'....I love you so much, Mama. I hope you have a good day...'

.....words spoken when Amanda called me from between classes today. She didn't want money. Didn't want to rant. Just thought of me and called. She didn't text! She called! Just how cool is that and how amazing that such a little thing can make me so flipping happy...

Glad to see stricter guidelines being administered. We had a few "foster" parents through the SWI I worked at that shouldn't have been allowed. Edited to add that though there were a few questionable foster parents, the vast majority were amazing individuals. I always recommend foster care over institutional care---as long as those in the program are vetted.

Foster parents who care for abandoned children with disabilities must undergo 5-step screening process and training program, says Ministry of Civil Affairs.

Teacher in China draws map of the world by memory
www.dramafever.com
And I thought I had a good memory. A netizen recently posted a series of photos of a history teacher in China drawing the entire map of the world on a chalkboard by memory and by hand.  The incredibly impressive feat is documented chronologically in the photos, and you can see how pre…

I almost used Jackie Chan in a book. Then I decided not to. But I still really like the man.

Many orphanages, homes, and schools in China do not have central heating, which means that people often wear their winter coats throughout the day. It is so important for every child to have a good quality coat that will keep them protected until spring comes again — and even more essential for children in our programs who have medical special needs and are more prone to pneumonia.

Please consider participating in our "Coats for Kids" program! $18 will purchase a coat to help children in LWB programs stay warm this winter. http://bit.ly/10QAZfk
