Such sad news but thankful that she lived the last of her time on earth knowing that she was loved.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we pass along the news that Elizabeth from Heartbridge (now Bekah) passed away this weekend. The complex heart surgery needed to prolong her life took place in mid-August, and sweet Bekah never regained consciousness. Further complications developed on Friday, and Bekah left this world peacefully, in the arms of her parents.

Bekah's mom writes, "We want the kind people who supported her to know our deep appreciation for their prayers and giving." Bekah's joyful spirit touched so many around the world, and we know that she will never be forgotten.

Tidbit Tuesday. (From my current WIP)

He sighed in frustration, then picked up the wooden hand grenade. He gave it a good toss and watched as it fell short. The instructor turned to him, the red hue already rising from his thin neck and coloring his face and ears to match. “What are you doing? That could mean death to you in one instant of nonchalant tossing, don’t you understand that?”

I met many parents at the Colorado Chinese heritage camp who stated they'd love for someone in their family to read my memoir, Silent Tears, in order to help them understand their need to adopt, as well as help family members understand why they parent their adopted child as they do.

Here's how they share what they've learned. Did you know you can 'Gift' a book? Here's how:

• Click to visit the Amazon page.
• Find the green box on the right side of the page and click the Give as a Gift button.
• Type in your friend's email and add a message.
• Follow the link, clicking on the Place your order button.

Silent Tears: A Journey of Hope in a Chinese Orphanage
www.amazon.com
Irrepressible memories. Vacant eyes. A child being dangled from a third story window. A boy tied to a chair. Children sleeping in layers of clothing to fight off the bitter cold. An infant dying from starvation. Some things your mind will never allow you to forget.Silent Tears is the true story o...
