size of the oak and other forest trees. So firm and strong was the tree that it was chosen as the timber for the cross. To be used thus for such a cruel purpose greatly distressed the tree, and Jesus, nailed upon it, sensed this, and, in His gentle pity for all sorrow and suffering, said to it: “Because of your regret and pity for my suffering, never again shall the dogwood tree grow large enough to be used as a cross. Henceforth it shall be slender and bent and twisted and its blossoms shall be in the form of a cross—two long and two short petals. And in the center of each petal there will be nail prints, brown with rust and stained with red, and in the center of the flower will be a crown of thorns, and all who see it will remember." i
[image error]
Dogwood flower essence Normally $18. Now $16 using this essence will awaken all the energies listed within you. You may call on any or all aspects. Just set your intentions
The dogwood tree speaks of sacrifice of self for an ideal larger than self, and communication to other realms within and without. This can be looked at through the archetypal energies of many Gods or individuals who have hung themselves on the Tree of Life to experience a form change. Mystics of Jesus' time believed that Christ was a way to describe union with God, or consciousness, within the man Jesus. Many Christian theologians have spoken of Christ Consciousness as the awareness of true essence. Christ also hung on a metaphorical tree of life, the cross, descended into the land of the dead to return to the land of the living and then to move beyond our reality, into the realm of God.
The Sun Dance is a ceremony practiced by a number of Native American tribes. This ceremony was one of the most important rituals practiced by the North American Plains Indians. Each tribe has its own distinct rituals and methods of performing the dance, but many of the ceremonies have features in common, including dancing, singing, praying, drumming, the experience of visions, piercing of the chest or back then tethered to pole (trunk of a cottonwood tree) . Frederick Schwatka wrote about a Sioux Sun Dance he witnessed in the late 1800s:
"Each one of the young men presented himself to a medicine-man, who took between his thumb and forefinger a fold of the loose skin of the breast—and then ran a very narrow-bladed or sharp knife through the skin—a stronger skewer of bone, about the size of a carpenter's pencil was inserted. This was tied to a long skin rope fastened, at its other extremity, to the top of the sun-pole (cotton wood tree) in the center of the arena. The whole object of the devotee is to break loose from these fetters. To liberate himself he must tear the skewers through the skin, a horrible task that even with the most resolute may require many hours of torture.
In fact, the object of being pierced is to sacrifice one's self to the Great Spirit, and to pray while connected to the Tree of Life, a direct connection to the Great Spirit. Breaking from the piercing is done in one moment, as the man runs backwards from the tree at a time specified by the leader of the dance."
Odin, who played a hermetic role in Pagan worship, used the Tree of Life to travel between realms and received his wisdom from Yggdrasil (a giant ash tree), where he hung upside-down for nine nights in order to obtain the magical Rune Alphabet. Johnson speaks to the mercurial energy of Odin when he says:
[W]hen considering Odin’s travels, it is that he can travel up and down the great tree at the center of the world, the axis of the world. Traveling up the tree leads him to the land of the gods; traveling down the tree leads him to the land of the dead. Like Greek Hermes, he mediates between the worlds. He is the energy that travels between realities, and he is the borderless reality in between. Mercury is what some cultures might refer to as a shape-shifter, one who has access to all worlds simultaneously just as he belongs to none. James Hillman writes: For Hermetic consciousness, there is no upperworld versus underworld problem. Hermes inhabits the borderlines; his herms are erected there, and makes possible an easy commerce between the familiar and the alien. iii
This flower essence addresses beauty and grace in physical movement, and the Mercurial energy of quicksilver. Quicksilver offers fluidity of movement, in all aspects of being. Also joyous, childlike behavior. Mercury is well known for being the most youthful/childlike Olympian God, to the point of being a trickster. This flower also addresses the split of one realm from the other; appreciation of beauty within and without; patterns of imbalance concerning physical and etheric harmony; and more.
Dogwood also eases the difficulty and fear around sacrificing one’s present state of being, which will eventually lead to a greater gain. It aids in bringing dream information from the subconscious to the conscious for examination and understanding; sunflower, being associated with Apollo and consciousness, blended with dogwood, which is ruled by Mercurial energies, loosening the membrane of planes, makes a beautiful bridge to have all aspects of self work together.

The Energy of Acorn - Exploring Two Faces of the Divine
Symbolism: Fruits of labor, nurturing, growth, parenting, patience.
Divine Associations: Saturn (lord of time),* Demeter
Astrological Association: Saturn, Ceres asteroid (Goddess of the Harvest)
“There are several goddesses that may be regarded as ’earth goddesses,’ particularly Gaia…But Demeter is an offspring of Gaia—a granddaughter actually.
Gaia is the quintessential ‘Earth Mother’; she is the earth itself. Ceres/Demeter, two generations removed, represents the fruits of Mother Earth—the flowers, the fields, and the food. Ceres/Demeter is primarily concerned with the growing of things and how things are nourished to provide that growth.”i
Just as Demeter teaches us the principle of growth as a labor of love, nurturing, and parenting, an equally important concept in understanding the acorn is time. The acorn has traditionally been a symbol of patience and the fruition that comes from long, hard work, summed up in the phrase, “Rome was not built in a day.” Acorn is the opposite of the quicksilver energy of dogwood, where in a flash you can have a change of consciousness or an epiphany. Acorn represents the prolonged attention needed to foster to maturation very large goals, step by step. As the English proverb states, “the great oaks from little acorns grow.”
Poor Saturn, it seems many people have a strained relationship with his principle, which teaches us the value of real time, working with delays, and overcoming hardships and limitations in life. I love Saturn (I have a double Saturn ring on my right hand), as he also teaches us maturity, boundaries, limitations, practicality, and, as a by-product, creative problem solving!
Guttman & Johnson remind us, “Saturn likes productivity and abhors stagnation or procrastination.”ii Acorn energy is the energy to tap into to keep growth going in even the most inhospitable conditions, and along the way to learn many lessons that allow one to mature, until your project, idea, self, etcetera, grows and stretches into the mighty oak, as age alone does not create maturity.
This is also an excellent remedy for the individual who parents in bursts. This might manifest, for example, as the parent who says nothing for a long period about shoes left in the entry hall. Then it suddenly gets to them, and there is a flurry of yelling, punishment, and so on, instead of steady parenting that explains to the child the principles behind the why.
.........
* Saturn’s European alchemical tradition is nigredo, or blackening – what was considered the difficult phase of alchemy that could include difficulties or sorrow. This is considered the first step or beginning of the work.

Drink Your Flowers! Our Limited Run Camellia Cordials are Ready
Many of my flower essences are focused on healing painful or shadow aspects of self. One of the reasons I love the Camellia is her energy is about pure and everlasting love. Her energy feels like a fairytale:
Her petals hold the spirit of the feminine and the calyx holds the energy of the masculine, who in turn trust and take care of each other. Unlike other flowers the calyx and petals fall at the same time. Unity and unfaltering love between a man and a woman (any romantic relationship). Other key energetic traits are: Longevity, faithfulness and devotion. I used deep pink flowers and they bring the energy of: passion, desire, and joy in creating a life together 'with hearts on fire'.
. Mutual trust and care taking in a relationship
. Unity and unfaltering love
. Longevity, faithfulness and devotion
. Passion, desire, joy in creating a life together
1 oz Camellia Cordial Flower Essence . $45 . This limited run batch
Take this essence on top of the tongue to savor not only the energy but flavor
1 oz Camellia flower essence (made in traditional manner) . $18
The medium for this beautiful flower will be a cordial. I love the definition for this word and I do feel my elixir falls neatly into all three categories:
cor·dial
ˈkôrjəl/
1. Warm and friendly (you will feel this way)
2. A term for liqueur (that you need for stabilizing flower essences)
3. A comforting or pleasant tasting medicine (yes it is)
There are few things more delightful than being able to savor the energy and flavor of a flower on your tongue, the experience is delicate and refined
My flower cordials work on the same principle as regular flower essences:
Taking a Vibrational Essence is an invitation to the healing process. Vibrational Essences contain the life-force/ archetypal energy released from the object being used, and they have no scent at all. These are vibrational substances which effect a resonance or sympathetic vibration within our being, inducing a gentle change in attitude, consciousness, and/or physical being. Using methods discovered by Dr. Edward Bach of England during the 1930s and by aboriginal peoples in the far more distant past, the flowers and other items release their energy, or vibration, into water, then are stabilized in a matrix (most people use brandy).
My regular line of flower essences vibrations are stabilized in a matrix of Elder Flower
[image error]
Once a year with the first blooms, I make flower essences stabilized in the matrix of the actual plant it comes from (camellia, forsythia, lilac and violet) I price these based on the yield
The Process
Gathering the blooms

This step in elixir making is called garbling and describes the process of removing the stamen, blighted petals, and checking for insect hitch hikers, and finally separating the petals. To complete the entire silver bowl will take me a little over two hours

Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. Making Green Bean Vibrational Essence: With a little help from my friends
I tend to make what I crave and I have been craving the energy of the humble green bean who it turns out is not so simple after all.
One of the more fascinating aspects of this slender green vegetable is it teaches natural magic, that allows us to tap into our deepest gifts and dance with them in ecstasy - until what ever that gift is blooms - into the fullest expression of itself.
Take a moment to really sit with this energy - what a gift from nature
Furthermore this plant fosters creativity and the fulfillment of desire from a source that is pure and cleansing.
Green bean also teaches perseverance in the face of obstacles and learning the lesson(s) with as much ease as possible. Softening your struggles and helping you see the value while in process. Allowing you to stop and take a breath and face your own fears, especially the vulnerable aspects that are intensely personal.
After taking this essence try meditating on:
. What aspect of your natural magic wishes to bloom?
. What obstacles or struggles are keeping you from your full expression of self?
. Where do you feel most vulnerable in life?
As this crystalizes in your mind take a deep breath and fully allow the vibration of this plant to permeate your whole-being. Relax into green beans energy and allow her to work her magic and help melt away your struggles and fears, allowing your own personal magic to bubble to the surface and be purified, enjoying the creative expression that follows.
If you would like to invite this energy into your life our essence is on sale. Normally $18. Now $15
